- This 16-year-old dog was rescued from Tijuana and taken back to the United States. He leaned all his weight onto his rescuer when she saved him, as a way of saying thanks-and he still does! Watch him find the perfect home and settle into his new life.

It hurt me every time I looked at one of his front paws when he walked.
One of our cats was born with a leg like that. He's missing one of his joints. His name's Ching but we call him gimpy (I'm also gimpy).
When the weather's good he's fine, runs, jumps, plays, just like a normal cat, but when it gets cold you can tell it aches, he holds it up or cradles it on his big fluffy tail ( they're half norwegian forest cat).
He's got his own special box with a heating pad, we lay out towel's and rugs on any of our hard floors, etc.
The vet said the only thing we could do was amputate, but since it only bothers him in the cold they wouldn't suggest it. So we have a gimpy baby (he's 13).
Him and his sister's were born in our house after our neighbors moved and left their cat behind in the deadly cold Michigan winter. His sister's are fine, but he also had a brother who was born deformed, back legs all bent up. We're pretty sure the mother killed him, because he was loud and active one day, then the next he was dead. She also kept trying to push him away when the others were nursing.

My dog is 14yrs... we rescued her at 6months old......from a bad owner... Now she has Arthritis. She is happy and we help her on small walks or in a cart. She is never alone. Her face is now white and she don't hear so good, but her eyes are like big bright pools of love. 4 years ago she had a throat cancer op. Now it has returned. She has filled my life with joy and helped me with PSTD. She is my best friend. She took care of me. .. Now its my turn to take care of her. I don't know how much time left we have together, but it will be too short.
Dogs may be a part of your life, but to them, you are their whole life. Love them, and care for them.

we have 5 dogs. They all want attention, (very important) getting plenty. Best food. small dogs. but keep me moving, so we all benefit from each other, Even an older doggy. She is in very good shape. A lot of people dont have the money to go to the vet when needed. Vets here have horrendous prices, But glad to pay as long as my doggies are fine. I dont want to see any suffering around us

My dog had cancer once. "It wasn't that bad but it could get worse" the doctor said, So he needed a surgery. After the surgery, I was with him in the car and just like sol he fell on to me, and looked at me with his ears back in a way that he's never gonna leave my side. That was the favourite moment of my life. Kesu ( his name) lives as a member of my family now.

Yes. My teacher said she was getting a dog from a breeder in the Spring. I was so sad.
Many breeders don't even earn a plus from breeding. If they earn a lot of money through breeding, that's not a good sign.
A dog from a good breeder will be much more predictable than a shelter dog, which is a good thing if you need specific traits, like an antiallergic dog. A shelter dog might also be traumatised and react strongly to certain impulses, which is bad with little children (although many shelter dogs probably are fine with children). A dog that was born in the best conditions possible (a good breeder that gives the pups and the mother all the vet care, socialization, and love they need from before day 1) and that you adopted as a puppy means that you know that the dog experienced good things in life (as long as you treat it well obviously).
In my country, we don't have such a big stray problem, so many dogs in shelters are there because of behavioural problems like aggression.
Also, some shelters have ridiculous conditions regarding who can adopt. Many shelters only give you an animal if you're around 24/7, which is just not possible for many in this emancipated world where both in a couple go to work. You should never leave the dog alone for more than 4 hours a day because doing this regularly will cripple the dog's bladder, but 1-2 hours a day should be okay and accepted by shelters, as long as you give it lots of exercise every day too.
So because of these conditions many people have no choice but go to a breeder.
All in all I think you should definitely adopt and not shop. NEVER buy in a pet shop, NEVER from a breeder you haven't researched properly.
Think about adopting first, but if that's not possible for you, buying from GOOD breeders that don't breed malformed dogs like pugs is okay.

I agree, but keep in mind that people, who buy from breeders, are keeping this 'business' alive. They probably would; not even appreciate the love of this amazing creature.

My dog passed away May 30th from cancer. During her final days she couldn't lay down and lost the use of her back legs, she couldn't lay flat or sideways cause it hurt her too much so I took a big pillow we had and let her lean on me for support. She would occasionally fall asleep on me, she was a 15 year old Basset Hound named Reba, adopted her when she was 10 from a shelter. I miss her so fucking much.

We have adopted adopted/rescued 3 dogs. All of them have brought so much joy to our house.

I wish we could, as an entire country, stop breeding dogs. Stop backyard breeding, stop being lazy, and not getting our animals fixed, stop wanting our dogs to have just one litter. I would love for us to have so few dogs available in America, that we could help other countries and bring their dogs here for homes. That's my forever wish. But on Thanksgiving, I'm glad we have people that are willing to rescue.

Banning pet shops would go a long way towards achieving this. If no pet stores, puppy mills would not exist. There would be still some backyard breeders, but fewer and on a smaller scale, so easier to regulate. There is literally no reason for pet shops to exist, at least when it comes to dogs and cats.

Dogs in other countries carry the same diseases that they do here - rabies, distemper, etc. - which is why they (dogs coming into this country) are thoroughly checked over and inoculated before entering the country. My best friend told her teenage son that whenever he was ready he could adopt a dog. He saw two senior Malamute brothers online and said, "Those are my dogs"
They now have adopted the two 12 year old dogs that were pretty much born the same time her son was. They don't limp anymore, their fur has become glorious, they love to play now, and go for miles long walks. They were so sad before my friend found them and had been returned to the shelter TWICE before! They have their furever home now with their new Boy. 🥰 it's been truly amazing to watch.

I hope his leg/foot issue was addressed. Looks so painful.
Probably a badly healed break from a while ago, and he's a senior dog. Unlikely that a vet would try to remedy that situation, as the cure might be more likely to kill the dog than fix it. It IS heartbreaking, but at least he's in a happy, healthy home now, with people who are giving him the care and love he needs.

I’m not lying since I started watching your videos I’ve been secretly looking in bushes every time I go somewhere hoping to find an animal to rescue but I’ve have had no luck 🥺 only once we rescued a cat a few years ago

If you have any open water, check it for insects. I once rescued a cricket with a tree branch in a park lake, but it was worth it 🦗

I get my dogs from a reputable breeder. I never get them from shelters because those are dogs that nobody wants and a lot of the dogs have mental health problems and can be highly aggressive. Its too much of a chance to risk that from a shelter.
@@uglyhobo4602 no it's not, there are lots of dogs in shelters across the world that there is nothing wrong with and they shouldn't be there, it's just that their owners didn't actually want to take care of a dog. Because it's a lot of work, time consuming and expensive to own a dog. Many people get into it and realize after the fact that they don't want to do it or they're not able. Add to that, the fact that some dogs get sick or injured which means huge vet bills, and some breeds are more demanding because of grooming, exercise, training, or size requirements. Making these dogs even more unwanted when the owners are not prepared, responsible or capable. So please don't lump all shelter dogs into a category, and please go and get to know the shelters and rescue organizations near you, so you can give a deserving rescue pup a chance next time - adopt, don't shop! And I am confident that you will be beyond glad that you did❣️💯👍🏼🙏🏼✨
Such a wonderful outcome for this gracious old boy. It's so heart breaking to see so many elderly dogs being overlooked in shelters in favour of younger dogs PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't condemn an elderly soul to a life in sanctuaries and kennels, They have just as much love to give as a younger one.

Hes so sweet. My Charlie died on me last Friday (feb. 5th). He was about 13 y/o. A chihuahua corgi mix (a chigi). We'd been together 24/7 since May 2020. Became super close. He had many health problems and I guess hed had enough and his heart just gave .
I feel so empty. I hurt all the time. Im all alone now. Looking at this vid made me think that maybe I'll get another old dog, like the one here in this video and make him feel loved thru his last period of life. I'll make him feel glad to be with me. I'll never stop loving Charlie, but I can make other old babies feel happy.

We took two: a Chihuahua at 17, and a Rat Terrier at 15. When the husband died he made his wife promise she'd never give them away, as they were his dogs and the only home they'd ever known.... she didn't keep her promise. Although the Rat Terrier, Patchie, died within the year baking my heart, the Chichi, Ginnie, lived to be 23. They were both wonderful dogs.
All dogs young and old need a good home.what your'e doing is so beautiful.

poor baby, look at his right front leg, poor thing. They say that the first night in a new forever home the dog will sleep it's deepest sleep ever knowing he is safe, warm and loved. A great weight has been lifted. The journey was exhausting.

Oh Sol looks 100% sweetie, all he needed was a safe place to be loved! I wasn't looking for another dog, definitely not one from another country when there's a perfectly good dog rescue 6 miles away - and *definitely* not a terrified one the size of a Shetland pony. But this one picture, out of the hundreds my friends share on social media, just spoke so clearly to something deep inside me. What it said was "What's MY dog doing in France?"
So I followed that feeling. Reilly is even bigger now, has come out of his shell completely, is a daft and stubborn donkey dog who's smelly and naughty and takes up way too much room on the bed ('velcro dog'). I adore him and he adores me. I'm not a believer in the supernatural, but have to admit there's a such an inexplicable thing as Dog Magic.
