I’m so proud of you hun!! You keep going!! I’m in recovery from SH, I reached a week clean yesterday, I believe you can do it!! Much love I hope your keeping well!! 🥰❤🎉
Lost my best friend to drug addiction back in 2014. To till date this song brings tears to my eyes. All i do now is try hard to be good so i can meet my friend in heaven.
You dont have to try hard to be good to make in the heaven. You only make to the heaven, if you spread the gospel and believe our saviour Jesus christ. Sorry for bad English.
When I was in active addiction my mother sent me this song. I remember crying as I listened to this song. Still gets me every time I listen to it. I was in a very dark and cold place. Many of the friends I had at the time have since passed away from addiction. As of writing this comment I am 1 year, 9 months and 21 days clean. God is good. He loves you. The best is yet to come.
Says everything that a true friend would be. You can hear the honesty in his voice. We should all remember that we are flawed, and leave our own light on for anyone we love going through a crappie time. I'd love to have a friend who views the world the way he does AMAZING and HOPEFUL xxx
I remember a very dark period in my life where I was lost, damaged , with no hope and nothing to live for,all of that changed when i finally got some rehab and got help. If I could change, everybody can. Never be affraid of seeking help and never give up.
God bless you. Congratulations on finding your saving grace and getting help. The world is a better place with you in it, you matter. Stay safe and pass on the good vibes to help others who might be struggling.
I feel soo emotional everytime I hear and sing it, I feel soo connected since I've had a bestfriend pass not from drugs but I've been trying to warn him and even though he made some questionable decisions I felt every move he made, I miss him soo much but in heaven or whereever he is, I'll always have a memory of him, a guide for him, a place for him.
I lost my best freind in the navy we was in the Atlantic ocean and the ship we was on got hit by a torpedo and he lost his life after that I was never the same and he always has had a place in my heart

Anyone else wish they had that person that had their back like this? Mr Walker is such a fantastic lyricist and musician (those beats are amazing). This song is so relatable and really gets you in the feels-and it’s because the music follows the lyrics and cuts deeps. Just that extra boost. ❤❤❤
My best friend of 8 years sang parts of this song to me once, and i did the same for him. We go back and forth leaving the light on for each other and i couldn't be more grateful for anybody.
Tom Walker sang this song with so much power and conviction. This should be the official song for our addicted and suicide community. These words are so powerful that can change so many of at brings hope for all of us. Please keep hope alive for those that have lost their way. Be their guiding light when all they see is darkness. My mother struggled from a drug addiction and a lot of mental illnesses. She's tried to khs a lot when I was a child, I can count about 5 times that she failed her attempts. But this song is for her
I just had my mom pass away two days ago and this song is really hard for me to listen to because she had struggled with addiction her whole life and when I finally thought she was getting better she had overdosed but she said she would always tell me if somthing was wrong that I was her rainbow and I was her reason to keep pushing but now she is gone and this song is all I got left of her.
Discovered this song a good while ago, and it was so moving. Glad to see it getting attention here! And that reminds me, actually-I've been looking for songs that fit for Batfam characters (Jason Todd-Wayne being one of the main ones), and this is definitely a very fitting one. *"Hiding from the truth ain't gonna make this all okay."*-This warrants being said, said, and said again!! And this is just such a powerful song for when you've been in dark places and felt alone. What it speaks to-I truly don't how the heck I would've made it through the past few years without the aid of a few dear friends God blessed me with. They were often the main thing enabling me to cope and to feel like the painful experiences were worthwhile.

He always left the light on, so do I, he passed away on the 19th of July, slept on my couch, and died peacefully, I still imagine him sitting on that couch, on the kitchen counter eating and everywhere in my house. You really got to listen to the words to find out what he's talking about because it's so deep to those of you who don't understand. the lyrics are telling you that he had a friend that got on drugs and he/she is not the same and he wants he/her two stop the drugs and be his/her normal self
I went to her funeral. Back in December. Cried as I talked about her. Our school is holding a memorial for her tomorrow.
