I was in a specialised mask shop in Venice just 2 months ago and they explained me the exact same story. So nice of hearing this story again. I feel like being there again.

I bought an authentic carnevale mask in Venice earlier this year at a shop called Ca'Macana. Wish I could have bought one of every kind!

Soooo cool!! Got here after Martin G Spataro's "Teatro Magico". And I don't regret at all! Great upload!

The Carnival is one of my favorite European celebrations (so yes, I watched your recent video on that). I asked my parents for a half mask a few years ago when they went to Venice and they bought me 2! Love the artistry that goes into making them and the history behind it!

Hahaha, I would love to have the masks culture comeback in modern-day. So I can mask up and go and do thing I was not suppose to do

Usually what tourists do is walking inside a mask shop without saying hi, touching stuff, taking pictures, and then leave without saying bye.

The venetian mask was explained to me while visiting Venice. I had no clue what it's real purpose was. If I hadn't gone there, I would just associate them with Mardi Gras! You travel, you learn!

This isn’t quite accurate. I have been to this shop many times. The man who makes the masks in that shop is very famous.

Made in China all. Real hand made Venitian mask no longer exist.
Most are plastic and not papier maché.

Hi Rick. Going to Venice in two weeks, and the ol' Rog and chain was asking about the history of masks (you know how they are), this video perfectly satiated my Rog in under 3 minutes.
Keep up the good work, you earned a subscriber today and I don't subscribe very often if I say so myself. Keep it cool, keep it easy.
    DAGNOL out. 🫡✌️#VeniceisntvenicewithoutRick
