  • This cabin was disgusting and needed to be transformed. This 50 year old Catamaran has been a huge project, but its nice to finally be doing some cosmetic improvements to our floating home. We went for loft style in this one, let us know what you think!!

Great job, team!!! Nadi, you are definitely a true gem of China. We love you very much. Your unwavering love for Mark is so precious, and he is for you. Everything is coming along, so nicely. I agree, though, that a wooden piece with a U cutout would look much nicer. You could even cut out an entire door than opens and folddown to give you access to the inside. Just my little opinion. But what you have done will work for now, and we realize that some shortcuts are due to cost. You've both done so much, and Nadi has worked so hard, turning it into a real home. You too, Mark! Home is where the heart is. Keep loving each other, communicate well, never go to bed mad at each other ♡♡
I can't wait to see the next episode and what you do to the other side. Much love, and God bless you both from USA-TENNESSEE

Put that wire back! It provides a pathway to ground for if your rigging is hit by lightning. Actually get bigger wire, like for jumper cables. Otherwise the lighting might arc through your hull to get to ground. You should have these sorts of things strategically placed around your boat connecting your rigging to ground. In a storm you can also attach some chain or steel cable to the rigging and dangle it overboard. I keep a specially adapted set of jumper cables for this purpose.

Well done, it looks fresh and clean. A Ship right told me while seeing his new boat still being built of wood. He explained how every metal bits are earthed to the battery and through the hull. Glass boats often burn to the waterline or disappear at sea. Static electricity builds in the hull, then one day archs to something metallic which often is a fuel tank. So the wire you removed in your cabin is worth investigating about earthing out to the steering or through the hull. I learned that in the time of lightning it may be a good idea to wrap a chain at the base of the mast and into the water to earth out a lightning strike.

    Dear Nadiyana and Mark,
The interior of Minky starts to look a lot more out of the today’s time and style. We hope the complete interior will get the same make over. We also hope the engine will be back in the boat soon but we recommend you to make the compartment -where the engine needs to be mounted- bright white first so you can notice right away if any leaking of the engine will appear in the future. Furthermore we wish you lots of success in getting Minky back on sea and we wish you as well as you beloved family lots of happiness plus we send you ❤️ from the Netherlands.
    Best regards,
    Willeke and Dick de Graaff

I have seen him feeling overwhelmed by the mountain he and Nadi have to climb fixing this boat. But both of you seem able to cope better now. Love can heal. Do not lose your love for each other. I had the good fortune to visit China for two months in 2008 with my Chinese friend and her family whose home is in Shanghai. We traveled to conferences from Beijing to Nanning. I found the families warm and caring people. Nadi exemplifies those characteristics.

Nadiyanna has made the inside of the boat a home from the day you moved in, she’s amazing that way.... I was one of those people crying about the wood when I saw Mark start priming it but I’ve changed my mind, it looks wonderful in gray, although I was happy that you’re saving some on the other side. The whole boat is starting to come to life, it almost seems “whiter” or new again!
