There is no such thing as Efes fans. There are Galatasaray and Beşiktaş fans who support Efes. Since their own team is in the lower ranks in basketball and their arch-rival Fenerbahçe always plays for the championship, they support whoever can stand against Fenerbahçe.That team is Efes in men basketball.. for example, Eczacıbaşı or Vakıfbank in women's volleyball, Halkbank or Ziraat in men's volleyball. They have been supporting CBK Mersin in women's basketball for the last few years. They are like chameleons. They take on the colors of the team Fenerbahçe is competing against with, so the people you see in Efes stands love basketball not Efes !
They spend their lives dreaming that their own teams, namely Galatasaray and Beşiktaş, will one day form a strong team in basketball and in this traumatic state of mind, they support Efes.
Lol, now that's a question. Efes Pilsen used to have pretty minimal fan base; it actually just consists people who worked/works for the corporation. None can deny that Efes is the pioneer of competitive basketball in Turkey, but again, they barely sold half of the seats. Then came Ergin Ataman, he is a Galatasaray hooligan and since Galatasaray is just an ordinary, middle-tier basketball organization, Gala fans pretended to support Efes. And in Turkey, it's really like if you are not a Fener fan, you are a fan for everyone who competes against Fener. That's the entire story of your rivalry.

Efes is a beer brand in Türkiye. Naturally, Efes is a company club. This means that it doesn't have a deep-rooted fan base. Since it was the most successful Turkish team in the 90s, it gained the sympathy of many sports fans who supported different teams. Nowadays, many people who claim to be Efes fans are actually a mix of fans of Fenerbahçe's other rivals.

Fenerbahçe made its biggest move in basketball in 2006 by merging with Ülkerspor (which was the biggest basketball team at that years) . Ülker is one of biggest company in Turkiye, and its owner is a great Fenerbahçe fan. This agreement increased the team's financial power and led to the construction of a magnificent basketball arena. During Aziz Yıldırım's period, Fenerbahçe experienced its golden years with coach Obradovic. However, President Ali Koç has focused more on achieving success in football, pushing basketball to the background. If he had prioritized basketball more, no one could have brought Fenerbahçe down from the top today.
weeeell, that is not so true! European basketball is very dynamic and the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Olympiakos, Panathinaikos will not just sit there and watch Fenerbahçe dominate the league. But it is true that President Ali Koc spent less money on basketball and more focused on football recently. And this is not his fault but the pressure by us the fans for a trophy in football, which we have not got in the last 10 years, except the Turkey cup last year.

Efes is a beer brand, not a sports club. Its contribution to the development of Turkish basketball is undeniable, and it remains the most successful Turkish basketball team. However, it's hard to say they have a strong fan culture.
They can barely sell tickets for derbies because they know Fenerbahçe fans will fill the arena. They distribute tickets by invitation and rely on the supporters of Fenerbahçe's football rivals to boost attendance.
I skipped the parts about Efes in the video. For 35 million Fenerbahçe fans, Fenerbahçe alone is enough.

Efes has no fan base. It is a company club. Actually its old name was "Efes Pilsen", which is a popular beer brand in Turkey. After political islamists took over Turkish government, they were forced to change the name to "Anadolu Efes". Because Pilsen means Pilsner, which is a kind of alcoholic drink.

This brief documentary is utter no-sense.Efes was originally established as a beer company and competed as a basketball club under the name of efes pilsen, the name of the beer itself. Therefore, if you ask people outside about what’s coming their mind when saying efes they would probably associate it initially with the company rather than the club itself. Since the government didn’t want to have a team named a company club competing in professional sport the name of it was changed to anadolu efes. Besides that there is no clear distinction between on being efes and fener fan. Becoming either fener or efes fan can not be tied to which part of the Istanbul you’re living. If you support fenerbahce you will likely watch every branch of support you come across. This is the opposite for efes side.

Also, in the matches Fenerbahçe hosts, the entire stadium is Fenerbahçe fans only, but in the matches Efes hosts, almost half of the stadium is filled by Fenerbahçe and other team fans.
So yes, there is a great rivalry between the two teams on the field, but there is no rivalry outside the field or in the stands. And we Fenerbahçe fans are unique in basketball, as in every branch in Turkey.

Efes has almost no fans, they played last year's final series in front of empty seats. They did not want to sell the tickets being afraid that Fener fans would buy them. Efes used to be a respectable basketball organization but when they signed the most unsportsmanlike coach of Europe the club became something else. I am talking about the person who became a persona non grata in Serbia a decade ago. Congrats to Efes for winning the European title with aforementioned coach but was it really worth it? Efes became a club where unfair or illegal didn't matter as long as they win something. I miss old Efes where Fener fans had also sympathy.
Our stadium, which had a capacity of 17,000 in the seasons we won 2 consecutive times, is "sold out", don't talk nonsense without knowing it.When we see someone who doesn't like our coaches we say "it must have hurt her".I am also waiting for an example of unlawfulness.
