Very lucky. Keeping an unloaded firearm next to a similar firearm that's loaded is a recipe for disaster. When you are stressed you don't have time to think about every detail. If it's a semi auto you should keep a round chambered. People have died trying to chamber a round, taking precious seconds, in order to be able to fire a shot.
@@packrat76 I always had a "piece", loaded, under a Kleenex box from which I'd removed the bottom, left tissue coming out of the top. I kept it next to my bed. This was when an ex-boyfriend was stalking me.

Yes. He can claim that. He confessed that he entered house to rob but were attacked by the people living in that house and so acted to defend himself.

I was just wondering the same thing.
I think it was something do with there memories, after being shot in the face. Maybe they couldn't remember closely enough to use them for ID. People with head injury's can get very confused, or even mix up similar looking people.
Yes but I think they d need to put him at the scene of the crimes, we all have doubles apparently.

I don't know if he did all of the murders. There's some serious questions on 4 of the 6 murders. 4 of the 6 may be suicides.

I cannot believe a man capable of slaughtering so many innocent people confessed. Grateful, but shocked. His girlfriend drops him off near murders and doesn't believe he's involved? Hope they liquidated all the stuff and were able to give some money back.

30:34 I thought that was dumb they way they went to a suspected murderer's previous known address without first finding out if he's there.
They could have instead sent a good looking police woman there inquiring if he was home.
She could have given the mother in law a story about how when the suspect was a mechanic,
he loaned her money. And she so much wanted to pay him back, because she was desparate at the time and she wants to thank him.

Daniel Blank was also the name of a serial killer in the book "The First Deadly Sin" 1973 by Lawrence Sanders. A great read. Later made into a decent film with Frank Sinatra as the cop who has to track down the elusive Mr. Blank.

We are so wicked to ourselves, as we listen how the act was committed everyone will know that the killer is someone who knew the victims very well and knew their financial back ground, he didn't want to work for his own financial situation, but someone must work for him and he becomes the collector, evil monster attacking older people who have worked for their old age. @Nicholas Ramey The law differs in different countries & states, but in many places the charge can be 'aiding & abetting after the fact', where the onus is on the associate to try & prove the difficult task of showing that they weren't aware of the crimes!

I watched my fiance die in my arms of stage 4 cancer, slipping away slow painful death...
And me and my 14 siblings watched both our parents die of old age and diseases....
When they died a piece of me died too.
I guess tag I'm it....now I'm at rehab recovery from traumatic brain injury, I had a small apple size tumor near the memory part of the brain pressing against it with fluid build up...

This case provoked two questions in me: how anyone could be so brutal, & why anyone would keep $100,000 in their home when it would be so much more secure in a bank?
Anyone can be so brutal and anyone can keep that kind of cash in their home.
Banks are, as recent history shows, prone to failure.
If they were alive in the 1930s during the depressions, they probably distrust banks, and for good reason.

A good morning from a New Zealand crime junkie, I love watching all the shows so real so unbelievable. It really makes you loose faith in the world on the type of people there is in the world, sometimes its a cop thts doin the crime . So when I watch nd they're caught it gives me hope that these awful crimes don't happen but when they catch one there's always another thousands to stop, catch, take down. But it's the forensics that really amaze me to know those people do the impossible to get these crimes out of action. Power to the crime fighters awesome. I always watch true crime, even better when you see the shows nd the fbi guys that play the real guys so uncanny hoe they get actors tht really look alike. So it makes the shows more appealing when you see the real guys Trans to a series. I love it. MY HEART GOES OUT TO THOSE WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LOVED ONES TO THESE CRIMINALS . What I don’t understand is why they never mentioned if they tried to show the guy’s photo to the two surviving victims to positively ID him… I guess they did but couldn’t make an ID… Anyway, glad they finally nailed this scumbag.. what a waste of space….
With that much injury, their memory must have suffered very much and might not be reliable enough

Had Mr. Rowland been to the shooting range more often, he would have been aware of which gun was loaded. Why he would keep hidden guns unloaded is beyond me.
Maybe they have grand kids and the kid could find the gun.
Especially a revolver, they can jam but are less likely to when well maintained. Unlike a magazine which the spring can get weaker overtime in.

Anyone else get annoyed when they use Luminol? Like my mom cut her foot a few months ago, looked like a freaking blood bath, almost had to take her to the hospital but I elevated her foot and tied a bandage. My house would light up like the Eiffel Tower at night, especially the bathroom. We've lived in this house for 35 years, 14 of them with someone with hemophilia. And the house is over 130 years old.
Yes, especially knowing that other things like bleach also glow. We do work on houses. My partner cuts themselves all the time and bleeds all over the place. I'm afraid one day they will be accused of a crime because of it.
