I totally agree with you. They need to buy some good walking shoes for Maryam, and start making her walk, otherwise you are going to have a toddler pitching one big tantrum after another when you can’t carry her because you are carrying the baby. Good times ahead.
These children are spoiled rotten for several years, and then all of a sudden they are expected to be miniature adults. Cleaning, cooking, watching the younger children, and helping with the goats. In my country we try to teach our children from a very young age to be kind, and teach them what the word “no” means. We pretty much don’t put much responsibility on them until they leave home. In school we teach them to be responsible for their school work, and homework. If they get a job as a teenager they learn responsibility, but typically the parents don’t expect much of them at home. The parents wear themselves out driving them to all their after school activities. Our children typically have a much longer childhood. After comparing the differences I guess it is okay if they spoil their toddlers, and carry them around because they don’t have a very long childhood compared to children in the western hemisphere.
