- During my recent visit in Bangladesh I took a trip to my ancestor's home in Valukshi, Barisal. It was a day long short trip. I was overwhelmed with the affection and love shown by my relatives. On the way back from Valukshi, I went to Tarki, Gouronadi (to buy sweets) and also visited my relatives at Maradipur. Everyone was surprised to see me after 32 years. I also felt connected to my roots.

আমার মা বাবা দুজনে ই বরিশাল এর অনেক দিন আগে ভারত এ চলে এসেছে কিন্তু আজও আমরা বরিশালের গল্প শুনি , তারা আজও ছাড়তে পারেনি পুরোনো সময় পুরোনো দিন। আমি বিয়াল্লিশ বছর আগে গেছি বরিশাল এ।অনেক আতিথেয়তা পেয়েছি যা আজও মনে পড়ে।খুব ইচ্ছে যাবার।আপনার এই video টা দেখে সেই ইচ্ছে টা আরও বেড়ে গেল। ধন্যবাদ আপনাকে।

My grandparents came to India from Barishal during partition in 1947. I was born and raised in India and now live in Dallas, Texas. Here I have some very good friends from Bangladesh. They always ask me to visit Bangladesh to set a foot on my ancestors' place at least once in a lifetime. One-day I'll definitely visit this beautiful land. Thanks to the uploader for such a beautiful video. :)

আমি একজন ভারতীয়। বাড়ি কুচবিহার। কিন্তু আমার মা বাবার জন্ম ঢাকায়। ঠাকুমা এখনো বেচে আছেন। ছোটোবেলা থেকেই তাদের মুখে বাংলাদেশ এর অনেক কথা শুনে আসছি। ইলিশ মাছ, নৌকা করে যাতায়াত, মানুষের আন্তরিকতা, সর্বপরি গ্রাম্য প্রকৃতি। এইসব শুনে শুনে আমি আমার কল্পনার রাজ্যে এক বাংলাদেশ দেখতে পেতাম; এখনও পাই। আপনার এই ভিডিওটা আমার সেই কল্পলোকের সাথে একেবারে মিলে গেছে। আপনাকে এর জন্য অনেক অনেক ধন্যবাদ।জানি না কখনো যেতে পারবো কি না? কিন্তু যাওয়ার ইচ্ছে আছে খুব। তাছাড়া আমি বাংলা সাহিত্য নিয়ে গবেষণা করছি। সেখানে পশ্চিম বাংলার থেকে পুর্ববাংলার কথাই বেশি দেখতে পাই। সেখানকার পথ ঘাট চোখের সামনে ভেসে ওঠে। আমার জীবনের সবচেয়ে বড় স্বপ্ন বাংলাদেশকে খুব কাছ থেকে দেখা। বিশেষ করে বরিশাল,ফরিদপুর,পাবনা,বগুড়া,নোয়াখালি প্রভৃতি জায়গাগুলোকে।

ভাই ওসব এলাকা ছাড়াও রাজশাহী, রংপুর, মুন্সিগঞ্জ-বিক্রমপুর, চট্টগ্রাম, কক্সবাজার, বৃহত্তর ময়মনসিংহ অঞ্চল, বৃহত্তর সিলেট অঞ্চল , খুলনা, পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রাম, টাঙ্গাইল, কুষ্টিয়া, বৃহত্তর কুমিল্লা এসবেও ঘুরে যাবেন।বাংলার প্রাচীন সবকিছু এসবে খুঁজে পাবেন।

ভাইয়া আমি বরিশাল উজিরপুরের মেয়ে।এই গানটা আমার অনেক পছন্দের। ঢাকা থেকে যখন বারি জাই তখন মোনে মোনে এই গানটা বলতে থাকি।গ্রামের আলো বাতাস,মাটির গনধ,ধান খেত থেকে ভেসে আসা ধানের গন্ধ,পাখির কলকাকলি,আকাবাকা মেঠোপথ প্রান জুরিয়ে যায়।অনেক কিছু বলার ছিল
I don't understand the language but pretty sure about the importance of the video conveyed the message fantastic! I really loved "GREEN" and simple life of the people and their genuine affection and love towards the visitors. I do not surprise this video nothing strange or new to me , being an Indian it's typical Indian village life . Any how both these Bangladesh and Indian people belonged to the same mother just before 1947. Still same brotherhood continue forever. We wish both India and Bangladesh live healthy and happily for ever.

I have heard lot of story of our native village near narayangang. Now I am 63 years old this video has given some nostalgic memories.
My grandmother is from Barisal and I have grown up listening to her childhood tales. I remember I would often nag her for "desher barir golpo" over lunch after coming from school. Those were my best days with my grandmother. She is over 95 years now and has forgotten almost everything because of dementia... I love my grandmother very much and maybe that's why I have a strong urge to see Barisal.
+Tulika Karmakar You grandma kind of reminded me of my grandpa, who used to tell stories about his life, back in Barisal, he passed away a few years back and I dearly miss his stories. I came here to relive those memories and wanna visit it soon, probably after my Med school is over.

@@indrajitsanyal9156 আপনি কি বাংলাদেশ হেটার? ১৯৭১ পাকিস্তানীরা এই দেশে হত্যাযজ্ঞ চালিয়েছে, সেটা ছিলো জাতিগত নিধন। মুসলমান কতৃক হিন্দু স্লটার নয়। যেখানে ৩০ লক্ষ বাংলাদেশী জীবন দিয়েছে। তো বাংলাদেশীদের মধ্যে তো তখনকার জনসংখ্যার রেট অনুযায়ীও ৮০% মুসলমান ছিলো।
আর উনারা যারা বাংলাদেশ ছেড়েছেন- তার অন্যতম কারন ছিলো একটু ভালো থাকার জন্য। তখনকার বাংলাদেশে দুর্ভিক্ষ ছিলো একটা স্বাভাবিক ঘটনা। শত শত সংকট ছিলো আমাদের। যাই হোক- একজন হেটারকে বুঝিয়ে সময় নষ্ট করবো না।

@@tokresali খারাপ কথা কেন বলে সেটা আমার জানা নেই। আসল কথা বাংলাদেশ কেন, সেটা যে কোনো দেশ হতে পারে। মূল কথা আমি গ্ৰাম্য পরিবেশ খুবই পছন্দ করি। তাছাড়া ইতিহাসের পাতায় বহু বীর বাঙালি বিপ্লবীদের জন্ম কিন্তু এই পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ও বাংলাদেশে। ওনাদের জন্মস্থান ও কার্যকলাপের স্থান গুলো পরিদর্শন করা আমার কাছে খুবই সৌভাগ্যের ব্যাপার। আর তাছাড়া বাংলাদেশে কাজের সূত্রে কিছু স্থান পরিদর্শন করেছিলেন, এবং তার বিবরণ গুলো আমার কাছে খুবই ভালো লাগার একটা ব্যাপার ছিল। যদি আপনাদের দেশে যেতে পারি তাহলে কিছু বন্ধু-বান্ধবীদের সাথে দেখা করা হয়তো সম্ভবপর হবে। আমাদের পশ্চিমবঙ্গেও বহু ঐতিহাসিক স্থান কাজের সূত্রে হোক বা আর্থিক পরিস্থিতির কারণেই হোক পরিদর্শন করা সম্ভব হয়নি। সুতরাং আমার এই ভলো লাগাটাই একমাত্র কারণ মনে করতে পারেন। আর অভ্যর্থনা জানানোর জন্য ধন্যবাদ।

Nice video. I’m from Barisal. But rarely get to visit there anymore. Water everywhere around you look, and I’m not even a good swimmer. There is a lot to see and hear and love about Barisal. Motivates me to go visit again sometime.

i am an Indian, i was born in Bangladesh(khulna). when I watched your video I was chocked with emotions. My maternal Grandfather was a muktijoddha. In '83 he along with his wife, 8 children and 2 grandchildren and son-in-law had to flee the country and take shelter in India as refugees. My grandfather was a morol(affluent n respected in the community) but his family's and his life was in threat due to 1 reason. His religion. He was a hindu. He dies a pauper in India. I m 42. was just 3 yrs when all of this happened. I cried due to the emotion that was pent up within me after watching your video. But the truth remains. Islam is a curse to humankind period.
I was looking up Salman Khan of Khan Academy and discovered his father was from Barisal, and hence stumbled onto your video when I started curiously looking at videos of Barisal.
