My multimeter was showing a wrong reading of AC voltage (it was showing a lower reading than the true). I identified that the 100Ω resistor was measuring only 76Ω. I replaced it and the problem was solved. Thank you.
mine is showing higher than actual, It's a new meter and only thing I remember doing was measuring AMPS of a 35Ah 12v battery with rotary set at 20m by accident, I messed up.

Very educative video. Thanks for presenting. I have a different problem. I have put the probe to AC while in DC mode and the multimeter stopped working. Is it possible to repair? How to avoid this situation of absent-mindedness. I have quite a few multi-meters spoilt like this. Although you have mentioned at No 10 about changing D1 diode, my problem is more severe as my multi-meters are dead. Though I have lost hope, but before throwing the multi-meters I want your kind expert opinion.
@@FreeCircuitLab I have put to AC in resistance mode. DC voltage showing wrong reading when I connect 9V it shows approx 18V in max 20V mode and ~120V in 220V. AC voltage is working fine. And in DC voltage max 1000V is fine. In resistance shows reading when not connected but when connecting probes to each other works fine except 200 ohm mode. Continuity is fine. Sir Do you have any solution for it please help me. The main problem is I have UNITY in which resistor are not labelled and I don't have other multimeter.

If the chip is not driving the display, it means the chip is dead, No repairing is possible
