Once lived a happy little Aussie boy named Jake. But one day, he felt a spark in his heart which grew into a dream. And from then his hard and lonely journey to I-Land began. But once he walked through the gates of I-Land, his life changed. He met friends and got a step closer to his dream.. •••Into the I-Land••• When they were learning the choreography, Jake, along with Youngbin were struggling to keep up with the other ilanders because of their short training period. When they were asked to danced individually, Niki said that out of all the trainees, he think that Jake did it best. It’s just a shame that his mic dropped because I really wanted to hear his vocals. (but his vocals doesn't disappoint👏 you heard that duhleego??😂) Producers comment: “He seems like he doesn’t know what to do. He didn’t get the choreography right. I had no choice but to give him a low score.” He had the lowest score (40) and was sent to the ground •••Fire••• In the interview Jake said that He felt so bad and embarrassed about having the lowest score in Into the I-Land. Despite that, he didn’t let those feelings take over him and he used that experience to strive harder. I really applaud him for that because If I were in that position I think I would just feel demotivated and lose trust in myself. “I personally don’t want to fall behind so I’m trying really hard and my only thought is going back to I-Land” -Jake For this test, I was really moved by the performance of the Grounders. They really had that FIRE in them! I think this is one of the most memorable stage in I-Land Producers comment: Rain: Jake is good Wonderkid: Jake got my eyes from that arm movement. He didn’t lose his energy throughout the stage and performed very well •••Representative Unit••• For this test I just want to say thank you to all of them for practicing so hard even if they are part or not part of the rep unit. You’ve all worked hard •••I&Credible••• When they were choosing who would do part 5, K thought that Jake would do a good job and Heeseung was contemplating between Jungwon and Jake He was able to learn the choreography fast and taught some of the ilanders the dance moves (the growth? from struggling to keep up with the choreo to teaching some of the ilanders the choreo) Jungwon: Jake hyung is good at this choreography. Hyung improved a lot since Into the I-Land In the interview Jake said “During the Into to the I-Land test, I struggled because it was all new to me. I was disappointed in many aspects but I think I improve during the Fire test and I’m glad the results were good as well. I know I am not perfect but I feel very proud of myself. I’m gonna stay confident and practice hard. I’m gonna do everything to survive. “ For this performance he got a score of 75 (the growth? from being the lowest to being the 4th highest) Producers comment: Pdogg: For me personally I always felt he performs less than what he practiced for. During the 2nd test I thought, “How did he improvise like that?” because Jake keeps on growing With this stage and along with evaluating his past performances, the producers picked him to proceed to part 2. Thank you pdnims for believing in Jake •••Start of Part 2••• Bang PD and Mr. Son’s comment “He had a short training period and he wasn’t fully prepared before coming on this show so I was worried a lot but Jake improved a lot faster than I expected, and showed us results.” “Personally I was very glad to see Jake improve so much.” •••I Need U••• We got to see rapper jake and if you compare his facial expressions from into the i-land to i need u there is a big improvement! During their mid evaluations, Mr. Son told him to work on his facial expressions on the part where lyrics says “go away” and you can see on his performance that he really worked hard to improve it. He managed to make it to the top 7 of the producers ranking Producers comment: “I think this guy is quite ambitious. He doesn’t have much experience. It’s not like we look out for him but he is saying like ‘look at me, look at what I’m doing’ on the stage. I know where I am at so I have to practice harder. I am falling behind other four people.” -Jake after the mid evaluation- “I came a bit faster in tempo overall I thought that maybe I can hurt the entire team I think I should work even harder” -Jake is quite worried since each person has a solo part- “There are lots of solo parts and if I have nervous glances and awkward gestures, I think I can hurt the song.I do feel the pressure. I think what the producers said about Jake that he has a charm that makes you keep on looking at him, has the same energy with what Heeseung was trying to say when he said that Jake has something that the other trainees can’t imitate or follow he has his own vibe. •••Final Episode••• He did part 5 in I&Credible and finally we heard him sing Into the I-Land live!! Mr. Son Sung Deuk’s comment “When I look back on I-Land, there were numerous trainees but I think you’re the trainee who showed the greatest growth. While watching you performance, the parts you had you had to carry through and the parts you had to perform, clearly showed off your abilities and beyond that. I thought it was great. I want to applaud you for your growth. Good job” ••• ••• To the first trainee who caught my attention, At first I taught you were just an eye candy but you kept on surprising me with every episode. Jake truly proved us in this show that he’s more than just visual. I mean look at that boy dance improvement despite him being the trainee with the shortest training time, listen to how much his voice improved, his facial expressions, his rap, his charisma, his kind personality... And I don’t know if it’s just me, but I really love his voice tone. Whoever is still saying he ranked high because of his visual, it’s just purely hate and jealousy.

“He had a short training period and he wasn’t fully prepared before coming on this show so I was worried a lot but Jake improved a lot faster than I expected, and showed us results.”

We got to see rapper jake and if you compare his facial expressions from into the i-land to i need u there is a big improvement! During their mid evaluations, Mr. Son told him to work on his facial expressions on the part where lyrics says “go away” and you can see on his performance that he really worked hard to improve it.
He managed to make it to the top 7 of the producers ranking
Producers comment:
“I think this guy is quite ambitious. He doesn’t have much experience. It’s not like we look out for him but he is saying like ‘look at me, look at what I’m doing’ on the stage. I’m excited about his future”

He knows the areas in which he is lacking and tries his best to improve his skills.

“I thought I had to get first place. I’m not sure if I can get first place but I’ll do my best“
-Jake thought he was gonna be eliminated in their BTS Test but ended up ranking 7th-

What happened during the performance? The vocals, dancing skills, facial expression, and stage presence were all on point. Whatever the feedback he gets from the producers during their mid evals, he always try his best to correct it and improve it and it shows in his performances.
He really deserved that rank 1 because HE WORKED HARD FOR IT. (what the babie wants, the babie gets)

“You really looked cool since the entry. I could focus on you and you didn't fall behind among these top ranked guys.Your singing, dancing, and acting. You surprised me. He improved a lot. He's been growing steadily.“

I think what the producers said about Jake that he has a charm that makes you keep on looking at him, has the same energy with what Heeseung was trying to say when he said that Jake has something that the other trainees can’t imitate or follow he has his own vibe.

His months of training was really hard for him but he never gave up, he worked harder to his dreams instead. And look at our Icon of Growth now, he will debut as an ENHYPEN member soon.
