This astral channel that is a byproduct of their physical intimacy lasts for a period no less than twelve years from the last contact. Until then, this channel becomes a source of confusion in one's life even more so when these people have moved onto other relationships because one's being is astrally invaded by another. When one longs for another, the other subject may unknowingly tend to recollect their past memories. Sometimes they enter into each other's dreams as well. If one among the two parties involved is in bad terms with another. For example, if one party feels betrayed, all the hatred, jealousy and emotional turmoil forms a karmic mess and the astral connection becomes a channel to let that mess severely impact the one at the receiving end. This situation is even more hopeless for a person whose sexual encounters are reckless such as when lacking consent of another, forced, etc.
In case of true lovers, the interaction also occurs at the level of manipura and the heart centers. There may be mutual consent and surrender between them whilst engaging in physical intimacy. This is indeed a gandharva vivaha but even in such cases there will be sadness and anger that gets nurtured if they part ways and this becomes a huge mess again to deal with as it causes a lot of confusion in their following relationships or marriages if any. The effect of a mere hug with a person may take atleast a month to wear off its effects from the astral body! What to speak of sex? This is why you see traditional Hindus are very very wary of whom they touch physically. This can be extended to non sexual relations also such as that of a mother and son who are connected at the level of manipura chakras owing to the umbilical cord. A mother can know if something's wrong with her kid even if the kid is at a far off place. Likewise when a kid is worried, a hug from a parent disorients the worry and fear in the child's mind and all of this is not coincidental put purely happens at an astral level due to interactions we have with people. Sexually intimacy is the most gross form of interaction and it's traces are very very hard to erase from the mind.
