Sometimes a personality is also known for the quality of people who follow them. Ravish was well admired by all kinds of people earlier. The moment a certain section tried to pitch him as a symbol of opposition and secularism, thats the moment the others drifted away.

He is also catering to his market now which isn't very different than what mainstream media is doing. Much of world media today is the same anyway. Its either left leaning or right leaning. @@alienfromsaturn8909 I have liked your comments because I feel they are not said often and believe that this unbiased critical thinking mindset deciding pros and cons of both sides with proper value or priority system (that is subjective) should be inculcated in more and more people. But I disagree with you for the same reason as I have stated above. Ravish Kumar's opinions are more valuable because they are not said enough. It is not just left and right anymore (btw left and right are wrong terms to use here and I think people misuse the terms quite a lot, but that's besides the point). It is strong institution controlling power which induces non critical, extreme religious thinking with divisions in society and mob rule, version a journalist trying to expose and report on it when almost no mainstream institution does it. And, another point is Ravish categorically said that he highlights the cons more rather than pros way more disproportionately because pros of the government can be or indeed broadcasted by government offical reports (and tbh, the politician's speeches and in today's India many other places), but cons are not officially said and because the party is in power and not in opposition, Ravish Kumar takes the responsibility to highlight the cons and he said that it would be true for whichever party would be in power. Do I want him to highlight the pros using his critical analysis ? Yes. But it's understandeable (especially more now than before) that he chooses to avoid it and highlight the cons more. Do I believe that Ravish Kumar has become extra biased against the current party comparatively to a different party even if that hypotheticaly would be in power ? Again, yes, but it is understandeable since it clearly violates his value or priority system. BTW, Ravish has never been that kind of a good investigative journalist AFAIK, but since his seemingly integrity filled journalism, he is rightfully cherished in some circles because he is saying things in mainstream which is not being said at least, not in the way he presents them. Even if that circle includes biased non critical troll like characters you mentioned who opposes the current party just for the sake of it and maybe even for wrong reasons (let's say religious, for example), the rest of the circle and Ravish should continue even though that path involves not highlighting the pros of the current party at all (which would have been a good addition in my personal views as I have said before).

Never has been a contrast between a journalist and a leader so stark in the history of democratic India, that on one end there's a Magsaysay award-winning veteran journalist of the Hindi Heartland and on the other, an uneducated, morally corrupt, alleged-murderer, dacoit PM that stands on the appeal of the same "chawanni" hindi heartland. Sometimes a personality is also known for the quality of people who follow them. Ravish was well admired by all kinds of people earlier. The moment a certain section tried to pitch him as a symbol of opposition and secularism, thats the moment the others drifted away.
@@DriveDawn I am also one of those subscribers. But I take his words and journalism with a pinch of salt. He is also catering to his market now which isn't very different than what mainstream media is doing. Much of world media today is the same anyway. Its either left leaning or right leaning. Ravish unfortunately today isn't the centrist he once used to be. Majority of his followers today are basically only those who hate bjp or modi or hindutva from top to bottom. They aren't following ravish because of his journalism.

@@DriveDawn I understand what u r saying. But my main point was that the other side gets abused for literally praising a democratically elected PM. Its just weird. We all know atleast 1 person in our family, friends, classmates, neighbour who voted for this party. They are not horrible people asking for fascism. They are part of the silent majority who never even make noise on social media.
Anyway, the name calling will probably exist forever on both sides. My whole point here is that the ones we call godi media are basically trolled because they have picked a side and dont appear neutral. The ones who watch them are often even trolled for being dumb to consume that content.
Now the ones who hate bjp will naturally gravitate towards a space where they need content creators who bash bjp. And ravish is basically the face of that space today. Now, given his category of audience, he himself isn't in a position to even find and say a couple of good things about budget or a policy or an incident as an honest journalist. Bcoz he would run the risk of losing his market. His audience dont expect neutrality or true journalism. His audience expect bashing and criticism. Thats the main issue. He is becoming what he is criticising.
@@alienfromsaturn8909 I have liked your comments because I feel they are not said often and believe that this unbiased critical thinking mindset deciding pros and cons of both sides with proper value or priority system (that is subjective) should be inculcated in more and more people. But I disagree with you for the same reason as I have stated above. Ravish Kumar's opinions are more valuable because they are not said enough.
It is not just left and right anymore (btw left and right are wrong terms to use here and I think people misuse the terms quite a lot, but that's besides the point). It is strong institution controlling power which induces non critical, extreme religious thinking with divisions in society and mob rule, version a journalist trying to expose and report on it when almost no mainstream institution does it. And, another point is Ravish categorically said that he highlights the cons more rather than pros way more disproportionately because pros of the government can be or indeed broadcasted by government offical reports (and tbh, the politician's speeches and in today's India many other places), but cons are not officially said and because the party is in power and not in opposition, Ravish Kumar takes the responsibility to highlight the cons and he said that it would be true for whichever party would be in power.
Do I want him to highlight the pros using his critical analysis ? Yes. But it's understandeable (especially more now than before) that he chooses to avoid it and highlight the cons more.
Do I believe that Ravish Kumar has become extra biased against the current party comparatively to a different party even if that hypotheticaly would be in power ? Again, yes, but it is understandeable since it clearly violates his value or priority system.
BTW, Ravish has never been that kind of a good investigative journalist AFAIK, but since his seemingly integrity filled journalism, he is rightfully cherished in some circles because he is saying things in mainstream which is not being said at least, not in the way he presents them. Even if that circle includes biased non critical troll like characters you mentioned who opposes the current party just for the sake of it and maybe even for wrong reasons (let's say religious, for example), the rest of the circle and Ravish should continue even though that path involves not highlighting the pros of the current party at all (which would have been a good addition in my personal views as I have said before).
