@@geriatrictrippin This isn't a fake rescue. An employee of the govt agency involved in these rescues films and posts them to his own YT channel, Jejek Forester. He posted this rescue a while ago and showed the rescue team handing this baby, Onyer, off to the BOSF sanctuary, where all their rescued orphans go. BOSF also posted about Onyer's arrival on their website. Lots of channels take these videos from the original owner and repost them without crediting the owner and viewers assume they're involved in these rescues. I don't know about this channel but I'm guessing it's also just a reposter.

I do not know whether you work in a shelter or you just post these videos, but I really appreciate all the job done. Orangutans are my favourite animals. People must understand that these beautiful animals are wild animals and they cannot be kept as pets. They belong to nature. They must also realize that they are an endagered species meaning that that they risk to be extinct within few years. Finally, the Indonesian people must take into account that these animals are an asset for their country, since they can only be found in Indonesia.

To see him live in his natural habitat it takes about 7-8 years or maybe more, he will enter baby school, and so on until he becomes an independent orangutan.

Omg! This is breaking my heart! He is so adorable! Number one on my bucket list is to be able to hold one of these precious little ones and be able to spend the day with one of them or even be able to take care of a few of them for a day! I don't know how I would even go about finding out how I could do that. If anyone out there has any idea how I would please comment back to me please.
I don't have a whole lot of time to try and do all the things on my bucket list but I do have at least 6 months. You see I have an auto immune disease called Igg4. It's hard to explain it but you can look it up . The disease is slowly getting to my major organs. It's not cancer yet but will be eventually. There is no cure for it, only medication that will keep it under control and help with the pain. Thank you everyone for taking some of your time to read this.
Sanctuaries don't allow volunteers near the orangutans in their care as there's a major risk of spreading contagious illnesses and they don't want the orangutans to become overly habituated to humans, as it makes releasing them back into the wild virtually impossible.
I don't understand. Are people afraid to hold him? Do they think the little guy will overpower them? Why not give him comfort and assurance instead of documenting his fear and loneliness?

If I couldn't hold him, I would've crawled inside that container and stayed with him. Just lock me in there til we got to wherever they were going. He has evidently been through so much trauma already if he has no parents. I couldn't stand to hear him cry because he is frightened and alone. He's just a baby. 😢

it is rare for him to find a surrogate mother in the forest, because she has not been able to survive and find her mother..that's why we took her to a rehabilitation center..there she will be taught how to andro and survive

He is absolutely a baby!! He is tiny. Orang’s cries are distinctive. Of coirse he is scared and traumatized by the loss of his mom. Just as a human infant would be - even at 3 years

Onyer was rescued and taken to the BOSF sanctuary in early 2021 by BKSDA, the govt agency that this channel owner works for. Onyer was held during the entire drive to the sanctuary and was only in the crate when the team stopped to eat and feed him as well. He's crying because he's been traumatized but he wasn't in the crate during any part of the long drive to BOSF. The crates are used for older rescues and those that may be ill, to ensure everyone's safety but babies, like Onyer, are held during the drive. This video is also on the Jejek Forester channel, who is also a member of this BKSDA team, and he explains all this in the comments. **The newest video on the BOSF YT channel shows Onyer and 2 other babies playing in forest school. All 3 babies are abt the same age and were rescued a around the same time.

Yes, it's just heartbreaking to see his little shrimp, who can't understands why someone killed his mother, and place him in the metal box, where he must staying by himself and getting scared more, this is extremely difficult moment's for wildlife animal's in normal development for 8 to 10 year's learning independent living.

Onyer was held during the long drive from the village where he was rescued to the BOSF sanctuary. He was only in this crate when the team stopped to eat and feed him, which is when this video was taken. It's heartbreaking and members of the rescue team post it to their channels in the hopes that people see the pain and trauma inflicted on these babies when they're snatched from their mothers. For the first two years, the baby is pretty much attached to the mother at all times and they cry like this when separated even for a min.
IT WAS SO TEASING TO THE BABY HEARING SOMEONE WAS COMING THAT WOULD TAKE HIM OUT OF THE CAGE AND WOULD HOLD AND CUDDLE WITH ,GIVE HIM THE ATTENTION HE SO WANTED AND NEEDED. WHEN HE HEARD ALL THAT RATTLING JUST OUTSIDE OF HIS CAGE AND HE WAS LEFT WITH NOONE GETTING HIM OUT HE WAS SO HEARTBROKEN AND DISSAPOINTING, IT MADE ME CRY WITH HIM AND FOR HIM. IF I HSD BEEN NEAR I WOULD HAVE GLADLY HELD HIM UNTILL THEY CAME TO TAKE HIM TO HIS HOME. I DO HOPE WHERE EVER HE GOES IF A SAFE PLACE AND HE GETS PLENTY OF GOOD FOOD FOR HIM AND LOTS AND LOTS OF LOVE AND ATTENTION. it is rare for him to find a surrogate mother in the forest, because she has not been able to survive and find her mother..that's why we took her to a rehabilitation center..there she will be taught how to andro and survive

How do you know he's crying for his mother? He probably wants out of that cage. He's 19 months old? How do you know that? He's not still a baby.
For you to know, orangutans just separated from their mothers around the age of 7-8 years... that means that the age under that is still a "baby".

Onyer was rescued and taken to the BOSF sanctuary in early 2021 by BKSDA, the govt agency that this channel owner works for. Onyer was held during the entire drive to the sanctuary and was only in the crate when the team stopped to eat and feed him as well. He's crying because he's been traumatized but he wasn't in the crate during any part of the long drive to BOSF. The crates are used for older rescues and those that may be ill, to ensure everyone's safety but babies, like Onyer, are held during the drive. This video is also on the Jejek Forester channel, who is also a member of this BKSDA team, and he explains all this in the comments.
**The newest video on the BOSF YT channel shows Onyer and 2 other babies playing in forest school. All 3 babies are abt the same age and were rescued a around the same time.

Yes, it's just heartbreaking to see his little shrimp, who can't understands why someone killed his mother, and place him in the metal box, where he must staying by himself and getting scared more, this is extremely difficult moment's for wildlife animal's in normal development for 8 to 10 year's learning independent living.
So sad little babe. It’s bad enough the lost of mom, but to be put into a small cage, not held, which is what the poor little babe needs. I do understand the cage is for the transfer. It’s just very hard for everyone involved, including the viewers. Bless the staff😊

Onyer was held during the long drive from the village where he was rescued to the BOSF sanctuary. He was only in this crate when the team stopped to eat and feed him, which is when this video was taken. It's heartbreaking and members of the rescue team post it to their channels in the hopes that people see the pain and trauma inflicted on these babies when they're snatched from their mothers. For the first two years, the baby is pretty much attached to the mother at all times and they cry like this when separated even for a min.
I am so sad for this sweet little guy. I hope he is in good hands now. In forest school!!

IT WAS SO TEASING TO THE BABY HEARING SOMEONE WAS COMING THAT WOULD TAKE HIM OUT OF THE CAGE AND WOULD HOLD AND CUDDLE WITH ,GIVE HIM THE ATTENTION HE SO WANTED AND NEEDED. WHEN HE HEARD ALL THAT RATTLING JUST OUTSIDE OF HIS CAGE AND HE WAS LEFT WITH NOONE GETTING HIM OUT HE WAS SO HEARTBROKEN AND DISSAPOINTING, IT MADE ME CRY WITH HIM AND FOR HIM. IF I HSD BEEN NEAR I WOULD HAVE GLADLY HELD HIM UNTILL THEY CAME TO TAKE HIM TO HIS HOME.
I DO HOPE WHERE EVER HE GOES IF A SAFE PLACE AND HE GETS PLENTY OF GOOD FOOD FOR HIM AND LOTS AND LOTS OF LOVE AND ATTENTION. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE SHARE A UPDATE SO WE CAN SEE HOW THIS BABY IS DOING NOW.

And this is how she is treated by her RESCUERS?? Is there a reason they cannot pick her up? Do they think she is a rogue beast that is going to kill them if set loose? And why is it necessary to put a board over the only place she can at least look out and see what is happening to her and her 'crate'. How much more scary is it for her that she can't even see. I believe the baby has been through enough.
