Love these guys. Was lucky to get to tour with them (as an "I'm-just-happy-to-be-here" member of a supporting band): 30 nights, 30 North American cities, and let me tell you, every night Scott authentically delivered. Hardest working Scotsman in show biz. And the crew were beyond prepared to back him accordingly. This song reminds me of those days. (And maybe a little of early Chad VanGaalen. In a pleasing way). Anyway, see them in concert when you can, talk to 'em if you can. Besides "you are not alone," they taught me: Never touch your songs without feeling them. *Mean* them again /every time. Care harder. That tour changed my life. Thanks, gentlemen.
I passed Scott a couple of times in Glasgow. Having been a massive fan for years,I was a bit starstruck.and walked on by.hindsight now says I should have said hello and thank him for the music.and told him that his music got me out of some crappy places.so thank you Scott.you helped me a lot and still do.a true artist.you gave hope to a hopeless chap.and still do. All the love in the world xx
RIP Scott..thanks for the music that you've brilliantly created through the years, youre one frightened rabbit that will never be forgotten..farewell,man
I’ve been living in a dust bowl, with half-closed eyes And if I believe the radio, the levee is dry There is sick on the pavement from seven weeks ago Nothing is sacred, not even our home Feels like there’s a drug-dust, filling up my nose I won’t be sorry anymore, since January 1st When everything got rained on, washed away the dirt Saw the heavens letting go, in a melancholy burst Everything got rained on, didn’t even hurt Everything has changed not for better or for worse All these tears turn to rain, it doesn’t matter anymore In the end they’re both the same, we're less filthy than before Didn’t ask for a downpour, didn’t need a flood Still I think I found the answer, somewhere in the mud All this lying in the sun, doesn’t fill my cup I won’t be sorry anymore, since January 1st When everything got rained on, washed away the dirt Saw the heavens letting go, in a melancholy burst Everything got rained on, didn’t even hurt I won’t be sorry anymore, since January 1st When everything got rained on, washed away the dirt Saw the heavens letting go, in a melancholy burst Everything got rained on, didn’t even hurt I don’t plan on feeling empty for any longer than I must If California needs a drink I’ll be joining her for one
This song is GORGEOUS, and the production of it is perfect, so rich and resonant. It's absolutely the star of the EP. I’m trying to just stay present listening to these songs, appreciating their pure quality and beauty. It hurts to imagine all the amazing songs still left within him, unwritten. It also hurts to know that he was hurting so very badly.
I hope the band carry on the memory of this great sound, it sounds so mature, simply brilliant on the same level of 'The National' even better maybe, we will never know. Fingers crossed that we will know
Minutes before he was reported missing Scott Hutchison, chief songwriter, artist, lead vocalist & guitarist of Frightened Rabbit tweeted: "Be so good to everyone you love. It's not a given. I'm so annoyed that it's not. I didn't live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones." Minutes later he added "Im away now.Thanks". Last May 9,2018 ,Scott was reported missing and police searching for the missing Scott found a body on May 10,2018 near South Queensferry in Edinburgh, Scotland. His family had been informed about the discovery and formal identification of his body has yet to take place as of this posting ...So sad, very sad

Lovely message Ian. Never got to see him live and wish I did. Can't understand why he wasn't absolutely massive.
I saw them live twice and I will cherish those memories forever.
“Saw the heavens letting go , in a melancholy burst “ is such a beautiful lyric .
One of the last songs they ever ecorded turned out one of their greatest.
So true, and unfortunately one that will probably be overlooked.

That's beautiful man.
With this band I keep discovering these gems that slipped by me originally somehow. This one is absolutely stunning.
Probably my favourite's FR song and the last one they recorded. We miss you a lot Scott.

This song is an absolute masterpiece. It kills me that most people have never heard it. I wish this video had millions of views..
I’ve been living in a dust bowl, with half-closed eyes
And if I believe the radio, the levee is dry
There is sick on the pavement from seven weeks ago
Nothing is sacred, not even our home
Feels like there’s a drug-dust, filling up my nose
I won’t be sorry anymore, since January 1st
When everything got rained on, washed away the dirt
Saw the heavens letting go, in a melancholy burst
Everything got rained on, didn’t even hurt
Everything has changed not for better or for worse
All these tears turn to rain, it doesn’t matter anymore
In the end they’re both the same, we're less filthy than before
Didn’t ask for a downpour, didn’t need a flood
Still I think I found the answer, somewhere in the mud
All this lying in the sun, doesn’t fill my cup
I won’t be sorry anymore, since January 1st
When everything got rained on, washed away the dirt
Saw the heavens letting go, in a melancholy burst
Everything got rained on, didn’t even hurt
I won’t be sorry anymore, since January 1st
When everything got rained on, washed away the dirt
Saw the heavens letting go, in a melancholy burst
Everything got rained on, didn’t even hurt
I don’t plan on feeling empty for any longer than I must
If California needs a drink I’ll be joining her for one
Josh Klein Josh Klein I think it's "Saw the heavens letting go, in a melancholy burst"
His voice strikes so so deeply. I really wish there was a live version out there.

Really, really impressive song. One of the best ever written by Scott Hutchison. Packs a ton of emotional power in the lyrics and music.
I hope the band carry on the memory of this great sound, it sounds so mature, simply brilliant on the same level of 'The National' even better maybe, we will never know. Fingers crossed that we will know
