Not only are they using toilet paper for the center, they’re also using polystyrene cups for the outer markers! Love it. SHINee being SHINee, they probably still use weird shit for markers when learning!

Sherlock is SHINee's favorite song but that's a different topic.
Tonny was actually preparing EXO for their debut, but there were also members of NCT at these classes, TVXQ, from what I know, they started cooperation with SM at that time and he conducted classes and prepared choreography for practically all groups. SHINee, apart from this one, also had Everybody and Marriet To The Music

Those SM Rookies boys in that video with Tony Testa are now a few of the members of NCT! Jisung was the little kid. The one you thought was D.O was Mark. The others in the video are Taeyong, Jaehyun, and Yuta.

It's always awesome to see someone so passionate about not only their craft but advocacy for proper education in that craft, much respect mate. I love the Sherlock choreo, it's super fun and unique.

Actually Sherlock Dance Practice was not one of the first (that would be Lucifer?), because many people wanted to learn it. If I remember correctly they even held a worldwide contest for covers.
The dance practice is not polished like the ones that where uploaded later by other groups. I mean they would never left the smack in otherwise xD (Jonghyun accidentally smacked Taemin in the head in the beginning)

That’s amazing 😂 regardless of which one was the technical first, I absolutely LOVE that they were the trend setters for this! (Even though we know they wouldn’t have made these choices in fashion and hair if they knew it was going to be as iconic as they are 😂)

I feel like I heard this was the very 1st dance practice ever dropped. Maybe another song, but definitely by SHINee.
Also maybe someone had a cold. 🧻 is great for that 😂

I really appreciate what you said in the Tony Testa section - I've experienced this problem myself when I was dancing in a studio where the focus was on choreo and competitions. I (having been a teenager at the time) already had a hip hop background, but most did not and they taught us choreo that had hip hop steps without properly teaching foundation. This seems to happen a lot in kpop too. Really a pity that they either don't take the time or don't have the knowledge themselves to teach properly.
I'm curious about your honest opinion on Tony Testa's dancing, because I can't say that I personally enjoy his dancing but I do like him as a choreographer bringing some more "out there" steps into kpop choreo (such as Cherry Bomb by NCT 127, I love it but it's often regarded as cringe/weird among kpop fans)

How you described Tony is the BEST way for how I also feel. Personally, how he syncopates within his choreography is NOT that practical in a combo setting and feels somewhat unnecessary at times. Hence why I was honestly so shocked at how well his choreography was showcased on SHINee.. I'm not dogging his success AT ALL, but I do honestly feel that out of all the choreographers I have encountered with their earlier work to now, he is one of the ones that has grown the LEAST in movement quality.

I like this choreography a lot, are you gonna review "Your number" by Shinee? I think that dance version has some interesting choreography
