I bought a new pc with i5-13600 and rtx 4070, but for the full hd resolution (240hz monitor), i hope it will be working nice, it is finally time for my gtx 1060 to retire, it was such a nice card :)
DLSS: All the performance gain is real. Frame generation: Only half of the performance gain is real (since this is the technology that creates intermediate frames, and that's why when your game gives 60 FPS it doesn't give you 15 milliseconds, it does serve to gain performance, but only half of those extra FPS is real.) Maybe that's why the games let us activate it separately (I don't think everyone gives the option to activate it separately, I really don't know, but there are those who do let you.)

RTX 4070 will always provide you better user experience than 6950xt. 6950xt provides more fps than 4070, but keep in mind in ray tracing 6950xt performs same as 4070 even less and ray tracing is the best part for enjoying current aaa games's graphics. 4k not needed and is a scam. I guess for use on a big TV monitor. 55inch 4k, the DPI is worse than a smaller 1080p monitor. The refresh rates always better on smaller, dedicated gaming monitors too.

Finally 1080p! I feel he was trying to make the 4070 look bad in some way by showing 1440p and 4k and with settings maxed out. I want power efficiency, and 4070 wins by far. One single 8-pin power and slot-power all that is needed. I feel all companies should start maximizing performance/efficiency based on a TDP of 200W or less. I see he still uses Ultra/High though. Would be nice to see a 1080p version of games tested with varying settings to say medium to high. RT on/off. Seeing the power usage of RT, I am not a big fan of it.
i agree, it's good in dlss 3 but i'm personally probably not going to give up like 30-45 fps just for ray tracing. i would love to see performance tested at medium-high settings, since i much prefer a balance of frames and graphics. who wants to play on 60fps even if it's on ultra...

6950XT is faster and has more VRAM. Look how the 8 and 10 GB played out for the 3070 and 3080.. Not good. Today I simply wouldnt buy any GPU with less than 16 GB minimum.

It takes < 1 year old games at 4K to begin encountering VRAM issues on the 4070. I think that's acceptable for a 104-250 chip, but asking $600 for it is just insulting.

@@danko8983 It is about the same as the 3080 10 GB except it has 12 GB of VRAM so it isn't really a low power version of it at all. It is just the lack of overclocking where it loses out and could be considered low power, but at least it has a TDP of just 200 Watts.

77 FPS "with Frame Gen" seems not enough. I have read you need at least 60-80 FPS "before" FG if you don't want this to ruin your game with fake images. FG looks cool for benchmark vs 3000 series or this is good for high refresh rate monitors but it can't change from not smooth to smooth without failures. I can understand that you are happy with your new GPU. But to be fair, the 4000 series is not good Price / Performance. The 4070 is pretty good with power-draw tho. Good point is... the 5000 series gonna be awesome compare to 4000 series xd.

6950xt/6900xt = the same or less price plus more perfomance, for 1440p and 16gb vram compare to 12gb in 4070 for example all new games in 1440 need 10-11 gb vram, and 12gb can be not enough
4080 is not worth it, 4070 is best value, then the 4070 ti has the best value, and after that is the 4080, but the price performance difference is too big, 4080 is not worth it at all for the amount of money it costs the 4070 is basically a 3080 cheaper and better
4070 is good enough. and save you a lot of power. You can run old games with 4K no problem. But it is not suggest to use this card to play new AAA games with 4K. If you just play 1440P, 4070 can handle easily and don't even need to turn on DLSS 3.0.

If you play at 1080p a 4070 is overkill. Like getting a 4080 to play at 1440p. As badly speced as a 4060 ti is, it will kill it at 1080p for less money. The 16gb version is still cheaper than a 4070. A 4070 is pretty much overall just beating a 3080 at 1080p and 1440p and is a 1440p card (that can play some titles fine at 4k). 3080 is faster at 4k though.

Hi, i also have a 4070 and i saw 98% usage while playing Cyberpunk in 1440p ultra, i was like that cant be good, but when i see your gpu usage in some games its also above 90%, so i geuss its normal?
As long as the GPU isn't hitting 100% usage and stuttering, then it is okay. As long as the temp levels are good, push it as far as it'll go without performance hits.

@@Blacktrous Doesnt get much harder on a card than Cyberpunk. Its not well optimised and has a lot of detail. Dont think much will be harder on your card than that for a while. Hogwarts will probably improve with updates, dont think Cyberpunk will.
Also just noticed, at 1440p in cyberpunk it never went past 8gb, so not near maxing out. You arent buying a 4070 to play cyberpunk at 4k. Its a 1440p card

You can make a 4k pc for way cheaper. Linus Tech Tips made a video about that, check out his video from about 5 months ago, it ahould have 500$ in the thumbnail.
Well, gtx 1060 performed way better in high end games that launched in 2016 without any upscaling technology.....Since 2020 nvidia is trashing their cards by adding those RT cores and tensor cores....in order to do ray tracing you have to turn on dlss or you can't play...Tensor core is not some kind of sophisticated thing, they are added for ray tracing. Cause ray tracing eats up your performance which is somehow backed up by tensor cores by upscaling image and nothing else. This increased their gpu price for 60% for same lineup...Actually who needs ray tracing and why dlss is needed anyway? Didn't we played without ray tracing and dlss in past years? Maximum people are paying for the features that they don't need at all... Nvidia should release 2 series of card that supports this features and others do not.... Like rtx 4070 for 600$ and gtx 4070 for 280$....

Who can help me? I have 3070/12400f, and monitor 1080p, in Dying Light 2 in ultra i have 90-99% usage and 50fps, in middle i have 60-70% gpu usage and 50fps, i cant play at 75fps like my monitor! And cpu 30-70 like in moment, something wrong

77 FPS "with Frame Gen" seems not enough. I have read you need at least 60-80 FPS "before" FG if you don't want this to ruin your game with fake images. FG looks cool for benchmark vs 3000 series or this is good for high refresh rate monitors but it can't change from not smooth to smooth without failures. I can understand that you are happy with your new GPU. But to be fair, the 4000 series is not good Price / Performance. The 4070 is pretty good with power-draw tho. Good point is... the 5000 series gonna be awesome compare to 4000 series xd.

Why not show the path tracing results in Cyberpunk ? You got any other video planned for that ?
Path Tracing need a lot more graphic power. so 4070 can not run that feature. FPS will go down to around 10~20 FPS.

Pathtracing is playable with DLSS3. But the VRAM becomes really a problem then.. 12 GB is just not enough..

Margins would be absolutely minimal bud, its just a generally good rule of thumb to keep OS different mainly for debugging and reinstalling windows

6950xt/6900xt = the same or less price plus more perfomance, for 1440p and 16gb vram compare to 12gb in 4070

4080 is not worth it, 4070 is best value, then the 4070 ti has the best value, and after that is the 4080, but the price performance difference is too big, 4080 is not worth it at all for the amount of money it costs
the 4070 is basically a 3080 cheaper and better
4070 is good enough. and save you a lot of power. You can run old games with 4K no problem. But it is not suggest to use this card to play new AAA games with 4K. If you just play 1440P, 4070 can handle easily and don't even need to turn on DLSS 3.0.

If you play at 1080p a 4070 is overkill. Like getting a 4080 to play at 1440p. As badly speced as a 4060 ti is, it will kill it at 1080p for less money. The 16gb version is still cheaper than a 4070. A 4070 is pretty much overall just beating a 3080 at 1080p and 1440p and is a 1440p card (that can play some titles fine at 4k). 3080 is faster at 4k though.

As long as the GPU isn't hitting 100% usage and stuttering, then it is okay. As long as the temp levels are good, push it as far as it'll go without performance hits.

Because ray tracing is very demanding in vram. 12Go is still enough for 1440p gaming, unless the game is poorly optimise like Hogward legacy.
@@Blacktrous Doesnt get much harder on a card than Cyberpunk. Its not well optimised and has a lot of detail. Dont think much will be harder on your card than that for a while. Hogwarts will probably improve with updates, dont think Cyberpunk will.
Also just noticed, at 1440p in cyberpunk it never went past 8gb, so not near maxing out. You arent buying a 4070 to play cyberpunk at 4k. Its a 1440p card

Well, gtx 1060 performed way better in high end games that launched in 2016 without any upscaling technology.....Since 2020 nvidia is trashing their cards by adding those RT cores and tensor cores....in order to do ray tracing you have to turn on dlss or you can't play...Tensor core is not some kind of sophisticated thing, they are added for ray tracing. Cause ray tracing eats up your performance which is somehow backed up by tensor cores by upscaling image and nothing else. This increased their gpu price for 60% for same lineup...Actually who needs ray tracing and why dlss is needed anyway?
Didn't we played without ray tracing and dlss in past years? Maximum people are paying for the features that they don't need at all...
Nvidia should release 2 series of card that supports this features and others do not....
