It’s always fun to see what You’re doing, and I love the story about the dog and how she knows You and keep out of reach in case You drop things…those crazy fury loved ones. We had to put our dog to sleep 4 weeks ago and it’s so empty without her. 😢

Denise,another great instalment of your 12 days creative countdown.I love making A.T.C's and made seasonal ones to put inside Xmas cards for closer friends.(Matt) I think the 48 set and the Art Nouveau set of the Gansai paints are so perfect for mixed media,if people used them like this they'd really love them too,and stop thinking of them as watercolours.
I completely agree! I don't really think of them as watercolors! They are so versatile and perfect for the mixed media work!! I love that you sent some ATC's in your cards!! 🤗🤗🤗

There used to be a hickory tree on my way to school as a kid. I used to look around the ground for nuts and eat them on the way to school. They were so good!

Haha... those nuts needed more than just being thrown to crack them! The one I opened was so hard I crushed it and the nut by the time I finally got it open! 😂
Oooh my god! My dog jewels it’s also like your dog suki! She is always so aware of my noises because she feels I am going to drop stuff in her head, I feel terrible when I scare her. What a great exercise. Gonna have to try that. Haven't done ATCs in years! I printed out the festive art prompts and the recipes and I'm going to make a set of ATCs for my best friend (and art buddy) with the prompts as her Christmas Present. I have a really cool box set aside that I will also decorate and I think she'll really like it (or I hope so). If the hickory nuts are like pecans and walnuts, you need to let them dry before cracking them open. I think that makes them a little easier. And your little furbaby that goes outside really is getting a workout for her "sky is falling" paranoia, lol.

I actually watch a person on TH-cam who has a lot of chipmunks that come to her deck. 🤭 She feeds chipmunks and the birds; she's like Snow White! 🤍

I was watching this video while making California Chicken Salad. Was just about to serve it when you started talking about the hickory nuts tasting like pecans, and I was like dang! I forgot the almonds! Just wanted to let you know that you saved the chicken salad. 😂. One never knows how the butterfly effect will manifest, I guess. Lovely pieces, and so much fun! 😊
My condo is 50 years old and this is a pretty big tree… so it might be that old… Ive lived here 20 years and I don’t remember it ever having nuts! We were surprised this year as it kept dropping nuts on us! 😂😂😂… I wonder if it will have any next year.
My mother-law had a Macadamia nut tree in her yard. I thought I'd gather some to use in cooking. First you need a special cracker. They have a leather skin on them that you need to remove before getting to the hard shell. Cracking them was super difficult and then I would have to get the meat out with a nut pick. It would be in pieces... I had about 1/4 cup after an hour of work. Needless to say, I left the rest of the nuts to the animals and birds. I now know why they are the most expensive in the market and I buy them instead. Lol.

What or how exactly do you trade these little cards and with whom do you trade with. I know it a really dumb question but I am kinda stumped on this idea. I am in the septuagenarian stage of life so please be kind. 😘
You can trade them with other artists. There are groups on Facebook that I have come across that trade the cards - search Artist Trading Card groups on there and some will come up... I keep mine since I do workshops for examples. I use them for prompt cards, collage material, pieces to include in journals, tags, things to add to cards you send to someone, etc... I just like the Artist trading card size of these. 🤗🤗🤗
Not a dumb question at all. I’ve gone to stamping/scrapbooking expos that used to have contests for the best ATC and encourage trading them with each other. They seem to be popular again.

Haha! Suki is no dummy. She is an 8 year old Morki. Yorkie/maltese mix. She looks like a blond Maltese. She probably was judging me 😂😂😂… I didn’t save any of the nuts… but the squirrels and chipmunks lived like kings this year! 🐿️🐿️🐿️

If they are sitting on my table in their box they came in and I have the lid off - they are sitting up right as they just fall out of the box - that is only when I am using them. If I have the lid on then I have them stored on their side - as most of the paint markers I own recommend that.
@@suezq456 Yes, for now they are in my stash. I use things like this for samples, examples, future projects, photos, etc… so they won’t just waste away in a box 🤗🤗🤗
I would definitely recommend an Epson eco print printer you will be able to print so many papers without having to buy expensive cartridges all the time
@@meikamartin953 Just went to Costco yesterday and was appalled that my Epson Envy cartridges (2) were $98! 🤯 I saw the eco printer and was going to look into it .I don’t print that much but was also wondering if a laser printer might be the way to go. Thanks for the suggestion.

Next to peeling tape, cutting up my artwork is one of my favorite arty things to do. Makes every piece a success, good or "not so much".❤

Denise, do you store your Arrtyx Anime Markers vertically, since they are one-ended, or horizontally?
If they are sitting on my table in their box they came in and I have the lid off - they are sitting up right as they just fall out of the box - that is only when I am using them. If I have the lid on then I have them stored on their side - as most of the paint markers I own recommend that.
