Dan, it is the coolest thing to watch you put back together a car that's been apart for decades. Bringing these cars back to life is the coolest thing to see!!! Anyway, thanks for the video 📸.
It's great that you are going through the pieces and parts sitting around forever and using them. It's like when I have a wood project and 75 percent is found at home.
Dan, no matter what, I still think this is one of your best projects ever! Just keep rocking it your own special way and there will be a lot of driving enjoyment down the road.
My Grandpa from the Great Depression Era would give you two thumbs up on this build! You are building it the way he would've built it, the RIGHT WAY! It is being built with good old useable parts and with a good budget in mind. Not breaking the bank to build. A real man's build because it's built with love and blood & sweat 😅 and tears. Thanks for the video 📸.
I spit my beer across the room , with the 150 rear trim, identifies as front fender chrome , LMMFAO, Dan is not only awesome car guy , but a comedian as well , Dan is the man , I wish he move to east Texas area , I would help for free
Fellow Canuck here, at the end of it all you saved a 57 chevy VIN tag and your buddy's dog. All good in my books. Then again us Canucks have always done things on a principle!
Dan I watched Merlins video so I could see the 57 he has.I would of gave him the vote for rattiest 57 since it was a twisted wreak but the powder coated frame cancels that out,DD speed shop for the win.Using as much of what you have around to put this car together is what most of us would do to get it on the road.
The two long straight pieces of the window hardware go to the door glass, they are attached to the door glass with the four fine thread screws after sliding the framed glass down the two channels with the felt strips in them. You are decidedly the Tri-5 Master car builder. You do the very best job of explaining how to go about assembling all your car projects. Great job Dan. ri-5
Back in the 70’s we used to find tri5 chevy’s in back yards and wrecking yards,And put rat rods together . I wasn’t into cars I have owned every model year Chevy truck from the 40’s to today a 2014 of all the cars all I have left is a set of 57 rockets . I still own a 57 gmc and a 62 4x4 Chevy factory frame . Most of the cars we put together and rallied the $hit out of my friends dads took and restored them . My son hates going to car shows with me because I’ll say I own one of them ,I own one of them , he would asked what happened to them ,I told him I sold them so I could buy more . Keep up with what you do. Love your channel.
Hey Dan, I have a 69 Camaro, it got burnt real bad, when my house and garage burnt down, want to those Camaros done next project, or at least this winter, long time subscriber, since almost your beginning, but love your devotion, work a job, and still get cars done fast, good job dd speed shop worth watching definitely
Hey Dan, I like when Danielle came in to see it was dinner time. At 36 minutes into the video, you moved real fast to go in for dinner. lol The 57 is coming together slowly but surely. Love your channel and videos. Take care and be safe.
Dan , you do things like I was raised , use what you got and modify to work , thats why your channel is my favorite of all TH-cam land . The only difference between you and me is , I always did the hard body work and paint work to make it look perfect to the untrained eye , patina wasnt cool back in the 80s and 90s , monochromatic was the thing in those days , so psinted bumpers and trim pieces was considered cool cool
Dan. You are truly the KING OF HACK. I'm not sure how you do it. But you always seem to figure everything out. No matter the dilemma you're facing. Love it man keep it going.
I’m lovin the 57 hard top Bud , rather it was old school sbc but , more reliable cold weather LS has its bonuses lol great Job, and it is hard to believe , you don’t have every piece ya need
Dan, I just have to say that you are the coolest cat 🐈 around! You are so funny and charismatic. Every episode is so cleverly funny 🤣 and you don't even have to try to succeed. Great job 👍
Dan, I've got to say this is one of your projects ever! You've done a wonderful job so far of saving this car for a lot of enjoyment down the road.Looking at it now, it's hard to believe what a derelict it once was.
Dan explain to me just how ya got the handle : dan, dan , the butcher man , oh boy all I see is : thriftiness ; how about dan, dan the nifty fifties thrifty man ! Better suits your builds , that fall less tha
This is perfect! Trial fit all parts, then take apart, do repairs and final assy. You should make alot more youtube hours, and wont have to buy and build so many cars to make content.
awesome welding and grinding on top of fender thats a big yes for me! i am going to make a future goal to find a 1957 hardtop in worse condition and make it even ratty-er. love your videos very inspirational and when i get in the worlds rattiest 1960 f100 and drive to a barn site to do some welding i feel proud.you are the tri 5 man
I have the correct stainless for the lower quarter panel.. some dents I am in south Caralina. You pay shippenI may have some other trim I have to look.
She is coming along real nice, you did a good job welding that trim imagine if you took the time to Tigg - weld those pieces, nobody would know that you welded them together.
Since your such a good welder you might consider an autoginis weld with a tig welder for the hacked moldings. That is basically NO filler metal in the weld. Basically melting the two pieces together. Then you could do a little grinding with some fine grit and polish some and you have a solid piece. Just an idea. Good luck. Have fun.
@Dan you mentioned doing body work...the spraymask you have is shot. When you buy a new one keep it in a Ziplock Bag, it will last years as long as it stays sealed.
I feel that Boyd Coddington and his team built some incredible vehicles, but his management style was... lacking, ie: for his team doing such a great job on the previous difficult build, he gives them an even harder build, with less time. GREAT, even more pressure, thanks. ;-) At 6:39; Be careful, you nearly got yourself with the grinder.
Dude you gotta do the rear quarter trim without the bel.air insert. Just a suggestion but either way youll knock it out of the park! #rattytrifivesforlife
Great job Dan! Love your channel and Danni. Another 57 rat rod that could be added to the distinctive 57 revival group with Merlin and Newbern and yours is that 57 wagon rat rod project from a couple years ago by a builder that i forget at the moment. It might have been a cable channel quick build for SEMA or something. It had a 57 headlight as a hood scoop. Wish I could remember the owner/builder name. I think it was originally a Sierra gold wagon found in the junkyard.
Actually after a little research and warming up my brain the 57 I'm thinking of was the 2013 ITW RatRod 3 week/3,000 dollar budget build called "NOmad".
You are getting there! I think the hood leaves a little to be desired. Im growing a liking for the bug catchers. Im thinking the Fargo needs a crusty one.
Im going to guess it was a Springer Spaniel that whizzed on your be lair insert. A cousin of Duff's, would be my guess 😂🗿 Excellent progress Dan. Looking good👍
I loved Dani's poses holding up the hood. Lol Is it possible to drop ship a package of t-shirts somewhere close to the border and go pick them up to bring them into Canada? I could order one sent to my son and ask him to send it from Syracuse
I know you don't want a lot of body work, But I was at a car show, (I live near Notre Dame USA) and they had a decal that looked like the side trim (clear coated) on there 57, and it looked amazing.
The ratty beast is comin together Dan!!! Gonna be a cool cruiser you can park in the snowbank and not feel too ashamed. Rock on 🤘! First time seeing a Ford thunder bolt style scoop on a chevy..interesting!
The best part of this build is that you helped a friend's dog🐕🐶🐕🐶.
Dan, it is the coolest thing to watch you put back together a car that's been apart for decades. Bringing these cars back to life is the coolest thing to see!!! Anyway, thanks for the video 📸.
What a transformation this '57 build has been - you are rocking it Dan & Danni!
It's great that you are going through the pieces and parts sitting around forever and using them. It's like when I have a wood project and 75 percent is found at home.

Foose would be impressed.
2:31 camshaft gate handle… nice work, Dan!

Awesome Dan. The best compliment I can give is"I WANT IT"
Fellow Canuck here, at the end of it all you saved a 57 chevy VIN tag and your buddy's dog. All good in my books. Then again us Canucks have always done things on a principle!
love watching you take three truck loads of parts, two frames, and a bucket of clips and building a car!

Front "rounded points" on bumper are affectionately know as Dagmars. Named after busty Swedish model/actress.
That's right haha
Another cool ride for the road. Your doing great things Dan.
Not like you to procrastinate with a big task staring you in the face. Damn cold weather.
Dan. You are truly the KING OF HACK. I'm not sure how you do it. But you always seem to figure everything out. No matter the dilemma you're facing. Love it man keep it going.
I think you three guys are onto someting! Time to dump my frame off '55 Hardtop and go find a basket case roller hardtop! Keep up the great work!
Haha do it
New name for the project, Patches? Love the way you solve the problems. Andy

Great job 👍
I’m not gonna get all pie eyed but yeah, he’s definitely easy to listen to. Most importantly, he doesn’t take himself too seriously
Thanks buddy! I like to have a good time

Hey Dan, Tom here. Just wanted to let you know I got my shirt the other day and it's a good one! Love the videos! Keep up the great work!
I always liked the old-school 57 gassers without the grill and bumper with the small keg in the front!
Great vid can’t wait to see the final product
I know better than to offer any suggestions 😅
I just watch and learn. Thanks for sharing! 😊👍
School is definately in session man.
I had a hood prop like that once. My mom came and took it and spent the rest of the day in the emergency room
😮😮😮😅 Good job young man.
This is perfect! Trial fit all parts, then take apart, do repairs and final assy. You should make alot more youtube hours, and wont have to buy and build so many cars to make content.
She's coming together really nice.

Polishing a pig! Or something like that… 😂 loving it thoroughly
Dang that trim can be a time taker! Cheers from Junk's Automotive
She is coming along real nice, you did a good job welding that trim imagine if you took the time to Tigg - weld those pieces, nobody would know that you welded them together.
Nice! Thanks man
That box of 57 parts is priceless. Parts are getting hard to find for those.
Since your such a good welder you might consider an autoginis weld with a tig welder for the hacked moldings. That is basically NO filler metal in the weld. Basically melting the two pieces together. Then you could do a little grinding with some fine grit and polish some and you have a solid piece. Just an idea. Good luck. Have fun.
It's cool that you helped an animal and I do love dogs and cats. Can is Dan the tri 5: man. Love watching all the content.

GREAT, even more pressure, thanks. ;-)
At 6:39; Be careful, you nearly got yourself with the grinder.
The reverse teardrop hood scoop is the BEST touch for your 57 Dan! Throw away your snorkels and pro mods!😆
The right amount of garbage haha

You're doing good dude keep up the good work.
"The Rattiest Chevy" sounds like the title of a Christmas story where the wakes up on Christmas morning to Candies and Nuts and a new Paint Job 🥰
Dan - spend the money on the complete trim set - you won't regret it. Nice trim and wheels makes it more better.
You are getting there! I think the hood leaves a little to be desired. Im growing a liking for the bug catchers. Im thinking the Fargo needs a crusty one.
Not everyone has good taste ha
