LOL you must be new to CDramas otherwise you would know that AI software like Google Translate do the subtitles. It is not done by humans. Furthermore Mandarin does not have PRONOUNS so the software picks whatever it thinks is correct. You have to use your LOGIC when a man is obviously talking about his son, it will translate as ‘she, her’ etc SO GRAMMAR POLICE we don’t need an English lesson today

Like you, at first i was confused with the "he" & "she" in the English subtitles.
In Mandarin language, there's no "he" or "she" word like in the English language.
Mandarin language is not the only one that doesn't define the gender.
Bahasa Indonesia is same, too.
I wouldn't mind the captions because, we, English speakers could understand everything or anything anyways. The Chinese did their best and we must thank, not criticize their efforts. If there were no English captions, then we would not want to watch this.

There's always retribution in any wrongdoings. This story brought good moral in life. Very exciting, interesting and inspiring sequel. I liked the chemistry of both leading couple. Also, this was different kind of story whereas most of the mother's role in previous dramas either killed, tortured, maltreated, violated and maligned, atleast in this drama, although people underestimated her, but turned out the richest woman. Another lazy writer that fills up the time slot with nothing but endless b!tch sessions. If you cut them out you might, I said, you might fill up 30 minutes of a good drama but that also includes where they are not talking. I just spent 15 minutes out of 19 of nothing but everyone standing around b!tching and trying to one up each other. Boring, redundant, and frustrating writing. They had the opportunity to utilize good actors but instead chose to have nothing but runny dialogue spewing from everyone's mouth. I may try to watch further at 2x speed to see if the mains can convince me that they fall in love, we shall see if they can pull it off even with a lazy writer.
Fl goes to a drugstore and lo and behold who shows up? That's right, out of 1000's of drugstores in the city the sfl just so happened to end up in the same one! Will wonders never cease?!!! It's all because the writer needs too have a looooong drawn out b!tch session to fill in the time.
