one of the best chess instruction channels on youtube... up there with naroditsky. I usually can only follow about half way when you start calculating though. Listening to your thoughts on whether or not to trade minor pieces was instructive.
This was neat, kind of explaining the battlefield as you go. I find that to be more important for me to know, you know, what are we fighting about, rather than endless variations. You should make that a series: the battlefield of the openings, or something.
at 2000-2100 I thought i would already be doing most of these things but the difference between us is made very clear, thank you! I just gotta calculcate more, put more thought into every move, and play for control of the board more instead of just going for quick tactics, and I'll get there! The combination starting with Nf6 was very interesting, even though it failed to mouseslip, and it's also very comforting that you still almost hang a full knight on f3 ;)
Just by chance before watching this video I was studying a line that's similar. The Anti-Moscow gambit. It was interesting to open this and see such a similar position, and a similar gambit idea! This might be a strange move order, but the position is transposed to in many ways. 1.d4 e6 2.c4 Nf6 3.Nf3 d5 4. Nc3 c6 5.bg5 h6 6. Bh4 (this becomes the Anti-Moscow Gambit, as White gives up the tempo, allowing Black the chance to take on c4, anticipating e3 and b5. (Kind of has Noteboom vibes)
Great video. I like seeing you play against a stronger opponent (about my strength) because to me Nb6 looked okay and you rightly scolded it. Also I liked it live, we catch the "oh shit my f3 knight is hanging" moments. But I wonder if perhaps rapid time control would be more suited, so you have more time to point out thought processes? I by no means mean this badly, I love your videos, this included, just wonder if opp. rating/100 = time control (min) would be easier for all parties involved? Oh, nice illustration of center control.
@@theeboseissher I hear "va parir, what do you do... by the way!" I hope coach Andras reads this and clarifys it... 'va parir' is a common slang expression in catalan language, in that context fits quite well, it's used when you are surprised or astonished by something. "'Chicos' and the 'chicas'" is spanish, maybe he speaks catalan as well!!! XDDD
Here are 3 facts for everyone: -The Bishop moves diagonally -Mass is equal to energy -Chess Coach Andras is the absolute best Chess teacher on TH-cam Subscribe and Share!
Another great one! 💪
Thanks again! 🙏

16:53 doesn't Qd5 just blunder the queen to Nxf6+?
Nxf6+, Kh8, Nxd5, f6 (exd5 is not possible due to Qxg7#).
Unfortunately, Qd5 is a check, so Andras is forced to exchange queens before getting the chance to pounce with Nxf6+
@@bensnyder9262Oh yeah. The exchange happened so fast I missed that haha.

Guy played beautiful chess with fianchetto knight onf7
Today an online opponent of mine blundered mate in 1, and I mouseslipped and missed it. Then I proceeded to play a "brilliant" move and won anyway 😂

How to beat passive setups? Take dah centtaaahhhh
Exactly!
I'm going to guess that Andras is working on a Catalan course for Chessable.
