After replacing the ice maker, turn the water valve back on then Reset the unit. Push and hold the small switch at the front bottom of the unit. The ice maker will cycle and at the end of the cycle, you will hear a chime, and then water running into the unit.
Hi. I did exactly what was shown on the video. Part# I have isa DA96_07603B. It's been about 4 hours now and I still have no ice on the tray inside the freezer. I know I plugged in the ice maker to the harness real good. I want to know how long I should wait before ice is actually made and thrown onto the tray inside the drawer freezer. I just purchased the replacement part brand new
I wish I could add a photo. I am trying to find the 2 pieces that hold the back of the tray to the top, the pieces that you have to slide into. I have called Samsung and they don't know what I am talking about. Any idea what to call them? I need to buy them or get them 3D printed.
Unfortunately, that is not recommended. If you remove the ice maker you are still going to have the water lines going to it, so you could damage the water lines and get leaks and the unit may not work properly if it's removed.
@@bmaerhofer I was kind of lucky - it is hard to describe in a short message but there was a good amount of excess water line before the connection to the fridge. I could see that there was a very small amount of water would barely trickle out of the water line after I disconnected it to the fridge and that is why I suspected it was clogged. Since there was a lot of extra water line (which is a thin metalic flexible pipe) i had a bucket ready and was shortening it one foot at a time by cutting it. I was lucky that the clogged part was near the end of the water pipe/line so I could just cut it off the clogged portion. I am not sure how you might unclog it - you would need a plumber to advise. At the very least you can disconnect the water line from the fridge and see if when you turn the water back on if the line is working and confirm it is the fridge itself that is the problem.

What is your model number?
That lever on the bottom broke off, whats its purpose on the ice maker, and will it still work, or need to be replaced?
You would most likely need to replace it. What is the model number of your fridge?
Excellent video!!! He walked me through it s tep by step and problem was resolved.
Our ice maker is making ice, but it’s also leaking water into the ice bin. The water hose is in the correct location. What can cause this?
can I remove the ice maker permanently to make space in the bottom freezer ?

Hey my ice maker still turns the tray over but won't pour water - do you think replacing this part is the right fix
Good Question - Mine is doing the same! I have a new ice maker coming tomorrow and will respond if that fixes my issue.
@@bmaerhofer Actually it ending up being my water line being plugged, lol - the ice maker was working all along.
@@steverapos3904 How do you unplug it?

@@steverapos3904 thanks for the advice!
My bin keeps filling with water and freezing all the cubes in the bin together. Does anyone know if this part will fix the problem?
I have the same problem. Were u able to fix it?
Can it be removed permanently?
what happened when it makes ice but cannot dispense ice?

When the lever is pressed does it make a noise or does the auger motor run or hum?
