The person you replied to is from edo and does not even have any connections to any of the clans under the Yoruba umbrella so how could they possibly know. Any one that speaks ife, anago or so called Yoruba are from the same tree of people
This group of people are very reserved and feel dominated & diminished by many ethnic groups in all the three countries. This group of people have many division among themselves as a matter fact, a result depending on which group you come across, they feel associated to the Yoruba group of people and vice versa. This is one of the reasons of creating awareness on this particular group. Am from Ghana but have relatives in all the three countries. I hope this will answer your question.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question although I did not quickly see your reply because you did not reply under the original thread where I made the first remark. It is great to know that some of them recognize their Yoruba roots. For the section of Ifes who do not, I guess more enlightenment and educational programmes are required to bring them to terms with their actual origins. I knew you were from Ghana from two things, the first is that you used English terms for the words from borrowed language as opposed to French like someone from Togo or Benin would do, then the accent you used in pronouncing those english terms gave you away as a Ghanaian. Can I ask you more questions if you do not mind?
@IleIfeShow. So, if you're from Ghana, what tribe do you identify as, and where do your people live ie which towns and regions? And when did they migrate to Ghana?
@@tvs9978 I can speak both languages but they are totally different. Ifê is similar to yoruba a language speak in South Nigeria. Ewe is spoken in South togo and Ghana. You can find it also in benin
@@odjogermaingouttia2430 thanks for responding. What I meant is do you see certain words in one language used in the other? There are Ewe words in Ga for example and because of proximity I'm sure there have been cultural exchanges.

Is it thriving, or is it being dominated and diminished by the more populous and politically advantaged Ewe language? Are you from Ghana or Togo?
They are the same people from Ife - Yoruba/Anago. It was the civil war of the 16-1800s and then reunification into all combine Old Oyo Empire till the slavery era...pre-post colonial divisions happened.
I observed their language has been influenced by other ethnic groups in Togo. Nevertheless, I can still understand 60% of what the narrator was saying.
