    Just made this for dinner. I filled them with left over birria & queso. I added a little more water to the masa & it was just perfect! My family loves that I found you because I'm constantly inspired by all your food!

      These can be filled with just about anything and it’s a great way to use up leftover :) I am very happy to have you here! ☺️ Thank you so much!

      I had Gorditas made like these in Saltillo, Mexico! Filled like a pupusa, but they called them gorditas nonetheless! 🙂
      So excited to have a recipe like the ones I had so long ago… I’ve never forgotten them! 😁

    Isn’t this called a pupusa? Aren’t Gorditas the ones you cut in half and then fill? I know the “correct” term doesn’t matter much but that’s just what I was lead to believe

    • @SaltyCocina
      @SaltyCocina  ปีที่แล้ว

      These are cut in half but I understand how they can be confused. Food is similar but prepared differently depending what part of Latin America you are from.

    I'm thinking of making maize gorditas with ricotta and spinach but chorizo doesn't sound bad either and ricotta's kind of bland...

    Is gorditas basically like the Mexican version of a pupusa? Lol

    • @SaltyCocina
      @SaltyCocina  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think so too. I love how food connects us. The recipes are similar but different, and thats okay : )

    • @SaltyCocina
      @SaltyCocina  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It makes 6-8 Gorditas depending on the size
