May I just add that would-be pageant contestants should also introspect on what their real advocacies or core values are, and not because "having an advocacy" is a "pre-requisite" before competing in any pageant. Marginalized communities aren't playgrounds. Maybe there's no need for community involvement as long as they are their genuine selves. Maybe it's also time to rethink how do they truly understand "advocacy." Advocacy may not necessarily equate to "community service."

@@warriorblinks8120 Salamat sa earnest response. This isn't about Kisses in particular. I'm referring to the recent "trend" of pushing for certain advocacy in local/international pageants.
What I'm saying is that people should really mean their advocacies and not just tick off that box as a "requirement." Sana may malalim na pagtingin sa community involvement. Hindi sana siya tignan as "kailangan may advocacy kasi it's a plus for a candidate to have one." Hindi lamang sana siya tignan as a "project."
Definitely, may mga ilan ding naging passionate about their advocacies and that's wonderful dahil mas nagkakaroon ng public awareness at ang mga communities ay nabibigyan ng opportunities to be visible/represented.
Maaari pang pag-isipan papaaano nga ba dapat tignan ang pagkakawang-gawa in the context of joining a pageant in which parehong ang contestant, pati na ang communities, ay magiging genuinely represented and empowered.
