Honestly, your content has help me so much! I can tell we have very similar taste in teaching style and what we like to see in a curriculum. We have been struggling with a hard decision between abeka and TGATB for our LA and Math for next year (kinder and 2nd grade) I’ve used kinder abeka but also kinder and 1st TGATB. Watching all your comparison videos on the two companies has definitely helped me realize that either way, I won’t make a wrong decision. It’s relived some stress. Thank you so much for continuing to post content like this and helping out some moms out here like me, who might feel insecure about our homeschooling abilities 😅 ❤️
I love hearing your picks! I feel like I 'know' your homeschool fairly well, because I could have guessed you'd pick most of these! We've used a lot of Abeka LA and TGATB as well.
Thank you so much for sharing. Your video was very helpful. I just ordered Abeka history. I may order their science also. And I am definitely going to check out Duo Lingo Spanish.
Even though we’re not big fans of the good and beautiful, it works really really well. And a lot of new homeschoolers that use it find it so easy and user-friendly. Thanks for a great review on everything!
We love TGTB preschool and their language arts up to high school and their math!!! I supplement with math mammoth topic workbooks where my kids are struggling!!! We love masterbooks science and TGTB science for older kids!!!
Aww these are some awesome picks!!! I love Masterbooks science and we are so excited to start Beautiful Feet Early American History this year. I definitely want to do Beautiful feet around the world with my younger ones in the coming years. 🥰
The Science from masterbooks sounds awesome! I think we will definitely take advantage of it in the future... I am just waiting for my younger ones to get a bit older. Totally agree with you regarding science units from the good and the beautiful
I love and agree with your suggestions! The Abeka for LA 1st grade has taught my girls soooo well, they are ahead and excelling and love reading. We also did Abeka Social Studies for 1st grade which is very basic but perfect for their age, we just add beautiful library books on topics covered to further their study. Im looking into Notgrass for upper grades. We did the Masterbooks Science for beginners and really loved it, wasn't boring at all but not over their heads, their ideas for activities and experiments were just right. I haven't used any TGATB, but your good review is so wonderful I might have to check it out. I do know that by 3rd grade we'll be using Teaching Textbooks for Math because my experience with Math beyond 3rd grade is frankly traumatizing lol It's a miracle I even passed math in college! I hope you get your voice back and healed, have a lovely day ❤️
I am going to check out duolingo. We have slacked on our Spanish flashcards, due to time and some slight bickering over who says the correct answer first 🤦♀️
We used More Than Words level one and loved it. Then we moved onto Growing with God and it is more Bible stories based because I knew my kids were not ready for the More Than Words level 2. We are really loving it right now so it might be something to look into because the growing with God goat by levels
How would you balance full-time work and homeschooling? I usually do 1-2 subjects at home (TGATB is AWESOME) then send 1 writing or reading assignment to his nanny (my mom) during my work days. With a toddler now I wanna get lessons for him as well, but I don't wanna stretch myself too thin
This is hard to answer in one comment…it’s definitely a challenge, I’m not gonna lie, but it’s totally doable! Many, many moms work and homeschool. I don’t work full time but I work part time and it’s not always easy. Streamline where you can. Choose subjects that are simple and straightforward and don’t require a lot of teacher intensive prep. If you’re kids are old enough, give them independent work (the toffee obviously can’t do independent work). If your little one is asking for work to be like their sibling, then go for it, otherwise I wouldn’t push formal school until your toddler is a little older. I have a few videos on working and homeschooling that might give a better idea. Also, check out Gina B…she works full time and shares what she does to balance work and homeschool
Tgtb is wonderful. I'm still on the old versions. Math, Ela, History, typing and some science units. I use master books more than words and All about us. I bought the huge genesis science ( series from the ark creators) and a mix of other chapter books for all kinds of read alouds. I do 2 on a regular basis. I do use abeka read alouds chapters books. Handwriting is No more tears... I have Tuttle twins too. ❤ Sounds like we are on same page. I'm on the 4th year as well and used to teach public school.
Can you share which social studies curriculum or resources you went with? I've been looking for something for social studies. I don't want to do history with my 2nd/3rd grader yet. We've been doing Masterbooks My Story but it feels so disjointed.
We weren’t fans of My Story either. We’re doing beautiful feet books - around the world with picture books. It’s for lower elementary and we’re loving it!!
Oh my goodness, the Good and the Beautiful looks amazing! I’d never used it but totally would have. My kiddos are all done now and in college. We used Abeka in the early years and a variety later on. Great experience! I’m so grateful I was able to homeschool. As a single mom, not by choice, I wasn’t sure, but God made a way!🙌👆
I am thinking of supplementing with abeka math for next year. He will be in 4th grade and will be using the good and the beautiful for his main math course. Would you recommend I purchase grade 3 abeka as a supplement or grade 4?

Haha yes I think anyone who’s watched my videos could probably guess…I’m very basic and predictable 😂
Really great hearing a recap of your favorites. Definitely love Abeka Language Arts and Masterbooks science.

Love the preschool curriculum too Lauren! My son has been loving the new edition! ❤️
Going through the samples of the new one, I really wanted to buy it. I have no one to use it on, but I still really wanted it 😂
Around the world with picture books sounds amazing! Such great books in that pack!
We’re loving it!

Definitely have FOMO with master books younger science lol. For math…if you found what works, Breathe a sigh of relief and stick with it ☺️😃
I didn’t realize TGTB was independent 4th and up!
Yes 🙌
I am going to check out duolingo. We have slacked on our Spanish flashcards, due to time and some slight bickering over who says the correct answer first 🤦♀️
Ahh totally get that!! Haha

Duo lingo is a fantastic program. I urge a word of caution as they do teach”inclusive” language. Just to be aware in teaching.
I need a typing program and I like free! I need to look into that site!
Thanks so much for joining me!
It’s simple but it does the job ☺️
I love TGTB preschool program and their language too! ❤️
Yes, so cute and perfect for preschool

I think it's true that it can be frustrating to jump into science units too early, when kids are too young.
They can learn a little bit but some of the concepts are a little too abstract when they’re so you g

I would definitely get 3rd grade. Abeka math is ahead of TGTB
Masterbooks science is really good!
I’m debating about getting it for my youngest…but not sure I wanna do two sciences
