Every now and again a couple comes along who really surprises you. Lydia & Sam had a wedding that absolutely blew me away...
I really feel like there is so much to be learned from Lydia & Sam and the wedding they had - their attitude towards planning and enjoying their day, for me, is the perfect example of how it's done: Nothing taken too seriously, personalities on full display, unapologetically having the best time, and not letting the little things bother you. 'Joy' seemed to be what was chosen as their wedding theme, and they absolutely nailed it.
Whilst Lydia & Sam's wedding hit the traditional milestones, their wedding had a thread of fun and madness weaved throughout everything. An antique taxidermied fox provided storage for guests hats, and ended up becoming a central figure on the dancefloor in the evening. Sam's brass trumpet also provided some unexpected entertainment, used to alert guests to announcements throughout the day. Even King Charles was in attendance! And who could forget the moment when the entire wedding congregation was in stitches laughing at how bad their performance was of 'The Lord is my Shepherd'. These moments are just a small selection of what made Lydia & Sam's wedding so uniquely awesome - a wedding I will absolutely never forget and will live on as one of the most amazing, silly, fun and authentic weddings I've ever had the honour of capturing.
