    Social Security is not an entitlement. I earned that money and the government took it and said it would give it back to me when I'm old. That's not an entitlement.

      That’s quite literally what an entitlement is. Something you are entitled to, like social security…

    • @marshalbaek5580
      @marshalbaek5580 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      @ Welfare is an entitlement. You can qualify for Welfare and if you qualify, you are entitled to get money, food stamps etc. That's not the same as the government taking a portion of your pay with the intent to give it back to you when you turn 62 or 67 or whatever the age is for retirement. Not the same type of program.

    • @marshalbaek5580
      @marshalbaek5580 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      @ I think it's possible there is a disconnect because there are people that collect social security that never worked or contributed to the program. That could be why it's under the Entitlements heading. It's not managed the same way as all other government programs. Consider this: You have normal taxes and then you have a specific "Social Security Tax." It a program for one specific thing and you pay money into it with the agreement you'll get it back when you retire. Our normal tax dollars go to all kinds of things and we never will see that money again. It's meant to be spent on whatever the government decides to spend it on. Not Social Security. We know exactly where it goes. They can send you a statement and it will tell you how much you have put into the Social Security fund for "your" retirement. It's just completely different. Hope that helps clarify.

    • @aidangallagher4106
      @aidangallagher4106 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      @@marshalbaek5580 You’re right. Welfare is a conditional entitlement while social security is an unconditional entitlement. If you don’t qualify for welfare you aren’t entitled to it. The difference is that all Americans who make income are unconditionally entitled to social security. They are just two different types of entitlements. But that doesn’t mean social security is not an entitlement just because the two are different.

    Here's a question. Is now an ideal time to sell a home? In my neighborhood, Philly metro, homes are going for $150K to $225K over what we paid in this neighborhood in 2011. And they don't last on the market more than three or four days at those prices. If rent and home prices are going to be lower in the next administration, is this the best time to sell at an inflated value?

    • @axashuraggath7865
      @axashuraggath7865 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    Tariff's are probably going to be a bargaining chip more then anything else. Tariff's on China will be aimed at EV's and cars as American companies can't produce affordable vehicles anymore that people want. It won't fix the issue, it'll just slow it down. The real problem is that it's too expensive to produce and make anything in the U.S anymore and no Tariff's are going to fix that. In my eyes he'll either not follow through with most of them or will due to his huge ego and cause inflation again. We'll see what he does.
