Those that came out of the Great Tribulation in Rev. 7:9-16 came out of the Church Age Tribulation. Those that die during the 70th week must WAIT until there fellow brothers die in like manner, so says Jesus via the 5th Seal conversation with them. They are judged in Rev. 20:4, after the Second Coming. The Church Returns with Jesus.
Israel, via the 1/3 {Zechariah 13:8-9} who repent. Look at Gen. 37:9, it says Joseph dreamed a dream that the Sun {Jacob} Moon {Rachel} and 11 stars {his brothers} would one day bow down unto him. So the Sun, Moon ad 12 stars = Israel.
Yes there are 12 from the 12. Doesn't the description go on to say that the 144000 Wil be sinless and virgins? I believe it does and I heard an interesting theory on who that might be referring to. I think it was Harod that killed all those children 2 years and younger. It's those kids that one pastor thinks makes up the 144! Another interesting point is that Jesus would have growing up with no one he's the same age or within 2 years of his age, I thought that was an interesting point
I'm guessing that the Two Witnesses are James and John. Matthew 16:28 asserts that at least two of the disciples are still alive today and will not die until they see Jesus coming. They were also present at the transfiguration and are indeed therefore witnesses (rather than believers). They asked for special privileges in the Kingdom and agreed to be baptised with the same baptism as Jesus, they will serve for three and a half years, be killed, rise from the dead and ascend to heaven. Jesus tells Peter the manner of his (Peter's) death, but refuses to confirm that John will die. Reports of the deaths of these two disciples may be false.
The context of Matthew 16 verse 28 could not be made any clearer. Jesus is addressing his disciples beginning at verse 24. In the following verse - at the beginning of the next chapter - we learn that the transfiguration happened 6 days later. The inclusion of Moses and Elijah was presumably for the benefit of James and John, because Jesus said (most especially) to Peter (when he enquired of John's mission) "follow me", precisely because James and John were to follow Moses and Elijah.
Please consider the possibility that not all of the 144,000 are Israeli Jews. Remember all Jews are Israelites, but not all Israelites are from the Tribe of Judah. 12,000 from the tribe of Judah (who could be Messianic believers today) would be about right to teach the gospel of the kingdom to the nation of Israel. The other 132,000 (descendants from the lost tribes of Israel, who many believe are from the EC, UK & USA) would be located all over the world as part of the new evangelism. They have not been raptured as they have been elected to preach the gospel of the kingdom. Would they be raptured at the same time as the two witnesses? The reason only males are mentioned is obvious, look at the Genealogy in the bible, only men were listed. The 144,000 represent all Jewish men who repent and their families who repent. The number 12 = fullness, thus 12 x 12,000 = ALL Israel. There are no lost tribes and never were, they just became "Generic Jews" when the Northern Kingdoms were taken away for wickedness. The Levites left the Wicked Northern Kingdom, likewise some of Judah who loved evil lived in the Northern Kingdom, but EVERY TRIBE had people living in Jerusalem, so when the Northern Tribes were taken away, NOTHING was lost, each tribe had SEED living in Judah !! There was never any lost tribes. When the Jews were taken away in 70 AD and brought back, they were just all recognized as Jews. The 144,000 are never said ANYWHERE to be preachers. Please find it someone and show me, its not there. These are the Fleeing Jews whom God PROTECTS in Petra for 1260 days. That is why the Trumpets have to be held up until they make it to Petra.....ARE SEALED....Protected.
