I know. It was a disappointment, especially after thinking it would be like the zebra cake snacks from the store. All you do is freeze it, you don’t even bake it. I feel like the producers purposely chose to call it a cake, knowing that it wasn’t, to essentially clickbait viewers for higher ratings. It makes me question what other shenanigans Zoom has had involvement in over the years
As a mid 2000’s kid, my big bro from the 90’s era made me watch all of this as a child. Thank god he did because now re watching it is a crazy nostalgia hit! And I love that feeling ❤ back when life was atleast a bit more simple ❤
My mom made this for Christmas eve and my sister and I ended up eating most of it, it was so addicting. I mentioned it tonight and my mom said that's what she'd make us for our birthdays from now on. :)
I see some comments about people not liking how the Zebra Cake taste. I saw a video of a chef making this Zebra Cake. He put the whipped topping and Vanilla ice cream in a bowl, mixed it up and then he spread it on the cookie. He put in more ice cream than whipped cream. He also put in a spoon of vanilla extract but that's optional. I would suggest trying it that way if you are not a big fan of whipped cream
This show was my childhood I remember watching this after coming from school in grammar Lynesse was my favorite along with Keiko good times cafe Zoom is always my favorite too see them make food.
It's a good Cafe but it makes me too hungry. It worked good when I first saw it though since I knew I'd be eating zebra cake in a week or two (It aired on friday, November 12 and thursday, November 18 in 1999 and we always had it at Thanksgiving.)
This is truly the one scene I remember the most! The reason is because it’s the one thing I tried to make at home. Holy hell thanks for the memories. Mines was a lot neater then this one though lol I remember I used thicker cookies and didn’t smear the whip cream on the sides. Was so delicious!
Hows it feel to still be alive as a grown man brother and still remember these days and the feelings we use to get when we seen this pretty girl on the creen afterschool?

Unless you remember specifically seeing it in an episode (someone said there exists a zoops of it on certain prints of “The Making Of ZOOM”, not sure I believe it though).
Ben Sherlock They sell them at certain Walmarts but if you can't find them there, you can order them online. They are called Nabisco Famous Chocolate Wafers. Or you can use Oreos and take the frosting out.
Event 23: Slippy's Invention "Slippy: With my new device, you guys'll be invisible!" You may choose any character for this event. In this event, Fox and Falco are equipped with a permanent Cloaking Device. The player, Fox, and Falco have stock 2 each. The stage is Venom (a stage in Super Smash Bros MELEE from the Star Fox universe). The player must defeat a Level 7 Fox and a Level 7 Falco. In Super Smash Bros MELEE, Event 23: Slippy's Invention is the 23rd event out of 51. 21 events have an assigned character. And all characters from the "Original 12" in Super Smash Bros N64 (or "Smash 64") have an assigned event match. And they have at least one or two assigned events. However, the exception is Pikachu. And he's the only one character from the "Original 12" in Smash 64, who doesn't have an assigned event. The player is forced to use nearly every character from the "Original 12" at least once. The 16 events that had a character from the "Original 12" match Smash 64's playable character roster. The only four MELEE newcomers which have an assigned event match are Bowser, Falco, Young Link, Marth, and Mr. Game and Watch. Bowser is the assigned character in Event 25: Gargantuans, Falco is the one for Event 32: Target Acquired, Young Link is the one for Event 34: Seven Years, Marth is the one for Event 41: En Garde!, and Mr. Game and Watch is the one for Event 45: Game and Watch Forever!. The other 16 events (including Event 1: Trouble King, Event 2: Lord of the Jungle, Event 5: Spare Change, Event 13: Yoshi's Egg, Event 16: Kirby's Air Raid, Event 17: Bounty Hunters, Event 18: Link's Adventure, Event 19: Peach's Peril, Event 27: Cold Armor, Event 29: Triforce Gathering, Event 33: Lethal Marathon, Event 35: Time for a Checkup, Event 36: Space Travelers, Event 39: Jigglypuff Live!, Event 42: Trouble King 2, and Event 43: Birds of Prey) all have an assigned character from Smash 64. The 11 characters from Smash 64 to have an assigned event are Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Kirby, Samus, Link, Fox, C.Falcon, Jigglypuff, Luigi, and Ness. The differences between the event matches in Super Smash Bros MELEE and the event matches (both solo events and co-op events) in Super Smash Bros BRAWL is that for the events in MELEE, the player must KO a CPU opponent on an assigned AI level. For example, in Event 1: Trouble King (the 1st event in MELEE), the player was Mario and they had to defeat Bowser. And Bowser's AI was Level 2. In Super Smash Bros BRAWL, for the events (solo and co-op), there are 3 difficulties. The 3 difficulties are Easy, Normal, and Hard. For the solo events, the AI level varies depending with the difficulty. The exception is Event 1: Two Trouble Kings (the 1st solo event out of 41) and Event 41: The FINAL Final Battle (the 41st and final solo event). In Event 1: Two Trouble Kings, the player is Mario. The opponents (Bowser and King Dedede) on all difficulties (Easy, Normal, and Hard) are on Level 2. In Event 41: The FINAL Final Battle, the player can choose any character. The opponents are Giant Mario, Snake, and Sonic. The opponents (Giant Mario, Snake, and Sonic) are on Level 9 (on all difficulties; Easy, Normal, and Hard). The event matches have three difficulties; Easy, Normal, and Hard. That is in BRAWL. On Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary, Classic Mode, All Star Mode, and Boss Battles Mode use the traditional 5 (just as in the first 2 out of the first 3 installments in the Super Smash Bros series; Super Smash Bros and Super Smash Bros MELEE). However, instead of Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Very Hard, it is Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard, and Intense.
xwallyallyx I actually watched a video of a chef making this Zebra Cake and he put vanilla ice cream and the whipped topping in a bowl, mixed it up, then put it on the cookie. I used to watch this show when it was on PBS. This show was so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm in my 30s and I still remember this zebra cake and how much I wanted to try it. Its literally just oreos and frozen whip cream lol
I know. It was a disappointment, especially after thinking it would be like the zebra cake snacks from the store. All you do is freeze it, you don’t even bake it. @@macysondheim click bait in the 90’s? Didn’t know that was a thing back then.
It’s not Oreos though it’s wafer cookies and the cool whip will make a different texture once cooled I say try it
@@DylanRomanovI think they’re not allowed to say Oreos given how this is public television
20 years later and I still can’t find that exact cookie. This recipe never left my mind.
Oreos
loved Zoom! the cafe segments were always my favorite, idkw I used to love their little chef-boyardee recipes lol
I don't care for chef boyardee stuff but I love this.
As a mid 2000’s kid, my big bro from the 90’s era made me watch all of this as a child. Thank god he did because now re watching it is a crazy nostalgia hit! And I love that feeling ❤ back when life was atleast a bit more simple ❤
I remember this from my childhood
Watching this on the antenna tv. Man, nostalgia is bittersweet.
Yup! This show, Arthur, and The Magic School Bus we’re the best shows on PBS
Lynese is just soooo PRRRECIOUS...!!
I'm here from 2020 from Chrissy Teigans video.I remember this show!!! LOL and I'm 28 used to watch this show!
I vaguely remember this "zebra cake." 🦓🍰
My mom made this for Christmas eve and my sister and I ended up eating most of it, it was so addicting. I mentioned it tonight and my mom said that's what she'd make us for our birthdays from now on. :)
My birthday is tomorrow.
Awesome! :)
Saving your momma some money.. 😂😂
there are some good recipes on Zoom. I have to try these and I always loved Jared's smoothies. RIP.
This segment of zoom sticks out the most in my brain about my childhood!
My fave cafe segment ever ! So nostalgic and now I’m 33 🥴
Mine too. But I never once tried to make it😕
I see some comments about people not liking how the Zebra Cake taste. I saw a video of a chef making this Zebra Cake. Omg I love her!! And that zebra cake is just yummy in my tummy! 😍😍😍😍
Shreya Choudhury It's one of my favorites.
I remember not even caring that this wasn't actually cake...lol
This show was my childhood I remember watching this after coming from school in grammar Lynesse was my favorite along with Keiko good times cafe Zoom is always my favorite too see them make food.
Would anyone else get a craving for pizza during the cafe intro?
Butterfly Cake is my favorite but this is still a classic.
This is my all time favorite. I love whipped cream and zebras are one of my favorite animals.
I actually used to love them too. While I'm not into them anymore, I still think this cake is awesome.
It's a good Cafe but it makes me too hungry. It worked good when I first saw it though since I knew I'd be eating zebra cake in a week or two (It aired on friday, November 12 and thursday, November 18 in 1999 and we always had it at Thanksgiving.)
This is my all time favorite because it reminds me of my favorite cheesecake Oreo dream extreme which I just had.
Oh awesome! My all-time favorite is different now though.
This is truly the one scene I remember the most! The reason is because it’s the one thing I tried to make at home. Holy hell thanks for the memories. Mines was a lot neater then this one though lol I remember I used thicker cookies and didn’t smear the whip cream on the sides. Was so delicious!
Whip dip, chocolate wafers. Remember kids, brand names are not allowed
Cookie Monster: cookie!
Zoomers: it’s Cookie Monster!
3:04 "Which one do I want?" Well, if it was me I'd have all of them! Nah, jk, I'd save some for the other ZOOMers and avoid getting a stomachache.
I still love u Lynese😍😍😍
Hows it feel to still be alive as a grown man brother and still remember these days and the feelings we use to get when we seen this pretty girl on the creen afterschool?
@@ECZephon Lynese you mean.
This reminds me of Oreo
Anyone else here to take a walk down memory lane after Chrissy Teigen mentioned this cake? Haha
Nostalgia 😍
I can't be the only one at 30 years old remembering this girl made a zebra cake 😂
Cafe 🍽️Zoom was my favorite section of the show
Lynese was that girl!
This clip comes from ZOOMfan1's upload titled; ZOOM Season One Episode Seven
That music is my favorite and Lynese fa'SHO.
My favorite Cafe ZOOM.
So simple but looks so good!
BirdOfPrey12 I know, right? I absolutely loved this part of the show when I was a little girl.
I had the biggest crush on her 💯❤️ the memories
It was either zoe or keiko who made lemon slush.if keiko and zoe could have made lemon slush in cafe zoom together then they would do a great job.
Keiko made lemon slush, but it was unaired from what I can tell
I thought for sure it was zoe who made lemon slush.
before there were those buzzfeed recipe videos, there was this
I spent the past 20+ years thinking her name was Denise. Whoops.
Man these recipes are so simple. I didn’t ever think that as a kid. They also seem super nasty to me now.
I remember making this as a child it was really good lol
3:04 first ghetto moment
God I remember this episode like it was yesterday. I begged my mom to get me the ingredients lol

@iams2004 How do you know? If you’re referencing the wiki, it’s not reliable.
Zoe should have made this.
I don’t remember this. Why was this suggested? Maybe because I was watching My Brother and Me.
A classic cafe Zoom in between a fantastic zinger.
More like a classic, fantastic perfect Cafe ZOOM between a classic, fantastic, perfect zinger. Seriously, 137 was the best!
Isn't this fantastic too?
My top 3 favorites cakes are 325, 222, and this one.
Watching this zebra cake in 2024
She could've used vanilla ice cream rather than whipped cream.
See kids! Back in the late 90s/early 2000s, this was our TH-cam Turtorial😁
The lazy way to do this is just stack pre-made oreos on top of each other and splatter cool whip on it
Hahahaahahhah...riiiiiiight!!!
1:45 Get it girl!
Lynese was too awesome.
This don't even look like Zebra cake, this looks a little more like Baked Alaska.
More like an icebox cake!
Zebra.
I wonder if Lynese had this cafe? It looks pretty good. pbskids.org/zoom/activities/cafe/tortillasandwich.html
When I was in elementary school like when I get home 🏡 I turned on the TV and watch zoom
Me too. Before I got cable.
Omg.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSS!
I really want to try this recipe but I don't know what to use in place of chocolate wafers since they don't really sell them anymore.
They have them at corner stores.
Ben Sherlock They sell them at certain Walmarts but if you can't find them there, you can order them online. They are called Nabisco Famous Chocolate Wafers. Or you can use Oreos and take the frosting out.
Hey look, a giant Oreo!
Yep 😃
I love Lynese but sometimes she looked like she was over the whole thing.
What do you mean?
She looked like she enjoyed herself.
She was the best.
That looks so good but fattening.
Lynese looks great too.
I'm seeing a mentor right now who looks and acts just like her.
+Adam Sukenick That's awesome!
I think frosting is more fattening than whipped cream.
10 have no character.
2020 ppl
She got an IG? 👀😂
lets uh relax ok
