Although we lost. Timo scoring, Mendy and Chilwell playing well is a great take away. This is also arguably the best Chelsea have played this season. Our defensive press was better than ever before. That being said, we didn't put the game away when we could've. On to the next.

Last week Werner said he isn't getting enough opportunities to score and yesterday i saw it, CHO and Mount are not giving him the ball at the scoring position, he really needs Ziyech and Pulisic along side him in the attack who will be in constant support with him in the attack. I just want to see Pulisic, Werner, Ziyech and Havertz in the starting line up.

Seriously, why does LAMPARD NEVER SUB OUT MOUNT? IT'S HIGH TIME! Lampard should've brought Havertz for Mount. Also he should stop getting by reliant on his son a lot!! I liked Mount the prev season, but this season, we need to play these signings more, so that they build chemistry, also these players are talented and world class. If Chelsea can't win matches from the next game, lampard will surely leave the club, as Abramovich won't be impressed.

Jorginho is quality when you pick the team around him but hes not the player we need.
Havertz wasn't fit in first 2 games but last game was outstanding with the hat trick, whether upfront, in the middle or the 3rd midfielder Havertz must start.
Chilwell was great and is easily our best leftback and must start, he needs someone like Telles to compete in his position, Emerson and Alonso just don't cut it.
Good to see Tomori and Zouma in cb, we need a defensive coach to sort out the defensive team in the squad.
Cant wait to see Ziyech & Pulisic starting.on the wings.

Lampard rotating too much without having the guys properly drilled in the basics. We kept going side to side and backwards with no penetrating movement. We still look shoddy when defending our box. With the firepower available our final third play is championship style, this is unacceptable.

The team is getting physically fit, you can witness it in their play. There is still a lack of concentration by some players due to fatigue in the latter part of the game. Fitness seem to be the biggest issue. The desire to win and give 100% on the field needs to be second nature, players need not be afraid to shoot at goal.

Lampard basically did better last season, where he literally called the academy players that never played for Chelsea senior team before. This season is basically the same thing. New signings are like academy players last season. They're new to Chelsea. However, the trend is significantly lower.

@eoe123321 You have to remember he doesn't have premier league experience and being that it was his first game you'd expect that. Keepers who are more experienced and played much more games in the premier league work out patterns of players and educate themselves to predict which way to dive and which way the player will kick it. Mendy has only been in London for 5 days and played brilliantly today made some really good saves, the way he attacks corners is great!

Palace could be a make or break game for us this season as we haven’t got off to the best of starts and after the game will be a much needed international break for our players to gain full fitness and come back from injury. For palace I think we need to pick a more experienced side and give players like mount james and Tomori a game out as they have had a large portion of available minutes.

And if it makes you feel better, even if Haverts takes a penalty, I'm not 100% sure they'll win. Pretty well said. Mount doesn't have the quality to start for Chelsea and hasn't shown glimpses of magic to suggest he has. He can press and fight which we like, but he actually great in anything else. Not one touch pass, not great accuracy or make ambitious openings, not dribbling abilities, not as fast as pulisic or willian. Just not Chelsea talent in my opinion.I'm not being sentimental when i say he should be 4th choice as number 10 behind Havert, Loftus Cheek and Barkely.
I'd seen Werner on the left for Germany and i was i awe about how poor he was. Maybe it was a couple of matches but it's not his position, he looked out of ideas, patience and technical quality for a top class winger (which Germany and Chelsea should have). We have much better players to play there.
One last thing. How can Lampard keep Christiansen and let Rudiger leave? You don't have to be a football coach to see that his postitioning and reading of the game has been as bad as possible for this level. I've seen him having good matches but his mistakes will keep on coming. Chelsea fans believe Conte benched him for a year because he was exhsausted. At times his decision making is awful imo and hw has missed 5-10 good chances from set pieces. He is yet to score a goal.
Rudiger also has his bad moments but doesn't give attackers room to breathe. He gives them a hard time no matter what. He also reads better dangerous situations and is stronger on the ground or in the air.

What I've seen is that, collectively we do a lot of side passing with very few through the middle. Our lobs and crosses to our forwards is pretty weak too. It's as if there's a loss of comfortability to pass the ball over defenders.
I believe we have pacy forwards to cope well with it but I think our tactics have changed to possession and playing from the back.
That's why we bought Ziyech :) Just wait til he gets fit. I hope it'll be this weekend. If we have Timo and Christian making amazing runs in the channel, Ziyech will definitely find them. Currently we don't have a real playmaker in the team, the task of creating chances has gone to the fullbacks. Jorginho didn't turn out to be the Pirlo-esque player we thought he'd be

there is one things that separates champions and chelsea. It is the hunger for goals, we all know our defense is shaky as hell, i am not confident even if we are leading 2-0. teams like bayern, liverpool, manC are always after scoring more goals and bayern is the best example. hope this mentality and a good playmaker emerges to dictate the midfield, mount is good but not best in the world. He missed the crucial pass to timo, against barnsley he missed 1v1 vs GK. lampard needs to trust barkley or havertz and try to give mount some rest. that boy is playing week in week out

Only difference is that Spurs reacted when the goal was conceded and played very aggressive, changing the game to their advantage. Eventhough we had more possession, I think Spurs were dominating after the 20th minute. Chelsea needs to be mentally stronger and play their best 1q
