  • In this video, I bring you along with me on my first time flying business class with Etihad Airways. I got this Etihad business class flight for less than $50 dollars by redeeming Aeroplan points with American Express MR points. Stay tuned to the end where I tell you how it was done!

    Hi Friends! I'm still new at this whole video thing and would love any feedback on the video! I know I need to fix my coloring and audio but any additional feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Watching someone try buisiness class for the first time is one of my favourite things. Glad you had a great flight. Aeroplan is a gamechanger - I'm flying Etihad First for the first time this weekend and it was all on Aeroplan :)

    Really like your personality - so many travel bloggers these days come across as very jaded when it comes to luxury plane travel, so it's nice to see someone who displays the sheer joy of the experience. One tip, though: get a dedicated mic for next time. Very hard to hear what you're saying. Thanks.

      Hi Justin! Thank you -I'm glad my excitement showed because I was like a child up there! I actually was using a Rode Video Mic - I'm not sure if my volume settings were messed or what happened but I also noticed the volume quality was poopoo so I'm trying to figure that out. I appreciate your feedback :)

    Great redemption and glad you enjoyed your flight. Etihad was also my first business class flight (it was on the A380 instead of the A350 you flew). On the redemption part, I would caution you (or anyone doing points and miles) that your true cost wasn't $50. The 80k+ in points can easily be redeemed for close to $1k in cash so factor that into your calculation (i.e., you chose points instead of cash so you bought those points with the cash you could've gotten). Also you only mentioned one way, what happened to the return trip? How much was that in points plus cash? Your one way trip in business is probably around $1,100 (still a great value no doubt but not $50). The $50 is a real attention grabber but the cost is no where close to $50.

      You are correct so many vloggers these days gets your attention by these incredible low out of pocket miles redemption cost but no one mentions about the return flight and how much those are and what would be the total cost of the trip. If you have to do both ways business class using just points that would need an insane amount of points and also travel once every 5 years maybe in order to accumulate that many points.

    Wow! What an awesome experience for only $50! Do you still continue to use that credit card? I was thinking of signing up for credit cards for their welcome bonuses… and then cancelling after switching everything… but that work is so tedious sometimes that it’s not worth it haha

      It has changed travel for me!! Yes I do! I have a couple of the Americans express ones along with some other bank travel ones. Im planning on keeping one of my platinum Amex ones because they provide you with unlimited lounge access!!
      Defoe look into it! I know the US cards have different welcome bonuses (usually better than Canada's)!

    How do you add stop over in Aeroplan?

    • @itsjesslau
      @itsjesslau  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ben! You'll have to call in directly to Aeroplan within 24 hours of booking your flight! For example, I booked Chicago > Bangkok. Then right away called in to add a stopover in Abu Dhabi!
