  • The global leader in digital asset custody, Ledger, has just announced at the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville the launch of its latest digital wallet: the Flex.
Smaller and more affordable than the Stax ($249 compared to $399), which faced numerous delays, the Flex aims to help Ledger broaden its product lineup. Is this a winning strategy? We delve into the details with Charles Guillemet, CTO of the French unicorn.

This came out of no where. Was not even expecting another new product while they are still shipping pre-orders for the 3rd batch of the last product. By the price of things, it looks like they needed to fill a cheaper price point so they made a Stax like product with some trimmed down things such as no wireless charging smaller screen etc... and at a cheaper price point. I think this is a good move for Ledger. I paid $279, I wouldn't have paid $399 though. But $249 for something similar is not bad either.

What I want to know is how this compares to the ledge blue that was discontinued and why they think the flex is going to do better for them.

Totally different device. May not look like it, but these are far more complex.

@@DEM78976 Ofcourse these are far more complex. The blue came out during the earlier stages of security.
But they serve the same purpose. They store private keys, and sign transactions.
Kinda like how a VCR and a DVD player both play movies but one does so using a VHS tape and the other using a DVD. They are drastically different in complexity but serve the same purpose.
The reason I ask about it. Is because the "big breakthru" as ledger keeps claiming is the "touch screen". Now the touch screen has a secure element chip in it, so its by far more complex, but the screen itself wasnt the innovation they already had that. So it's very odd to brag about "ease of use because of a touch screen" as if it was the first one you did.
However thats asumming the blue was touch screen, I might be wrong it may not have been I never owned one personally.
