Thank goodness for emergency doctors and staff! Not everyone can do this type of work, you have nightmares sometimes after seeing the condition of the patient. When your pupils are fixed and dialitated its a sign of major brain injury and not many live when this is present, especially since this person was post accident for 2 plus hours. Truly a sad case.

It’s really horrific what these people go through. We went to aprogram at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in high school, known as the P.A.R.T.Y program. And it basically showed us what theses patients go through and the three different stages from the crash it’s self, ER and then recovery/ trauma ward In many cases they said that many wish for death...really shows how life can change so quickly. From walking one day to be completely paralysed from the waist down the next.
Theses Drs and nurses and hospital stuff honestly just amazing we’d be lost without them

The thing is that you need to stabilise the patient tension and, heart and respiratory rate before doing CT scan, if you don’t do that the patient will die on the Scan table, but once you arrive at the that point with multiple locations of internal bleeding, doctors know it’s already too late… they will try their best but everyone know the outcome

I'm in no way an expert and mean absolutely no disrespect, but I don't understand why a doctor just stands there like a puppet master...
Is it just to help the Dr maintain a clear head?
I'm sure it would be hard for them and I'm certain no doctors expected their career to take that direction.
Again, no disrespect intended... I just don't understand the reasoning behind it

    • @w2ttsy670

This is what’s called team based trauma assessment.
A physician is nominated team leader and other physicians are given specific roles as part of the trauma case.
The team leader directs the overall case as each specialist performs a different part of the assessment and reports in their findings and agree on treatment plans.
It’s the most optimal approach as it allows focused responses to a patient with multiple injuries and ensures that communication and decision making is open and bi directional.
You may notice that each member of the team has a sticker on their gown that indicates their responsibility during the trauma. This helps keep order, reduce confusion of responsibility, and allows for clear delegation and communication.
