This is the reason I love watching building youtubers. (even outside of SW) I would have never thought of building scaffolding to test a winch setup instead of trying to get a helo to cooperate reliably
At some point they removed the possibility to use the remote when in a harness, glad to see it works with a padded seat but it's such a stupid miss by the devs to not allow it on the harness which would be the perfect way to descend from a helo. You also can't use a remote while on a handle... Before they did that I was remote controlling my helo suspended in the air lol. Also going into 3rd person view while on remote and in seat makes you disconnect from the remote. But when you stand up normally and do the same nothing happens.. everything is inconsistent in stormworks lol anyway i love your idea with the handle and workaround with the seat ty
You can test out the Universal Winch MC with Remote and Rappelling here: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3370809852

Are you a IRL engineer or is this a weekend hobby ?
I am a legally licensed structural engineer!
@@454ss_gaming nice . I always enjoy and learn from watching your content ( you are great with explaining new things and showing examples )
@@454ss_gaming Just out of curiosity where did you go to university?
I just did the same thing yesterday with an heli I'm working on using the handle
couldnt you have used a harness?
Yes, but I explain that it is heavy and requires a large spawn area - whereas this can be placed easily inside small builds!
You could use a liquid meter to keep it exactly at the water line too. I like it.
Id just change the toggle to "water rescue" and use the liquid meter with an appropriate smoothing for heavy seas.
