And the trumpet work was equally smooth and expert, almost effortless, as fiendishly hard as it is getting consistent tone and control of volume out of the valveless horns. These two musicians put a brand new layer of pure gold leaf on this old aria, and who knew there was so very much left to say?

Gobsmacked. Damn, that was good beyond good! Both of them. The baritone is smooth and magisterial, and at the same time almost playful with the innovative ornamentation, flawlessly executed. All smiles, this is my favorite aria of the work and I never heard it so delicious.
This is a tenor and not a baritone.

Really good work! I understand about intonation but if we're trying to get the sound of the baroque shouldn't we not use holes? But than again those are metal strings. That said, before anyone says it, no I can't do better.

He ist good enough nice in that "middle" part - but the Rest is ???? Not so sharp... It is difficult and very edgy, but he struggled there in very beginning - buttig it togerther with low rage tones being that Issue...
