I have some of the best memories of my life from my trip to South Africa 20 years ago.I spent 3 days on safari at a private game reserve and 3 days in Cape Town. I saw herds of elephants, rhinos, played with baby lions stroked cheetahs at a rescue centre, saw whales in Hermanus, stayed at a fantastic hotel in Cape Town and flew over Table Mountain in a helicopter. The food was delicious and the people so nice .I didn't want to leave, always said I would go back one day.

I am from South Africa and I always recommend my international friends to at least visit any rural area in South Africa. The city and wild life isn't the only beauty of South Africa, but the rural lifestyle or environment could teach the world one or two things about South Africa.

I visited South Africa in the (southern) fall of 2016. It was a long and expensive travel, but it was worth. The country is blessed with a serene and varied beauty and its people is the kindest, friendliest I have ever met. I didn't visit some of the places of this video. I hope to do in the future. Why is Port Elizabeth so unpopular? I went there this December and it's beautiful and the people there are so relaxed and unbothered... I enjoyed the sand dunes in Sardinia Beach bay, the rock pools by the ocean etc so underrated

I am from Mpumalanga, it is so beautiful. I now live in Port Elizabeth, it is also amazing. PE is a Bottlenose dolphin Capital of the world, a World whale heritage site, and one of South Africa's Hope spots. If you wanna have a marine and land safari in one day, come to PE.

If yall ever head over to mossel Bay make sure to go on the zip line there it's the longest zip line to cross the ocean in the world
And if yall ever in Capetown make sure to go on table mountain there's cable carts that take you up there and u walk around on the top u have amazing challenges to do their is restaurants there and the view is amazing
And my family has a tradition we go for a capetown tour all around to Chapman's peek all the way to waterfront ( if you love to go somewhere boujee go to waterfront)and the drive is soo amazing and the scenery of all the mountains and ocean is beautiful

They won the lottery on weather animals and all the majestic parks n stuff 😍 so lucky to live there
Lived there for a couple of years and have been a very frequent visitor since. A great list, but omitted are the “Wild Coast” of the Eastern Cape and the coast of the northern end of KwaZulu Natal (bordering Mozambique). Both are scenically stunning and nearly deserted- you can walk a golden beach with pounding surf under a unique coastal forest ridge for miles and see hardly anyone. Both outstanding for whale watching and other wildlife. Some hotels and lodges are very exclusive - remote and expensive but outstanding 5 star in the wilderness stuff - but there are also some really lovely family-friendly places, locally owned and run with friendly staff and good standards, that are bargains by European/North American standards.
BTW the Blyde River Canyon and Kruger Park are close to one another and easily combinable for a week from a base in say Hazyview (short drive from the airport at Mbombela/Nelspruit), maybe the video should have mentioned that.

Always put some money aside so that at least once in a year or two you travel the country, you will be hooked. Im left with only the North Province to visit. Btw this video only touched the surfaces, so many beautiful gems out there to see.
