Btw at 17:55 i go in to take the tank hits cause ill win this tile eventually since its 6 spots from the airport, going for the long game here off a short bad engagement.
龙 (long) = dragon 哥 (ge) = older brother using 哥哥 is a cutesy/childish way of saying older brother. English version of "龙哥哥" is probably "Big bro Dragon" or "Dragon Bro"
A thing I like about Rachel is she's one of the best counters to Kindle in T3. Her DtD makes it so Kindle's COP can mostly be negated for ground units, and Her SCOP often targets large lumps of units, many of which will be on cities.
Had a match against Rachel. I now learned why people hate playing against her EDIT: the guy's name means, literally, Dragon Elder Brother, a more English grammatically correct translation could be Big Brother Dragon. The first character means Dragon, the second 2 mean older brother. I'm not sure if there's a poetic or metaphorical meaning to it though.

At 33:42 you can see Deejus get trapped. At 35:01 Deejus gets trapped again on the same forest tile. And definitely knew it was there. I'll chalk it up to imprecise cursor movement. Still pretty funny. 21:23 has to be a mistake right? By moving the 5 HP inf you get a first strike from a the plains instead of the road with the full HP tank but you have to scout with the 7HP, the forest tile is left open and a tank still ends up on the road anyway.

I do love it when you review games in the global league mainly cos i get some advice on how to play the map am really bad at going into new maps so vids like this are really useful to me.
Asked some friends that speak Chinese. The guy's user name translates to something like "big brother dragon" - "big brother" in the literal older sibling sense and not some Orwellian interpretation. I guess only the man himself could explain why that name but I'd personally interpret it as something akin to "the wise, powerful leader/role model". Also the sigma colin grindset psychological warfare tactics continue lol
Sub-nalysis time once again for the Halloween Deej special! 1:26 I played a T2 match on this map recently. Probably more difficult to pick a good CO than T3. Also I got surprised by the APC opener. Crux of this map is that you stay 2b for a very long time unless you can bust out an Arty. And probably even after you get the Airport because your opponent would get the prophylatic AA. So it is not good for the aggro overextending kind of player. (I won my match here specifically because my opponent was that kind of player, and then naively built B copters when my AA is ready to pick it off while my other units held the area.) So what you said about preserving unit count is spot on. You have enough income to go reliable builds and have remainders for repairs or a tech up option. 2:05 Mountains are not in good places, so I definitely opened recon on this map. The intel paid dividends and allowed me to guess well. Don't sleep on the missile though. Even Max Sigmissiles can scout just as well. 2:42 Forward base towards opponent airport, not as much. Rear base, very. It means your intel and preservation strategy is super important. 3:00 Yep. The guy who invented the sigma colin grindset. He has been on the map committee for some time, so he is not new to the scene. Loves to create maps. 3:45 Deejus showing he can swallow his pride to pick one of the best COs for this map. Expect nothing less from a top professional player. 4:50 Covering Fire was the reason I picked Rachel vs you on the Raid Boss map, but overtime, I appreciate the value of 3HP repairs and Lucky Lass (for clearing out dangerous units and formations) as I moved up the ladder. Especially in the early to mid game, even in late game, repairs when you have spare funds or you need to make more of a certain unit type can make your armour units more active than you might think. Sure it eats more money that could tech up, but even on smaller maps it still takes 2 turns for your unit to get there, and a few more for its impact to be truly felt. If I can wrap up what I need to do in those turns, your tech up is useless. Of course, you must be certain that the unit on the frontline now will continue to be useful as it repairs and when it finishes repairing, but once you figure that out, Rachel suddenly looks more valuable, especially on a 2b map like this. 6:00 Drake is 50/50 here. 2 base map means you won't get as much value out of his powers, but you won't get airports soon so Drake has some strength until you have to cap it. And if you do lose more units as Drake, with SCOP or COP, you cannot capitalise as much as you would like here. 6:40 龙哥哥 means Older Dragon Brother. 龙 = Dragon 哥哥 = Older Brother. Google is ambiguous here because it can also be younger brother, but in Chinese it will mean 龙弟弟 instead. So yeah... Quite a strong player, like most Chinese players here. 9:00 I recall you used to open early recon before you switch to tank spam. I do think some moderation helps especially in fog. You cannot attack without vision anyways, so pulling out one or two recons does not hurt that much. I used to spam tanks until Deej's 1300 MMR video and Kantbei's advice got me to evaluate recon usefulness. 10:00 Opening arty is a way to do it, but your opponent can see it if you head it for the airport. 10:38 Oh you... But yes, Deejus knows how to bait opponents very well. You should know this yourself in Tiny Wars. 15:25 3 recons this early is... a bit sus. I built 2 recons and even then, not immediately one after the other. If you know where the fights are, you don't need many recons unless you plan on aggroing with them. 16:54 Preserving or keeping infantry pressure was a key reason why I won a match here. 2b maps tend to have an infantry problem, so keeping them alive is key. They don't cost much too. 21:10 Airports are very close to contested areas. You are asking for it if you don't build an AA when your opponent's infantry is close. 23:25 Yep. Good play here. Revealing the arty position here when there is a better move would be a beginner to mid level player move. I would have also done the arty attack. Deej found a better combo. 25:40 Damn. That is a solid Covering Fire. Even if the Neo comes in, it won't do much. 26:47. You need to right click the player tabs on the top right to show the stats to turn. It is under "Open Stats" You're welcome. 28:00 Probably a risky move planner play. Baseskipping for bomber, but I say it is worth it here. The Neotank is the only threat here. Everything else is mush. 29:20 More AA from Dragon, but the troops are just in time to gain more tempo. 30:10 Notice now on the bottom right only Dragon decides to advance. I am guessing the Bomber was the cue, but if he had been more pressing and actively gaining intel after doing a forcing Neo tank move, I think he can call Deej's bluff. 30:50 Man, the balls on Deejus to try the overextension to identify and remove the threat. Mad respect. I do think the Bomber helps because it forces AA builds so much. You just need living tanks here for the bomber to be effective. 31:50 AA can whack bombers only at full HP. If it is like below 5, not worth it. Bombers are hardier than BCopters. 33:00 This so fucking much. I won and lost games because of infantry presence, regardless of how good or poor my tank battles or everything else went. 34:43 Ah yes, the Deej front switch. He must have sensed his overextension and smelt weakness on the bottom 36:00 Probably another bait. That bomber has little impact now with low fuel. Luring a healthy AA for scrap can be justified.
I'm a Rachel main what Mangs said is 100% truth I live on your salt, nothing makes me happier than your despair, even if I loose the match annoying my opponent is all that matters
I don't think Rachel is the one with the nuclear launch codes. It's basically her older sister, Nell, sensing that her lil sis is in danger~ So you better watch out, Jake.
One thing I noticed that would have destroyed Drake entirely, if Deejus had sight on the base on top when Drake built the second Neo Tank, he could have used the Bomber to block the only tile that units can move on and making a 22k worth unit useless, unless he destroys that unti and destroy the antiair so his units can't get out of the base. He just needed some sight on the base there!
There are shoals/beeches to the right of the factories, it would have forced the unit to move backwards away from the front, but it wouldn't have rendered it useless, just delayed, which tbf, probably could've helped, but it didn't matter in the long run.
So actually the chinese guy talks a crazy ton in the chinese QQ group and his name is indeed dragon brother but dragon can also just be a nickname he likes and brother is like senpai a bit or just a respect title of older brother
Just for the sake of commenting. While “龙” (read as Long) literally means dragon it’s a common Chinese first name (or a rare last name) Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee both have 龙 in their Chinese name. 哥哥means big bro.
I was about to say, even a Rachel hater should be able to pick Rachel on a 2 base map. You point out I think pretty accurately that fixed area damage like Rachel, Von Bolt (and even imo someone like Grit) are good on smaller maps with fewer bases, on account of the scale of the engagement. Like, these two SCOPs are far superior to, say, Typhoon damage wise and side effect wise, the only problem is their small area. But if the engagement and map are small enough, they're almost like globals. If you can hit their main force with them, it's not a big deal if you missed some random infantry on the sides. It's about as good as a global area-wise but with better effects. This match seems to confirm it. The pinpoint missiles were devastating. 7 units completely toasted, compared to Rachel who is already good at repairing and just sitting on her cities.
I actually do love playing against Rachel. She's the only CO other than VB/Sturm where you can use the move planner and nearly completely avoid the effects of her SCOP, especially if you play Andy.
Glad to hear you say that Rachel’s day to day is solid. Though, getting units back in the fight faster, while a positive, is not what I think is the best use. Rather, it makes engagements on friendly properties much more favorable, so much focus fire or superior firepower needed to take stuff out. In particular, in Dual Strike proper where you can put the extra heal skill on her as well, you got a rocket on a city that gains +4 HP per turn and had +30% defense from the city. Now imagine having one of those on every friendly city.
I have a match on that same map. I planned to pick rachel, but Lash seem to good to pass on. My opponent took Rachel and I was happy about that. Can't tell yet about the choice.
I think Rachel is a great CO. Additional HP repair on friendly buildings helps a lot. If you add an extra heal skill in DS, one can have a rocket on a city that gains +4 HP along with +30% def.
Mathematically speaking, Drakes global damage is as strong on a 2 base map as it is on a 3 base map. He will destroy 20% of the enemies army, no matter of the size. I even think that on two base maps he´s a bit stronger, as you tend to have more stronger units build there. Having a lot of infantry and light tanks on 8HP i annoying, but having a lot of high value units on 8HP might be even more more problematic
yeah but it's more correct to say that drake capability depend on the income of the map rather that number of base. the more SCOP he can pop, the stronger he become. income help you to build the power meter but not unit count. Other T3 CO SCOP isnt as good as drake in general (could argue with andy), except for rachel in a small map like this one
