After backpacking round New Zealand 35 years ago I ended up moving here with my wife 20 years ago, I just fell in love with it. I now have three little Kiwi's of my own (although the oldest at 16 isn't so little). Watching your vlog brought back so many fond memories, thanks for doing this!
Kia ora and welcome to NZ. I really enjoyed your video and wish you all the very best for your Kiwi adventure! I first visited NZ from the UK 30 years ago, returned to study at Uni here a year later and I still am here, in the deep South. I hope you have a fantastic time here!
Welcome guys,I came from the UK almost 20 years ago, plenty of ups and downs but wouldnt change it for anything,I still feel like im on holiday after all these years, now Ive got a young family we are slowly re exploring NZ all over again, vids like these inspire us.
Welcome to NZ! Greetings from Wellington. So cool to see your experience of moving here. I came over from Devon in 2018 for 6-12 months, it's been 6 years now and I couldn't be happier to call this place home. I hope you have a safe journey around this incredible country.
Well done guys, sending you all good luck and prosperity on your journey. can't wait to see your evolution and growth in the near future. Blessings from Jamaica.
Welcome to New Zealand. I hope you have found out what the L and S are in the transmission. The L is for Low gear, and the S is for Second gear. They allow you to manually select a lower gear than drive, so you heave some engine braking on steep downhills, or you can do the same when caught in traffic to select a lower gear so the transmission is not constantly trying to change up and down
Waitomo caves, Rotorua hot pools, geysers, marae/village experience of food and culture. South island for scenic views alrhough north island has stunning views too
Welcome to New Zealand 🇳🇿 love your videos. I hope i will see you in Auckland and all the best ❤❤❤ Ahhhh can't wait to see more love you guys and i know all the places you should go to Orewa I love it and Waitomo caves and you got to try the Rainbow's End❤
Enjoyed watching your enthusiastic vid of coming to NZ. We also love NZ but are going the other way to UK for 5 months. It will be interesting watching your experiences along the way as we try to negotiate through a new country in a hired camper. Russell and Amanda
Kia ora and welcome guys! You're going to have a blast. Happy to see you're starting with the North Island because you'll want pleeenty of time for our beautiful South Island and I definitely vote making it your home base :) You might want to stay in the upper half over the winter months but that said you're both Brits so will probably think our winters are a bit weak haha. Hope you have the best time and I'm so excited to follow along on your journey!!
Kia ora :) Thank you 😊 We feel so torn as we are loving the North Island so much but everyone does keep telling us about the wonders of the South Island! Which we have always planned to get to early on in our time here but kept delaying the more we explored the North! Will have to take your advice though and make our way there soon 😊 Thank you for following along on the journey - we really do appreciate it so much!
Thank you! 😊 It's such an amazing place that we're not surprised at the amount of stories we've heard similar to yours where people came out for a year and ended up staying! :)
Charming. You’re having such fun. I hope you are airing your foam mattresses every day - condensation will accumulate underneath. It’s weird to me - a Kiwi who has lived in & visited the UK for many years - that auto transmission vehicles are rare & treated with the utmost suspicion by Brits. I’m sure you’ve mastered the auto system & are now happily cruising our highways & byways.
We'll definitely make sure to air it, thank you :) Haha, I think the suspicion is purely from me (Julia) having only ever driven a manual 😄 but yes you're absolutely right, I've got used to it very quickly! :)
On your travels up north you will drive through Orewa then there is a toll road or you can go the old route past Waiwera where I spent many yrs on holiday. Then you will come out by the toll road up by Puhoi.
But you have to stay on the old route , there is no northbound on-ramp at Puhoi 😀. Not all bad there is Parry Kauri park just before Warkworth (on the right as you go north)
@@d.a2500 yes, but there is a relatively new section of SH1 that extends north to just past Warkworth. For reasons only known to NZTA at Puhoi you can get off the motorway northbound and on southbound. Meaning if you are coming from the north you can’t get off at Puhoi, annoying. 😀
@ Thanks time to come home and do some travelling.Spent many years at Waiwera parents had a bach there, and the old man was fishing around that island every opportunity he could.I was taught to eat oysters off the rocks out there on that island.
Airbed would be handier guys, cigarette lighter jack, 12volt pumps $16/20 .. Inbuilt airbed pumps are also available, for cigarette lighter jack. All the best for a wonderful time, in N Z.
Stumbled across this video , Loved it. To have the balls to pick up and go to the other side of the world blows my mind, fair play. "THE BUG" looks amazing , also a little bougie now with those curtains, also are we going to get a head bump counter , as I feel that is going to be high ( i mean, a wooden board to the head "CLONK" nearly pissed myself ). But you guys are bloody amazing and inspiring, I had to subscribe straight away and look forward to enjoying your journey on the other side of the world
Hahah we definitely should have a head bump counter! 😂 & Thank you so much - it really means a lot to hear this 🥹 We can't wait to share more of the adventures with you!! Thanks for coming along for the ride ☺️
It's an amazing country and reminds me of my home in the UK. If I had to move to another country it'd be NZ. Currently I'm in Oz which is great too, it just isn't NZ!
Love this guys!! What an adventure you have ahead of you 😍 can't wait to go back to NZ and explore more. We've just moved permanently back to Australia so we're right there with you with a new journey!
Thank you!! We're excited to visit Australia one day soon, so we'll definitely have to swap tips 😁 Hope your move has gone well and you have a great rest of the summer in your new home ☺️

Thank you so much! 😊 We'll definitely have to follow along on each other's journeys in that case - hope your next move goes well! Looking forward to seeing where you're headed :)
Moving to New Zealand. You best think again as this place is sadly going down the toilet. We've all been somewhere we think we could move to but living there is totally different.
The L on the gear shift stands for Load. It puts the car in low gear for when are towing something. Oh and wlcome to New Zealand aka Middle Earth ake The Land Even More Down Under aka Aotearoa.
Nz is a beautiful country but cant stand Auckland the traffic is crazy and the people are unfriendly get out of Auckland and everything changes people are friendly and more beautiful and green but i think south Island is way better.
Many of the twits are back from the beach this week. It's been bliss on the roads since the 19th of December! Auckland's a great place when they're not here.
