Including commentary by Roger about how he pretty much lost control of the meaning of the song thanks to "that rotter, Freddie!" He was joking, of course. There's a quip about another band member's . . . ah . . . member, and Freddie's wish to not sink to the level of the Andrews Sisters. And notice they all exchange places and clothes.
@@rosemorris7912I LV that bit of roger and John deacon when he's saying about Freddie not doing anything in half s and when John said he left it for those 3 to write 😊😊
When they were recording the instruments but didn't have the lyrics yet, Freddie was singing a Chinese takeout menu. That's how they ended up with "Fried Chicken" at the end. 😆
It is so wonderful to watch these guys work together to get the song to the place where they want it to be. A true collaborative effort to a perfect song. Watching them, you realize how much they actually understand the music, they are not just performers, they are creators. Thank you for showing this documentation of the making of this song.
Hi John since you liked this vid you might also like: 1977 10 We are The Champions promo film shoot...it’s very interesting...we see John and Brian with John’s little boy, Robert...who’s now in his late forties...yikes!...time flies🤩
Thank you John, you might not read the comments here as this was posted a long while ago....just to say that there is a 20 mins. approx. version of this here on TH-cam...Queen Danka is the name of the channel...the quality is excellent..and even if you don’t repost it, I think you might enjoy watching it....but I really hope you do repost it ☺️....people will love the quality of it🤩
4:16 I love these behind the scenes peeks into the goings on. Seeing Jim Hutton there being a supportive BF even though he's got no idea what the hell is going on lol,so so sweet.
Thankyou dear!! One Vision is one of my favourits. I love this docu with the guys working together….my god…time flies! Amazing that their music is still around us after so many years. I love their passion and musicality, and the fact they were so versatile. Much bless youngman and keep up the good work!
This video presents very well the hard studio work, the boring parts of the recording session when 2-3 lines or notes have been discussed hours long, parts have been played repetitively days long, arguments about the personal ideas. I have never thought before, that to give a birth to a song was so difficult. Freddie’s and Brian’s obvious perfectionism could have been sometimes annoying, but they were right, because the result speaks for itself. I’m sure you, as a musician, will certainly value the work invested quite differently than an inexpert.
Nice reaction! There is 23 minute version, this shorter version has cut out some things, you can perhaps watch that on your own. There is another short making of video for We Are The Champions it is around 8 minutes, that one is also good.
There is an extended version which gives you more idea how the song came too be, there's the same with Bo Rap by Dr Brian May and Roger Taylor, think it was made after John left, quite a few behind the scenes videos, and they were one of the first too use fans in videos right from the early days
Thank you for this reaction! I think what struck me most was the detailed level of understanding each separate instrument and how they would fit together - all held in Freddie's mind clearly as he tries to communicate how each element should sound.
We are there! Happy me watching the Queen guys at work. Now I must pull up their live in Wimbledon video. I'm smilin'. Thank YOU! (Yes, I've seen the longer video of this, great also!)
Thank you! Your musical professionalism shows how you can appreciate making real music. It's a great experience for everyone. That's how music was made in the 70's and 80's without tuning and effects. They worked like brothers and joked. However, they always found the perfect ending, and we still see that result today. It's always cool and shakes us. Hot talented boys have left their very deep mark on the history of music.
Hello John - Love watching you watch Queen in their element!! Reinhold Mack was their producer!! He also produced ELO. Geniuses at work!! Btw, love your intro for your video reactions. 💗 You should check out Queen’s concert opener at Milton Keynes 1982 - FLASH/THE HERO/WE WILL ROCK YOU (fast version)🙏🏻

I love the discussion over the cymbal smash. Roger smashing all four cymbals is his answer to Freddie! It’s not in the final song! Four strong personalities. ❤️❤️
Beautiful neuer saw this before loue Queen they truly are amazing 👍 brilliant freddy and his great musicians are just outstanding 🙏🎶🎶 thank you John godbless from uk 🏴 barb 👍 ❤️ 🎧🎸❤️🙏👍
Omg this is superb. This is so lovley to look, I think I have seen it at list 100 times +++++, but there is one then you much more you can see. I think its for over 20 minuts it so wonderful you, please react on that. Or see it for your self its so so so ♥️♥️♥️ thank you so much for your react, wonderful......you have change your hair, very 🔥😊
Johnny... You know this, I am totally not a Queen's fan; it's not the style of music I can get into. However, I am a fan of John Gibson Music & your Channel. I enjoy watching your face light up watching this, & again, your comprehensive insight with your musical background~I like that, because I learn something new in your interpretation. Plus, I do have to admit, in the beginning of this video with the solo instrumentation of the drums, etc. I did enjoy! I cannot ignore good playing skills! So good one Johnny! 👍 Take good care of you! 😉 💘
I so enjoy your reactions. There is a mini-documentary on the making of QUEEN’s song, Bohemian Rhapsody, with the title:“Inside the Rhapsody”. It is in 3 parts. In Part 3, Brian May speaks to the technical issues that occurred during the production of the song and the innovative resolutions of these issues by all the band members. While it was way above my pay grade, I enjoyed listening to it and I’m sure you would find it very interesting. By the way, I was in the audience at Queen’s concert in Montreal, 1981. (Please do not hate me!) Of course, it was GREAT!! No matter how old I become - and I’m pretty old already - the superb, totally amazing Freddie, Brian, Roger and John will always have a special place in my heart - and on my playlist.
Loved this video. Loved your enjoyment of it and your obvious understanding of the creative process they were exhibiting. I'd like to ask if you would react to "Now I'm Here" live from Wembley Stadium in 1986. The song was produced during their earlier years and they performed it numerous times throughout the years, but this performance is truly outstanding. If I could make another request, I'd love to see you react to "Dragon Attack" live from Montreal 1981. I think you'll enjoy this really fun song.
I enjoy your reactions to all Queen but there is a longer version and shows much more, of the song that Brian wrote and Freddie stole and created a new version Queen one vision Documentary. You will enjoy that even if you don"t do a reaction. Please watch.
Hi John, I've never seen this shortened version before? Because the two similar versions from the Official Queen channel and the Chinwonder2 channel are both 20 minutes long. (The Chinwonder2 channel's version is the BEST... it just has minor differences from the official original, incorporating a few more interesting bits/making it a little faster-paced.) ...After watching, I can tell that this is edited down from the Chinwonder2 channel's version (based on the order of some of the scenes). th-cam.com/video/ywATOmlX6n4/w-d-xo.html
John I found a new song that I have never heard ever by Elvis it's called it's your baby you rock it it was on a channel that's called Sun to RCA I know you have your ways of getting in touch with some of our subscribers here in USA but maybe you can find the song on you on it's just pictures but gorgeous I would like your opinion on this particular song it's your baby you rock it AKA Elvis Junkie too much to say about the previous song I liked it all right but when I want to get a message to you I have to try to do it on the last song that you commented on I know this probably other ways but you know me I'm a little slow these days AKA Elvis Junkie

“Fried rice, wontons, egg rolls, fried chicken”

That’s the reason Queen worked, they all shared the work , they all contributed
