Hey my dad gave me a 12$ responsive yoyo (henrys lizard, to be exact). It sleeps for 8 secons max, is that fine? (Spin dies very easy when something touches like the string)
8 seconds isn't enough at all I would say. I've been yoyoing for about 4 years and if you oil a good starter yoyo like the Fizz or the Sage, they should be able to sleep for 2+ minutes with a good throw. I started with the Sage.

Lol, you should make sure it’s not TOO tight, but only tight enough that it doesn’t fall off. It will take a little while for your finger to get used to the string wrapped around it, so just keep going and it will get better over time. If it gets to the point where you really feel your blood isn’t flowing, just take off the string for a few minutes and try again :)
have you guys ever looked at "strength based leadership" by gallup? its a test, but if you buy the book they essentially throw 1 test in for free. your team may find it interesting ;)
This a question for yotricks. Why don't you suggest more magic yoyos. I have the magic yoyo n5 desperado and it plays beautifully on the string. I've tried the Varitent yoyo and it's good but i think the n5 is better. Just asking.

If you are looking for an unresponsive yoyo then we would recommend the Arcade. If you are looking for a yoyo that can play both responsive and unresponsive, then go for the Sage.
I’m looking for a fairly silent yoyo because I don’t want to start playing with my yoyo and annoy everyone around me but I also want it to be able to do great finger spins too. I know that it must be a pretty hard find a yoyo like that out there but for the most part I’m looking for both those features, or one or the other any suggestions?

If it has a bowl like shape on the "wings" of the yoyo then it's good for finger spins and the bi metal shutter I think has a higher sleep time if I'm correct
My arcade yoyo just arrived and I was loving it bit suddenly it juste started playing responsively. I have tried using lube and it didn't help. Should I try cleaning the bearing?
If your bearing is playing responsive and lube doesn't help, the next thing to try is cleaning it. If that does not work let us know and we will help you out.

The reason I ask is because I see a lot of people saying responsive play is good for beginners, but does responsive play also include string tricks in the same way? We are not huge fans of most of their yoyo. Occasionally they make a yoyo we enjoy, but in general they seem to miss the mark for us.

Personally I prefer the Marco. It is wider and plays a little faster, which I like. If you are more into 5a, however, you may prefer the Space Cowboy.

Ummm, are you untying the string at the knot? The part that goes around the axle is the opposite end of the string.
