You saved me a lot of time, I was getting frustrated and luckily I found your video. I had already purchased the namecheap and do account, sorry I can not help more than give your vid a like and thank you again.
Some ISP take awhile to propagate your site after making nameserver changes.....in my case its taken nearly 6 hours....so to just confirm that your site is working ok with the new domain i.e (incase at the end of this course pointing to your website timesout), go to your mobaxterm ubuntu command line (If you used mobaxterm), and type in at the command prompt as follows : root@mobiadva:~# curl www.mywebsite.com (subtitute with your website) curl www.mywebsite.com ....here your site should be served through cURL and you can therefore wait for your ISP to propagate before moving to the next stage.

I'm still a little confused, where are the files stored that control the look of site? How'd you get a gui with the terminal. Through my digital Ocean I am only seeing the black and white console but where are the files supposed to go? Any ideas?
he got that GUI using the software he mentioned (mobaXTerm). files are still there. you can go through them as you do in a linux machine. type ls to list filed and cd to enter folders....
Hi Mitch, got a problem. For some reason, I've deleted and created new Droplet. Now new droplet has New IP. I've changed the IP address of my domain to point to new one in DigitalOcean. But site is not running. I've restarted Nginx, Gunicorn but no use. When pinged from Terminal, I see my domain's IP still listed as Old droplet IP. Please help me. Thanks.
Thank you for this fantastic tutorial Mitch. At this point, when I visit my site via IP I still see the welcome to nginx default page. Is this supposed to happen?
Glad to find such a great tutorial and walkthrough. Really I can't appreciate enough. Thank you so much Mitch!
this tutorial was SUPER SMOOTH. AMAZING.
Awesome tutorial. I have a question, how to create a subdomain hosted by digitalocean and my domain is on the Namecheap?
