Excellent documentary about one of the greatest voices in jazz. You give Ella the well-deserved credit of being a great improviser with her scat singing. Hope that there is more of that in part 3.
Ella reminds me of my great grandmother. She lived in Mississippi and had to come North because she slapped a white woman that spat on my grandmother who was a child at the time. The white woman’s little daughter took my grandmother’s doll from and would not give it back. The KKK came after my great grandmother. Back in those days just looking at a white person could get you lynched.
Ella singing the Cole Porter's Songbook made me love her music even more, she did it so nice I cant explain. She will forever be on top of the list, Ella's voice is the best the world has ever heard.
Her voice was so beautiful and crazy....angelic Jazz goddess.

It don't matter what she sang she could sing . She can sing about a garbage bag I wouldn't care. Just want to hear her voice!

Was she the first teen singing sensation?
Chick webb died so young Ella and the Chick Webb orchestra
Not feeling the "she didn't know what this meant or who that person was". She was black in racist, classist America. Really annoying.
Exactly she wasn't supposed to know. Christopher Columbus was a colonizing, murder anyway
