- Some days ago I've had the wonderful opportunity to play both organs at the Bovenkerk in Kampen, Netherlands! The organ you are seeing and hearing in this video is the choir organ and is set up to be a baroque and liturgical instrument. This organ features a dedicated keyboard (with very short keys) for a high pressure Clairon which is a lot of fun to play around with!
I hope you enjoy this improvisation on this amazing instrument! I've also had the opportunity to record the legendary Hinsz organ in the back of the church - I'll post these videos in the near future!
Most of the larger and famous churches in the Netherlands tend to charge a (high) fee for recording there, so I'd be very thankful if you'd support my work via a one time donation on Paypal or by becoming a patron and donating through Patreon! Thank you!!

Wonderful! And I love the rotating star. (As well as the star seated on the bench with penguin socks,)
He pulled out all the stops for that one😊
I was really enchanted by the sound of this beautiful chamade but the sound of the full organ then… this organ sounds so incredibly beautiful 🥰
love the contrasts in the settings of the keyboards
Hey, lieber Paul.
What a fantastic fanfare! Bravo, Paul!
Vielen Dank !
Fantastic, Paul, I'm completely fascinated when You are playing!
Paul ...a real Pentacost ...on this magnificent Organ and beautiful Church ..a Message of Hope and Inspiration . ....Thank you !
That chamade rivals the Spanish trumpets you played. Can't wait to hear you on the Hintz organ. From Chicago, U.S.A.
Wow ! Excellent play on the 2nd most beautiful organ in this church !!!
Gee! Kampen Bovenkerk??? You Musy play the mighty Albertus Hins Organ there! If my memory is correct, I remember that Hinsz has got huge influence from Arp Schnitger. I totally envy you playing that neo-baroque organ there😎👍👍👍
Good to see the Reil organ in action, and the Hinsz probably later;)
Another wonderful discovery of yours. A really enjoyable watch...and listen.
Lieber Paul,
DANKE 👍🏻🐧👍🏻🐧👍🏻🐧👍🏻🐧🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻🐧🐧🐧
beautyfull organ of my home city:)
I hope you play the Big organ too.
Oooh I will! 😀😀
Heir Fey,Thank You for making my Soul Shot.😂
Très belle interprétation. Bravo 👏👏👏
🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵❤️
Wunderbar Paul Fey 👍 👌 👍
Danke 😀
Paul, that’s the most brilliant exciting fanfare! It’s so beautifully played! You inspire me!
I enjoyed both your piece and the organ. Thanks for sharing it!
You keep finding these wonderful organs for us! This video was absolutely beautiful, the music fit perfectly. What an instrument. I love your compositions! Thank you!💓
Beautiful performance. The organ has a very beautiful façade.
It must be exciting to have so many organs made available to you. Your talent and reputation, I am sure, facilitate that!
Please note that these Instruments are not "made available" to Mr. Fey. He pays a fee for recording them.
AND the institution gets the free publicity that comes from these performances...
Have you encountered other tiny, Chamade-devoted keyboards in your travels?
What a beautiful instrument, and love that mini keyboard for the en chamade ranks! It must be the only instrument with this.
WOW! What a lovely instrument, and one that you have more than done justice with this wonderful fanfare, Paul. To say it was inspiring nearly misses the point. Thank you for the demonstration and for your acclaimed artistry! Bravo!
Bravo Paul Fey !!!!
Wonderful Paul! I've had the good fortune of playing this instrument some years ago! A little gem!
I love it paul you are so awesome 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Hi Paul - during my erasmus I studied in a town called Merseburg. I've visited the magnificant organ of the Merseburg Cathedral. I wonder if it would be interesting to play there?
BRILLIANT - as always 🙂
Dear Paul, I hope you will release the transcription of this wonderful improvisation! Thank you!
Small keyboard. Big sound!!!
Just WOW! 👋👋👋 👍👍👍👍
Thank you! 😀😀
Super gespielt!!!
Bovenkerk Kampen has a TH-cam channel with more recordings of this lovely organ and the great Hinz organ.
Das ist so wundervoll. Vielen Dank Paul Fey. !!!!!
Absolut wunderbar
Dankeschön 😀
Ich bin begeistert von diesem Stück
Das ist sehr schön, vielen Dank Maestro 👌👍👏
Großartig
An impressive sound from this unique instrument. An interesting design with the third keyboard. A wonderful fanfare improvisation, Paul.
Wow wee!! Bravo Paul!! Love it! BTW, have u heard the Organ fanfare used in the Processional in The Sound Of Music (Julie Andrew's version) ? Ur awesome Paul, TY!! ❤
Sehr schön Paul Fey 👌👍👏
Sehr schön Paul Fey 👌👌👌
Man that was awesome! You should aim the cam so we can see your pedal work too when you play these church organs. Thx for letting us know about the cost thing, I had no idea that churches charged for using the organ. 🙂🙃
Nice one! The very short keys remind me of the Classical French organs I have played where the natural fronts are no more than short stubs!
What a wondferful sound. Left me wanting more - always a good sign! Those bass /pedal sounds would surely be ideal for Bach -yes/no?
awesome fanfare!!! 🎹
Absolutely wonderful Paul! Wonderful played as always my friend!😁👍👏👏👏
Really Nice
Boar, der Bass , umwerfenden schön..😅👍
Herrlich und so kraftvoll 👏👌👍🙏
Fantastisch 👍👍👍
Wow, große Freude 👏👏👏
Großartig 👏🏻
👌
Hi! Would like to see a video about what gears you use to shoot your videos
I'm so looking forward to this Paul!😁👍
I really hope that I haven't said or done something wrong Paul??
did you all spot the pianola style keys playing themselves ...or are you haunted ooooooo spookey
That's what happens when using couplers on tracker-action organs. Nothing at all unusual about it.
Yaaaaaah!
Is there sheet music for this one - or will there be? i.e. In the library IMSLP?
Fantastic fun! Was the little trumpet keyboard added later or original to the rest of the instrument?
It is original.
May you one day teach us how to create our own grandorgue and hauptwerk samplesets?
Paul, congratulations to Bovenkerk Kampen!😜
Volkmar Busse
Oh, 3 hours only, wow! Did you see this in Kampen?
----
Infortunatly no! (I am in France) and I did not know the Paul program in Netherlands.
In fact, I just read the Paul respons at Dirk Smits one day ago in the Hinzs organ file: "I only had about 3 hours for both organs there, so I had to get used to it pretty quickly" .
In this case, it's absolutely amazing Paul's ability to appropriate an new organ and take advantage of colors and registration....

I'd like my speakers back please if you'd be so kind 😮😂
SG an alle Zuhörenden 🙋🏻♂️

Its a shame we can't use the church anymore, they let it go as a church and after renovations in the 60s (only cosmetic) the place is in a state of disrepair, without scaffolding the roof is going to fall. I loved that church but i can't see it being used as a "entertainment center"
