Just wanted to stop by and say that you and Jose have done a tremendous job on your channels. The Saturday stream was extremely deep for me as I heard a very deep philosophical point of view of your family and how much you all have gone through. Both of your channels have brought me happiness, lots of nostalgia, and educational material of what the Disney parks are now. Long story short, I came across Jose's channel spontaneously around the middle of October a little after Hurricane Milton hit. I was bored with working and needed to take a break and found that Jose was live streaming around the Disney resorts. From that point on, I was engaged with the stuff he was doing and became even more engaged that you are doing the same thing.
Your videos have helped me bring back some of the lost magic I had the last time I was at Disney world. In my lifetime, I've been to Disney World twice, one time in December 1992 during Christmastime and the last time was in June 1997. I was eight years old in 1992 and have a little bit of memories of that vacation trip. Long story short, I remembered riding Space Mountain for the first time with my mother, and I was extremely terrified of the experience as I did not know what to expect. That ride made me not ride roller coasters ever again. To name a few, we rode the Skyway (now defunct) at Magic Kingdom several times, attended the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea attraction (now defunct), and my father (who passed away in 2000) and my sister (two years old at the time) rode Big Thunder Mountain. Finally, I remembered being one of the lucky ones that received a commemorative coin to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Disney World park. They had a parade in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom, and one of the floats threw those coins towards the crowd. A lot of people wanted to get one, and apparently, one of the coins was very close to where I was. I jumped out and grabbed one before others did. I had that commemorative coin during my childhood and kept it very close to me during the many sad and difficult times when I was young. Unfortunately, over time, I lost the coin as I had misplaced and threw away a lot of items growing up. It most likely was thrown into the trash many years ago. That coin was a connection to my first Disney World experience, and most likely, it is gone forever. I also remembered some toys that were bought at Epcot as well including a battery rail twirler toy and some glowy neon sticks too. Over time, those toys were broken and were thrown away as well. The only thing I have left of that 1992 Disney trip were some old pictures including a picture with the teacup and clock mascot from Beauty and the Beast. In addition to Disney World, my family also drove all over Florida including stops at Tampa, Ft. Myers, Miami, Key West, and Cape Canaveral. At the end of the trip, we drove up I-95 towards Jacksonville and headed home to Atlanta. Overall, it was mostly an exciting trip and experience.
The most recent trip in 1997 was more memorable. I finished seventh grade and was on summer vacation. My father, my mother, my sister, my aunt, and I drove from Atlanta to Orlando during the second week to third week of June on a 1992 Plymouth Voyager minivan. I can exactly remember the hotel our family stayed at during the trip which was close to the Osceola Heritage Park. My father chose that hotel because it was the cheapest he could find knowing his miserly personality. It took nearly 45 minutes in the morning just to get to the Disney parks driving west along Irlo Bronson Hwy through Kissimmee. We went to Disney World twice, EPCOT Center, MGM Studios, and Universal Studios. In addition, my father took my aunt to see the NASA Space Center in Cape Canaveral. At Disney World, crowds were still long during that time, and being in the middle of June, it was very hot. To name a few, we went on the Skyway, drove those cars on the Tomorrowland Speedway, rode the People Mover a few times, ate tons of French pastries at EPCOT, saw the Indiana Jones experience at MGM Studios, and saw plenty of live entertainment throughout the parks. One of my favorite attractions was the Dreamflight ride in Tomorrowland. I don't know why but that ride was relaxing. It has now been replaced by the Buzz Lightyear attraction. We hardly bought any souvenirs, but we took many pictures of that vacation. Overall, the trip was amazing, and I remembered that depressing lonely sullen drive back home to Atlanta going along US-27, up to the Florida Turnpike, and up I-75.
Another thing about the 1997 trip that I also wanted to emphasize was that a one day adult ticket back in 1997 was about $40. In today's terms, that $40 in 1997 would have been a $78.67 ticket today, but we know a Disney ticket is far more expensive than that. Sadly, the price of admission at Disney now has far outpaced inflation which has gotten so bad the past few years. I can sympathize with many people's financial situations because I have had financial issues the past two years largely because of inflation and high taxes and the outrageous costs of expenses. I do feel some hope going into 2025, and I hope next year will be much better for your family.
I think I said a lot, but as a new member of your tribe, I wanted to share some of my past Disney experiences with you. Someday, I may be able to revisit the magic again. Your videos has helped me research and plan a future Disney trip soon. But now, I need to budget heavily knowing how extremely expensive it has gotten. Last but not least, never take what you love to do for granted. It is likely that God really put your family in Orlando for a reason so that your family can achieve your passion of speaking to us so we can share our Disney experiences with each other. You, Jose, Tendres, and your daughters and even Adrian are experiencing something daily that hundreds of millions of people include myself wished they could do. That is to experience Disney and the Disney atmosphere everyday. These are the days that your daughters will remember and thank you when they grow older. Your daughters are enjoying their childhood which is getting much harder for an average family today to enjoy. Even though I am 40 now, I still have heavy nostalgia of the times at Disney in 1992 and 1997. I really miss those days.
Keep up the good work, and I'll definitely be continually watching and chatting with you all real soon.
