You can adjust it to turn on at a certain throttle % so that doesn't happen. I have mine set to only turn on at 100% throttle input with the clutch pushed in.
@@suicidebunnyz hey buddy I want to do.this to a auto car. But I want to.have a switch for it so It dont 2 step everytime i hit brakes. Go with delrin bushings. Get the oem dimensions of your bushings and send some delrin to a machine shop and sleeve them with aluminum sleeves, worst case.
Just found your channel. I'm not a real dedicated car guy but I enjoy seeing what can be done on the aftermarket. Your videos are honest and simple. Earned another SUB.
Caleb, you should talk to Matt Carriker from OffTheRanch/DemolitionRanch/VetRanch. He owns Bunker Branding Co. and would more than likely help you out with merchandise like shirts and hoodies
Solid suspension bushings aren't really a thing. If you want something like that, your best bet would be heim joints. These are extremely expensive for a small performance gain and you would need custom control arms to run something like that. You'll see them a lot on wise fab setups and racecars in general. Poly bushings or new rubber bushings are definitely your best bet. Energy makes good bushings for a decent price. I use them on my Legacy GT and they squeak just a bit.
My dad used to have a ‘68 Firebird with trans-am spec suspension set up with advice from a former factory race engineer. He asked him about metal bushings and he said they’re a real pain on street cars. You need to make sure all your clearances are dead nuts perfect or you’re essentially going to have solid suspension.
Gingium, you are the only actual humble car youtuber and you make great, "cheap" builds and you have great taste in cars Thank you for that ^_^ Greetings from Switzerland
most people shop around and spend quite a bit of time buying a new vehicle that has everything, or almost everything that they want, and then there are the people who get a good looking vehicle and add what they want to it. i recently picked up a 1984 dodge pickup in great shape for next to nothing, and now im slowly saving money to make it into a capable off road machine, but eventually i might turn it into an overland rig
That cruise control switch is really just a two buttons. 6 wires (signal and ground for each button and the indicator light). I belive the Ecu can probably be programmed to switch launch control on and off with a button press, but you are right it couldn't be done the way you wanted to, atleast easily.
Hey Gingium, I did the AWR Motor Mounts today along with Delrin Diff bushings and let me say I 100% recommend the both of them combined. The only problem with the AWR Motor mounts is that you definitely want a heads up. The NVH will be strong as fuh at idle for the first 500 miles. It supposedly mellows out. But as for the performance, I haven't missed a shift yet. It's solid as all hell now! And it rev matches way easier, along with blipping the throttle, it all performs a hundred percent better than before. And I even previously had the 40% stiffer competition rubber motor mounts, and they honestly only lasted about 200 miles for me before they got bad. So I'd recommend the AWR Poly motor mounts for you from Fab9tuning. As well as the Delrin diff bushings. Don't get any other look-alikes from other manufactures, they are even harsher I've heard but don't perform anywhere near as good sadly. And as a side note, please let us know if you find a nice (hopefully affordable) solution for upgraded suspension bushings. I'm looking for that right now as well!
I respect the fact that the only thing you’re advertising for in your video is education. Getting real tired of everyone telling me to download raid shadow legends
well my friend just called you cailou and now I’m upset because it seems to be true. Sorry bud. Edit: at least you have a car, a fairly popular yt channel, and 2-step on demand.
Its so funny you made this because my 95 was doing the exact same thing as your car. The only that worked is when I set it to just launch control. But now someone solved my problem lol. I thought of adding a switch but never got around to it.
Delrin diff bushings helped my miatas wheel hop soooo much! Its pretty much gone now. And as you mentioned engine mounts help a lot as well. I had bad wheel hop and did those two things only and its gone!
I think I found why, I got the fm variable tps and I think that you need to reach higher value that the one you use to decide at witch % you want it to be on.
Im trying to do the same thing to my car but i am too retarded somone plz help. 2 wires on my clutch switch 3 spots on my toggle and one wire from the ecu. what goes where?? ]
Pro-tip - The powerplant frame (PPF) found in Miatas and some other cars like the RX7 causes a majority of your wheelhop. You can delete it, but you need to get or make diff and trans mounts.
FYI: pinout for all generations of cruise control switch are pretty well documented with some googling. The trick with the switch in NA's is some of them are momentary switches, some of them are continuous, based on year. Your switch looks pretty decent and stealthy though. For example: forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=51579 I had to go through the same process when I retrofitted factory cruise and fog lights into my NB.There's 3 different dash harnesses possible for a NB Miata based on options. How dumb is that?!
Can you make an entire video on the question of whether a Miata is a good first car? Like pros&cons, mpg, safety, insurance (16-20 year old guys), and whether a hardtop is a good option. Thanks! Love the channel and Molly is my dream car lol
If you do this mod, does it mean the car won't start without the launch control switch set back to on? Or does the megasquirt not have the same clutch safety protocol as the stock ecu. I'm asking because I'm in the process of making my megasquirt wire harness for my 1.6 so this is something I'll be approaching in the near future. Thanks for making these informative videos!
I seriously feel that wheel hop man. my stock NB suffers from it too, so im always scared to spin the wheels in a straight line even in the rain, cause the suspension just goes mad. I havent found any solutions online either besides like "just get better suspension" yeah no shit what do you mean better suspension... even with all your chassis and suspension mods its still there, and solid bushings are not the greatest option for a half daily.
I'm currently trying to wire launch control with a rocker switch without using the clutch switch. Do I route power into the Megasquirt's "launch" pin or route the pin to ground????
Cruise control switch + relay would work .. keep in mind that the cruise control switch always resets to off after shutting the car off ..anyways, this also seems to be a good solution ..

If you suffer with rubber bushings, try to machine out an aluminium bushings with simple lathe. I used them on rallye Skoda. :-)
Molly is almost a resto modded car. That's amazing what you've done with one small, happy miata. :)
No such thing as a restomod
Go to a machinist and have them make you metal bushings for Molly, Or talk to tommyfyeah he got some for his car
John Chassie-Rideout it can get very expensive for machining bushing for a complete car
