Irocs with time appropriate accessories are absolutely gorgeous! If money weren't an issue I'd buy a couple of them and learn how to properly work on cars.
The reason the base model camaro and firebirds with the 305s were so weak was because chevy made them weak. The air flow was extremely restrictive stock. Let that badass motor breathe and stand back. You can hit 250hp easy by just getting a flat based 2" air filter with a spacer, headers, and cat delete, plus flowmaster 80 series. And adjust the timing by rotating distributor cap to about 3 degrees(positive). Chevy put the timing in the negatives a lot of the time to cut down on emissions and guzzling gas.

It's a hell of a lot faster than the stock 305. The next car I do will be ls based though, for the money I have in the 350 I could have fuel injection and more power with an ls.
Man I can’t wait to get my 85 finished. 85 sport coupe that started life with a multi port 6. 355 medium cam, Eagle bottom end, Ported heads and intake, Edelbrock 650, and I haven’t decided on exhaust yet. Probably just a 40s series Flowmaster since I went old school on the build. Have a procharged 94 Z28 and a 15 SS mostly stock. 94 is barely the fastest out of all. Thanks for the video
Why GM put the shitty weak as hell 305s in these cars I'll never know!!!! Built a beautiful car such as this and give it the performance of a pinto!!!! I have a 1987 Trans Am she has a real engine a 550 horse 406 stroker!!!! I think its sad to have to brake torque a car to get it to do a wimpy burn out I can roll onto the throttle at 30 MPH and fry the tires on demand!!!! If I was at this show I would show these guys what a real burnout is all about no holding the brake no having to stop to get started!!!!

Hp-wise they are weak per todays standard. The TPI's are are feisty machines with plenty torque. I have a 305Tpi 5spd and 3.42 rear in mine, and I feel it has enough power. On the other hand I live in a country with large mountains and narrow roads, which makes the whole sensation of speed different than a flat open and straight road with not much of a landscape. It's good for eating turns, and handles pretty damned good! If I were to do something it'd be to beef up the transmission and make her breathe abit easier.

@@gearheadAbe my car was a 92 RS Heritage Edition but to my surprise had a 3.08 open diff, huge disappointment lol, now I'm running a 3.73 Moser 12Bolt with TrueTrac LSD. I ran the stock engine with this setup for about a year but since I had sticky autocross tires I still couldn't manage a burnout lol so now NightmareZL1 features a LSA with TR6060 pull out from 2012 ZL1 once my first set of tires are done I'm gonna shred them!
Where is this at I would love to go plus if you have a 302 ford pony I'd love to blow your doors off with this 305 I'm running in the 86 z28 I haven't seen a stock 5.0 mustang yet that could take it
Wow, this car show did these cars no justice. They all look horrible, especially the maro with the ws6 hood. Stock 5.0s were so much better to drive I had a formula 350 back in the day, got a fox body and never looked back.
umm10years old do you not see my profile pic? clearly im 16 and i own and drive an 86 s10 long bed (7ft) with 3in body lft and4in shock with a V8 conversion (Chevy small block 305) with a Holley 4150-650cfm carb, Edelbrock high performance intake, and it has about 11:1 compression, what your lil fox body got?
none of these guys did actual manly burnouts. burnouts need to be at least 5seconds. my dad had an 87 firebird with a 350 sbc and he would roast them for 30seconds a burnout
