@NyanJuice Lio is definitely talking about his fellow Burnish. The Burnish are being used by Kray in a secret evil plan to power the warp device.

@@Gloomdrake the song is in general about the plot. There are certain lines when he talks about galo's love supposedly, but that is not the theme of the whole song.
It talks about many things, mainly the cause of the social conflict, the promare. It talks also about kray and how he sacrifices fellow burnish for power. It mentions also how galo and him are both sides of the same thing, his love and this idea of normalcy with Galo, as Lio usually can't just spend time with someone due to his situation. But it is also about the hatred lio feels for those like Kray. In general the song is about the main elements of the plot: The conflict between burnish and society, Kray's hypocrisy and abuse of power, and Lio and Galo's relationship. It acts more as a summary.
Is so unfair that the rest of the soundtrack is impossible to find in TH-cam. Promare OSTs is one of my favorites and most addictive.

I think this part is from Galo's POV even though NEXUS is Lio's song. Since Galo can see Lio is crying during his rampage on Promepolis and knowing Kray has caused them both pain. Also the last line points out Galo and Lio are connected hence the title of the song, NEXUS.

I like to think that this song is not only from Lio's perspective, but also a perspective that's been influenced by meeting Galo, with Galo eventually meeting him in the middle within the song.
Each was apprehensive of the other, but them meeting was the start of something bigger and, eventually, they both realize this. So, as the story progresses and their internal struggles come to a head, they meet at the center and then go full throttle.
Together they just flipped that coin and went YEEEEET
Pardon me being super late to this fandom, but to add on to other comments, I think Inferno is Galo's theme, Kakusei is Lio's, and this would be a song that's both of their's. The lyrics seem to come from both sides.

Yesss. I like to think Ashes is Lio’s, Inferno is Galo’s, Kakusei is a war song from Lio’s POV, Nexus is the shared song about the ituation, and Gallant Ones is a Victory song from Galo’s POV. I just like to think about this kind of stuff

This song embodies Galo's confidence and Lio's frustration. I think Galo knows Kray's not too good of a guy, but he just doesn't wanna believe it. This song represents Lio and Galo somehow trying to persuade each other. Galo's trying to persuade Lio to regain his freedom, and Lio's trying to persuade Galo that not everyone is as they seem.
Also, gotta love Varys and Gueira duking it out in the background. Classic

Well, native Japanese speakers would probably find it hard to understand you singing in Japanese (especially when you have to sing faster) not because Japanese is as phonetically challenging as English but because the pitch accent and a few other things that would mess up your rhythm and make them go "???" while listening to you. :P
But even if that doesn't hold true, what does hold true is that English is phonetically challenging coming from a language like Japanese that so strictly adheres to the CVCVCV (consonant-vowel) pattern whereas English tends to have a bunch of consonants clustered together, making singing a less smoother experience overall than it is in Japanese or Italian for example.
At any rate, I understood a lot of what she was singing even without the lyrics so... you probably just don't have a good ear for language or just weren't paying attention.

What an awesome, fun movie. Visually a complete treat. The story is pretty basic, but it doesn't matter - it's still highly entertaining. And the soundtrack is absolutely fantastic, I just ordered the vinyl.

Lio is singing about Kray here, even if it isn't sung directly to Kray. The city (Promepolis) hides very dark, "dirty secrets", and both the city's literal power and Kray's metaphorical power come from sacrificing the Burnish, Lio's methaphorical kin. The cousin here isn't literal.
@@HoduAphrodite I personally think it's about the girl Lio couldn't save. There are 2 shorts on the blu-ray that involve a girl that finds out she's a burnish. She's the one that burnt Galo's arm (which is why it's in a compress sleeve during the movie), and was directly welcomed into the Burnish family by Lio, Guera and Meis. It's been confirmed that the girl in the bandages in the prison facility, that later turned to ashes in the cave, was that girl they took in. It might sound like a stretch, but that's my theory on what the cousin line could be referring to lol

"cousin" in this context probably means comrade or friend. It's probably referring to the other Burnish that are/were being sacrificed for Kray's machine/engine.
Dudo que signifique _primo_ en el sentido común de la palabra. Creo que se refiere más bien al sentido de _prójimo_ . Pero en inglés _prójimo_ sería "fellow man" y no suena tan bien decir "sacrificin' my fellow man" en lugar de "sacrificin' my cousin".
