One of the best and honest regular people car reviews. I had 1998 Freelander then my girl got the 2007, very similar specs. Gonna get one of these I just love the stance and the ride.
Brilliant video Craig , I’ve just bought one of these it’s coming to the north east for me tomorrow . Your video has helped me out a lot as I’ve never bought a RR before especially with all the controls very helpful , thanks Craig
Go get one 😁 awesome cars and still look great even though the newer shape is out. I always said I'd buy another but wrap it this time a different colour
Without being nosey how much you got to spend and I'll try thinking of some good choices for you. Also what other cars are you currently looking at? Range Rover is a good call but something else might suite you better
My Dad has the exact same car but in silver, he had a problem with the ECU for about a year so whenever he floored it the car would stall for about 10 seconds. Only recently did he get it sorted and its working a treat again. The 2005-2013 Range Rover Sport is only of my favourite cars and I am considering buying a 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 when I have the money. It’s a great car. 👍🏼
Was the issue an injector fault? Sounds like the ECU was putting the car into Limp mode. I still love this shape, seems everybody else does as well by the views and likes it's had. I'd recommend getting the face lift, it's got a nicer interior and fancy front lights. I did this video so long ago now, had a few cars since then if you have a look through my videos, more than likely something else you'll like I've had 😁
Diesel Range Rovers don’t feel slow at all, they aren’t exactly light so they handle and tilt like a boat on heavy water, because of their weight the body roll is insane which makes you feel alot faster than you actually are. I was hoping the new Defender would bring back the boxy body style, it does to some extent but it has the newer sleeker headlights along with the boxy front bumper which just doesn’t work.
Nice, I have a 2008 Discovery 3 SE 4.4 V8 turned it into more of a sport SUV I added a Disco 4 grill and foglights bezels HID foglights OEM rear hatch spoiler K&N drop in air filter Stoptech stainless steel brake hoses with Stoptech cross drilled and slotted rotors front and rear and finished it with a SuperSprint catback exhaust system. There's more but to much to list. Will make a video one day and put on TH-cam. Cheers 🇬🇧 🍻
Is the 4.4 the NA or Supercharged one? My friend had the SC version, man was it thirsty on fuel 😄 Sounds like you've done loads to yours! Guessing your keeping it for a long time! I only owned this for a year, I don't keep cars very long, bought a Merc E class after this, which is also on the channel. I always said I'd get the newer shape Rangie but never did
I still think they look good all these years later, mind I do prefer the newer shape but that's the same with any car, new always looks better 😄 Which engine you gone for 2.7, 3.0 or 3.6?
@@bm7760 Just had a quick look online seems the tax on the 2.7 what I had is £360 I'm sure that's £100 more than when I had it, then anything on a 06 reg or above £630. That's a hell of a lot of money for tax
really nice car craig. always see it out and about around my area. been waiting ages for you to do a review on your range rover and it looks in amazing condition like
+Caillin Greer Hey man, hows it going? Yeah I'm always out and about, I absolutely hate putting fuel in the dam thing. It's in ok condition, black is a really tough color to look after and with it being so big! My friends going to give it a quick machine polish before I sell it, so the odd scuffs are gone
I try to cover as much as I can lol. I think I probably show 99% of the things but probably do miss a few things. I know my last car video the 206 GTi 180 I missed a few things when I was editing the video
I like that, nice condition. I would think the DSC button is Dynamic Stability Control, you can turn it off to make the car more sporty but on a Range Rover probably best to leave it on. Good engine choice too. I live in the South West so you see loads of 4X4's, Range Rovers are very popular and the Sport one especially, it's smaller then the new standard Range Rover too. You also see loads of the Evoque around, not sure if it's a bit of a hairdressers car that one though.
That DSC button I've never even been tempted to press and I've had the car 6-7months now lol. I really like the Evoques, they look nice and fresh. But 4x4's are becoming a lot more common, my shape is just heavy and bad on fuel, the newer shape get more than double the MPG
Craig's Video Channel give it a few years and the new ones will depreciate like mad, the other day I was looking at loads of 2013 range rover vogue's (all new face lift models) and they're now selling for about 45k .... only 5 years ago they were bought for 80k! So give it a few years to buy a bargain and you'll get alot of car for your money!
Malcolm Kennedy Same with most cars these days depreciating like mad. Loads of my old cars like Escort RS Turbo Renault 5 GT Turbo have gone up in value over the past few years by loads. I'm on the hunt for a van now for my valeting business, last car I had is on my channel its a little 206 GTi one before that was the new Focus RS, love cars I do lol
Check the air suspension works. Make sure both parts of the tail/boot open as it splits into to, all the electric windows and all the doors lock and open. Make sure you get two keys as they are really expensive. Take it for a good drive listen for knocks and bangs
Definate my next car , had a couple of bmw's had the a4 convertible , scirocco etc been looking at these, want to get the 05 model for cheaper tax , good video 👍🏻
Sounds like you have a good choice in cars Thomas. I've had a Sicorroc as well, absolutely loved it, you'll find it on here on my channel candy white GT TDi. 05 or 55 you'll get into the cheaper tax, a couple of 06's as well but there very rare. I tax big tax, I've been looking for an e92 m3 or c63 and there in the £505 tax bracket
Craig's Video Channel My misses loved the scirrocco , at the time i was the only one around my way that had it . I had the white one as well , we sprayed the wheels black and I put the bright blue led sidelights in , looked awesome . My mate just got rid of a c63 , he had it from brand new , had to wait months for it to be made , he actually waited 6/8 months for it ,he only had it for a year but what a super car , mental noise on it . He's got a 335d estate now , that's a weapon ! How long did you have the Range Rover for ? And would you advise some one to Go for it ?
Thomas Jones Yeah mine had the black wheels, soon as I got it I had plans. Sprayed the mirrors black myself and got the wheels done gloss black, nobody had one round my way either when I had it. Sold it really cheap, no wonder the guy snapped my hand off lol. I had the RR for about a year, I don't tend to keep my cars long. Soon as I bought it I knew the front end was knocking, I texted the person I bought it from but they ignored me, they must of knew it was a £1000+ job to sort, luckily I have friends in the trade and got it done for around £350-£400 I think it was. You want to check the air suspension works and all the other electrics. Check the manual works on the box as not many people use it and can fail. All tyres make sure they have plenty tread as there not cheap at all. I didn't realise but the inside wall on my rear tyre was ripped, it failed the MOT for that, due to the weight they are and people buying cheap tyres.
+Sausage Thanks man, yeah it was is really good condition. To be honest all my cars are lol, I'm really picky when I buy a car. You'll probably like my other car videos Audi s3, VW Scirocco there on my channel
For a first car I'd buy something a a little smaller and cheaper to run. Is there no other cars you like? I've had loads of cars over the years so happy to help if you need advice on any
I like the brand new X5 that was on The Grand Tour, X6 are lovely as well. My latest video if you have a look sounds better than any 4x4 but doesn't look as good lol
You enjoying the car? I sold this a year ago now, bought an E-class Merc you'll see I made a video on that on my channel. I must have forgot to mention the mirror folding, I used to use that feature when going down tight alleys lol
PIXYBASHER Anytime :-) it was an awesome car, always nice to be high up on the road, since then I've had a few differenr cars last onw being the Focus RS that's on my channel if your interested
@@gavinmackenzie787 Its a tough one! Some have zero issues and others are riddled with them. The TDv8 having two turbos I've read they tend to go, is the TDv6 no good?
@@Keepingitrespectfulmostly. Most manufacturers these days don't give you one, they put a tube of them slime stuff in your boot so you can fill your tyre with it, thing they dont tell you is you can't repair the tyre once you've used that nasty stuff
@@CraigsChannel Yes and my tin of slim was 4 years out of date. Luckily I got a spare wheel and tyre off of eBay and I got a puncture outside where I live or I made it back home after only driving locally and got a puncture at car park. The only problem is the wheels are not an exact match but it is good to know a proper spare is there. I believe that a spare wheel and tyre is a necessity not an accessory.. :0)
@@Keepingitrespectfulmostly. Yeah a spare wheel always comes in handy, touch wood in about 16 years I think I've only had to use a spare once. I've had quite a few cars over the years. My current car didnt have a spare so did the same as you, but bought one on Gumtree for £20
hi could you tell me each model has brembo brakes? interested me 2.7 from 2006 but my friend told me MUST HAVE BREMBO BRAKES because is a heavy car ,brembo pack is much stiffer and prevents rolling of the car,but I did't see with brembo brakes. please answer thanks
+rapidiot Mines a 2005 and didn't have the brembo's the brakes were find though I never had any issues, they are heavy cars but my standard breaks stopped me fine. My friends have the brembo 4pots on theres, they look cool but I thought they were an optional extra
PIXYBASHER Sport HSE? Make sure it is a HSE friend of mine bought one and it was an S with badges lol. You going for a 2.7 or 3.6? Make sure the air suspension works, no knocking from the bottom arms on the front end and make sure both belts have been changed
PIXYBASHER Just be careful as these cars do tend to break. Ask for a 12 month warranty. What reg and miles is it? Id love the new model but didn't want to pay £50k second hand lol
I sold it around 5 and a half years ago I think it would be. Was an amazing car, people told me to never buy one as they always break, but touch wood the only issue I had was bottom arms but they were knackered when I bought the car, think it cost me £300-350 fix that. Mpg was really good considering how big the thing was, driving was really nice, so comfortable but I think that's down to the air suspension. If you check the channel I've had quite a few cars since then
Hi Thomas, do you still have the Range? I would like to get either a Discovery , either a Range Sport but there are a lot of complaints and i'm afraid it will end up being a headache. Any advises? I really like the size & shape of this car, most of the SUV today have these rounded shapes which take off from the interior space. I would love to get one, i just have a bit of concern i guess and I was hoping to get more insights from actual owners. Much appreciated!
Hi Buddy, does this Range Rover have Bluetooth Connectivity for music to play through speakers or is it just for calls? Also does it have an aux cable?
It's just calls only no music as it's an older car now 14 years old back then Bluetooth music wasn't popular like today. You can buy cigarette lighter transmitters what you connect your phone to then tune in the radio. Yeah Aux is in the back next to the heated seats
Great review very detailed Im buying one of these soon and wanted to know more in depth what to check for when buying and this was very helpful nice one bruv, got a query tho how low does the A/suspension drop Can you get that nice low riding look?
S P R I N G Y You can lower the suspension but as soon as you go over 5 or 10mph it'll warn then go back to level. You can how ever buy these tiny little lower hooks, there small and I mean small but a couple of hundred pound, they'll keep the car down without bringing it back up
king Janjua Hope you enjoy the car, I know I did when I owned mine, I always said I'll have another but it would be the 2014 Sport model but they're still rather pricey lol
That's a tricky one! I like them both 😂 people seem to think the Evoque is a poor man's Range Rover or a girls car but I really like them, if you get one buy a horrible colour and wrap it 😎
Thanks mate, you'd probably like my last one better the Merc, if you click my name it should be the main video on my channel I think. Every time I get a new car I bang a video up
+Mr.Craig's Video Channel Yeah I did see it, more my style. Drive an old W220 S-Class myself, it's on its last legs but such a a gorgeous drive I can't get rid of it!
MGB 72UK Sorry for such a late reply, i've had so many messages to get threw taken me a couple of days lol. Yeah Merc's are awesome cars, its the first one I've owned I'm normally a VW or Audi man, but loved the car. They don't make em like they used to!
MGB 72UK First day I bought it I noticed the bottom arms were knocking, I texted the person I bought it from but they ignored me! So I got them done. Then the reversing parking speaker went on me £24 for a new on off eBay, apart from that it was a lovely car
+cerrystyle I've just replied to your other message, if I seen this one I'd of done a 2 in 1 lol. Yeah it's not a green car, I was using £20 a day in it... But I enjoyed the drive there lovely and comfortable, the only thing is the ride isn't as good on the 22" as it would be on the standard 19" this one didn't have much power 188bhp but bags of torque
@@medianikophotography when I owned it I was getting pretty good mpg for such a big car. I'm sure something like 35mpg on a run. So what ever a gallon is now just say £6.40 = 35miles, £20 would be around 110 maybe
Hi Craig am just from Hexham and looking at getting a sport tdv8. Just wondering if you could tell me how much yours generally cost a year to maintain e.g. repairs and general maintenance things (excluding insurance, fuel etc). And possibly some things too look our for when buying. any help much appreciated
The tdv8 is the twin turbo so if either go that's going to be the biggest job as people say you need to sesperate the chassis from the body, how true I don't know but I've seen plenty picks. I had mine a little over a year and when I first bought it the bottom arms were shot, so bought some new and a friend fitted, along with Hunter 4wd alignment which worked out about £400. Service is the same for any car you'll just need a bit more oil in this. I could easily service it myself. Air suspension is a thing to check as the compressors and bags can split. I had mine a year only thing that broke was the rear parking sensor speaker £24 on ebay and sorted. Fuel wise I thought it was good, much better than other cars I've owned. If you check my channel I've had a few thritsy cars lol
Lelantos Soon as I bought it I knew the front bottom arms were broke, I texted the seller the same night I bought it with no reply! I was a little annoyed but my own fault not driving it before I bought it, lesson learnt lol. From a Specialist it was £1000 but I got my friend to do it for £350. The rear parking sensor spesker broke, Land Rover wanted £300, I bought the part on eBay for £20 and fitted it myself. apart from that I had zero problems, just make sure its been looked after and both belts have been changed if its high mileaged
Is that around 120,000 miles? As long as an engine has been serviced and maintained it could go until 500,000 When you get over 100,000 it's normally wear and tear on cars what happens, same with any car really. This things to watch on Range Rovers are air suspension and electric issues
Hello, do you think it would be good "first" car for me? Im struggling about to buy it because I don´t know personaly nobody who own it or owned it. It will be a problem for this car to travel only for small distances? Like 10 - 30 kilometres per day? And what about servicing? Im from central Europe and those cars starts here on 12.000$. Please reply. Thank you. Have a nice day :)
poison3x No its not a good first car, they're to big for a beginner. just buy something small, then earn a few years no claims bonus. Fuel these cars are bad, servicing isn't to bad. What about an Audi A4 or Bmw 3 series?
Thank you :) Yes, I was thinking about Audi A4 or BMW 3 too, but I don´t know which engine or version of those. But I got one wish, it should be automatic gearbox :) And what you think about Mercedes-Benz C-Class?
Yeah, pull from the corner either one first, you'll feel it pull up a little and then start popping the clips off. I did the vents on the side of the wings as well but they were much tougher to remove, you've got to use quite a bit of force to tug them out. The grill is easy to remove, press the tabs down on the top and pull it forward
No problem at all, happy to always help anybody who pops on my channel 👍 Few of my subscribers have been asking when I'm getting a new car video up but everything I've been looking at the prices are just insane
+Nutguy95 Thanks man, m3 is the only car I've really looked for, I was wanting a green Focus RS but there far to easy to pinch. Plasti dip is really easy to use, as long as you make sure what ever your cleaning is 100% clean and dry you'll be fine
+Mr.Craig's Video Channel Ahh sweet, there's a couple little things I want to plastidip on my bmw e90 325i, I'll give it a go at the weekend. If it ends up looking shit i'll be back here commenting for a tutorial ahah seeing as you get a nice finish on your cars & you're pretty thorough with your videos
Nutguy95 Where you from? If your from the UK I use a site called matt-pack for my paints, you'll just be using cans if your only wanting little jobs. I ended up buying the compressor and everything as I've done a few cars now. Just do your first couple of coats light, then make the other 3-4 wet looking, but not to wet for them to run.
+Mr.Craig's Video Channel yeah im from the UK ill have a look at the site in a minute, and they are only little jobs, got a couple of trim pieces and the chrome grill
Sorry for the late reply. Depending on the problems and how cheap you get the car it could make money but could bite you in the arse with faults, they can cost a lot of money if they go wrong and do tend to brake. Luckily mine didn't cost me much in the 12 months of ownership but other friends who've had them have spent ££££'s
Hey Mate! I am looking to purchase a similar model, I've heard they have not so good reliability, what problems..if any, did you run into; and what was the fix costs for those problems. Thanks!
Kody Barnett I owned it for nearly a year, soon as I drove it I knew the bottom arms were knackered cost me £380 I think for 2 new ones, fitting and 4 wheels alignment through my mates. The local Range Rover Specialists quoted me £1000, bottom arms are just wear and tear. Common faults are the air suspension so make sure that works. Drive really slow in all gears and flick over to manual to make sure that works. These have two belts so make sure they've been changed. The only thing that broke was a rear parking sensor speaker, cost me £22 on eBay and fitted it myself. No sure if your after the 2.7 TDv6 or the 3.6 TDv8 but they're both terrible on fuel lol
Get warranty! 2.7 TDV6 has some oil pump issues! At around 100k miles change it, or your engine will die. 3.6 TDV8 has some Turbo issues. BTW Craig, DSC = Dynamic Stability Controll. Torque converter and gearbox oil must be changed at 100k miles!
+lee m Lol yeah I think that's what people used to always think gangster or drug dealer haha. That many people have them now though there just a normal car on the road... Its not until you own a car you notice how many other people have the same one. When I had my VW Scirocco hardly anybody had one, then a few months down the line I seen them all over the place.
@@CraigsChannel Thank you too😊! Land Rovers are my dream cars! I had Freelander td4 and i am planing to buy one this beautis .In my country( Montenegro) registration for v8 engines is very expensive and v6 is my only option🙄😂Thanks for your video it is very usefull
Mine had the Sat Nav mate, the TV featute was an optional extra like the fridge was so who ever bought mine new didn't go for them. What reg is yours? I sold this car almost 3 years ago, had a few cars since then E Class Merc, New Focus RS and a little old school 206 GTi lol. I'd love a new shape on say a 64 plate.
+18T220 Hey man long time! I only wanted a 4x4 as I'd never had one before, I'd have one again but can't afford the new shape Range Rover as there £80,000 for the ones I like. Yeah I loved the Scirocco, was tempted on a Scirocco R as they've come down loads in value over the past year. I'm looking to get an e92 m3 next, see how that plans out.
The tank wasn't very big in this at all, strange with it being such a big car. Fuel is rubbish on these and even worse on the 3.8 TDV8 version. If it's fuel economy it's not the car for you lol
+LoveAudiA41998 I was going to record my friend explaining the car and stuff, I hate being on camera lol. He's clueless with cars but I could always write him a script haha
Its a spray paint that you're able to peel off when ever you want. You car spray small parts or full cars. Ive done a few full cars with it and small bits like grills and badges. Plasti dip
No AUX is just an old audio port, it's really old school now and the quality's pretty shit. You'd be best off buying a one of them Fm transmitter you plug in the cigarette lighter socket, it links to your phones Bluetooth then you turn the radio to say 77.7fm to listen
I'd say so, you can pick them up from Amazon for a tenna, try one if it's crap send it back. AUX is super old now, you can connect your phone to the head unit but it's just for calls
Touch wood mine only had an issue with the rear parking sensor speaker, cost me £22 on eBay and fitted it myself. When I first bought the car the bottoms arms were both knocking so got them replaced, they're a common fault. Make sure the air suspension works as should. Make sure the car goes into all gears with no judders as that could be a torn torque convertor doughnut
Thanks buddy. Im just really weary about buying it to be honest. Heard so many nightmares.. ita on 05 plate done 86000 miles loads of history apparently.. thanks for the advice
You'll always get negative people saying they'll break blah blah... Just make sure its been serviced and had the belts changed. I loved mine, wished I wrapped it white though. I've had quite a few different cars since the Rangie and still always look back, if you hit subscribe and have a look through my other car videos the Rangie might change you mind
oh dear lol, maybe not for me then. I liked the S3 you had but I'm a fan of auto's and would probably go for the s tronic version. There's just too much choice out there, I've looked at everything from RangeRover sports to Audi TT's :-)
+Richard Ayres To be honest man if your worried about fuel, I wouldn't be looking for any kind of car like this or s3's lol. What about a VW Scirocco GT TDi? There's a video of my old one on here, that was amazing on fuel and DSG gearbox, absolutely lovely cars to drive and looking. The car I'm after next is an e92 m3 and they are even worse on the fuel than my Range Rover, but you only live once!
+Mr.Craig's Video Channel I'm not after something super great on fuel. I've got a 3.2 Chrysler Crossfire at the moment. I don't want anything worse than that really. I've had some gas guzzlers in the past 350z Audi A8 Subaru's but there comes a time when you get a bit fed up with paying out so much on fuel. Btw I liked the way you pointed out the dirty smoker in your s3 video lol
+Richard Ayres I've never seen a Crossfire in ages, I remember my ex's dad had one and tried racing me in my WRX lol, bad idea. 350z are terrible on fuel, my friend had one for a while and went for a 335d after, another awesome car. Yeah fuel does piss you off, I'd hate to image how much I've wasted over the years. Smokers are no good, I tell my friends off who smoke for smoking in there own car lol
+Mr.Craig's Video Channel I Can't stand people who smoke in their cars, I work in a bodyshop and can tell as soon as I open a car door if it's been smoked in. Some people don't appreciate having a nice motor.
+Richard Ayres I just hate smoking in general, but I don't hate people for having a habit... If it keep them happy all the best to them, I've just never been a fan of the smell of idea of wasting my money on smoke lol. I do the odd bit spraying but use plasti dip, I've done a few cars in the past but now it's mainly small things like grills etc
+Richard Ayres There not really cars you get good mpg from Richard. I took it on a proper run yesterday 100miles and averaged around 30mpg when I filled up again. I pay no attention to the trip computer I think that said 26.4
It's got Aux for audio which is located in the rear where the back heated seats are. Bluetooth is only for answering phone calls not playing music like modern cars. The 2008 should have USB somewhere
Check the bottom arms. Try the gearbox in manual and slowly pull off make sure no judder. Test the air suspension is working. And both parts of the boot hatch open
You need to get facelift grill, facelift tail lights and halos put in the front and it would look really nice my dad was looking into buying one of these but a few years newer but then ended up buying a BMW e70 but now he is considering buying a facelift version of this

Yeah there still lovely looking cars. I wouldn't believe all you hear, I had mine a little over a year and the only issue was a parking sensor speaker cost me something like £22 on eBay. When I first bought it the bottom arms were knackered that cost around £400 but was just wear and tear. The lad who bought mine in 2015 still has it and he's put boat loads of miles on lol
Nope, same with the Audi headunit I had in my old s3 that wouldn't play DVD's. To be honest I've had cars that do play DVD's and never use that feature
Quiet a few cars you pop the bonnet from that side now. I'm a detailer so used to it lol, I did a Ford Transit Custom yesterday and that was on your left hand side. As long as it pops I'm happy haha
@@CraigsChannel I only say this because I’m in the states. I have an ‘06 HSE (non supercharged) , and mine is right in the drivers footwell. Usually US spec euro vehicles suffer from features that you guys get. This is the only exception I’ve seen. Yours is a lovely spec. I love the black on black.
@@bobsmithinson2050 What engine is yours? My friend owned the 4.2 SC model last year and had nothing but issues. Mine I owned for maybes a year and didn't have an issues apart from the rear parking sensor speaker which was a £22 fix as its located in the boot/trunk on the left hand side. When I bought it my first idea was black on black thats where Plasti dip came in 😁
@@CraigsChannel mine is the 4.4 NA V8 (petrol/gasoline) I’ve had no issues at all with it over the near year I’ve owned it. I pulled the fuse to the PDC as it was beyond annoying to me (mine had a sensor fault) and I was tired of having to hit the button every time I started the engine (would beep uncontrollably even when not near anything). Other than a faulty coolant tank (sensor was saying coolant low when it wasn’t) and a non working passenger window (drivers for you) that I traced to a common fault in the wiring under the carpet by the seat, it’s been an amazing vehicle. I’m at 125,000 miles (not sure what that is in km). There are many for sale in my area running good at around 200,000 miles which is comforting. I stayed away from the supercharged version because it only adds complications and more failure points.
Ah do you guys hse mph as well, I thought it was km in the US. My friend 4.2 SC had around 60,000 on the clock and had so so many issues. One was the parking sensors not working, way you can tell which ones broke is put your ear pretty much on the sensor, you should hear a tiny clicking noise, that's when you know it's working, if any aren't clicking they're broke, I actually bought spares as they were only £10 each. 4.4 is a god dam big engine, fuel prices in the UK are so high, that's why most cars are diesel here and lots more electric. Price wise since I had mine 5+ years ago they've become a lot cheaper for people to buy, I think that's why my videos becoming more popular, it's a car people can now afford. I'd love the newer shape, but think I'll buy another hot hatch next, I still miss my Focus RS
Good video though! Am thinking about buying a 2010 one what it’s like on fuel!? I know there quite hot of fuel but how much are you getting out of it on £20
I never put 20's in always just filled the tank when it needed. If you're used to cars with good MPG this won't be for you, but for the size of the engine and weight of the car I found it fine on fuel. Tax is nasty though £555 on an 06 reg+ insurance depending on how many NCB you have, mine was £350 fully comp per year. I always said I'd have another! Not sure if you seen my newer videos but I got a Focus RS that was about the same on fuel
+me2456 You don't get cup holders in the back it's not that luxurious lol. There 22 inch Range Rover Stomer alloys, quite a common set what people use.
Mr.Craig's Video Channel what... 99.99% of cars have them in the back tf is this lol i ask about the rims because i found a 09 range rover sport super charged and it has some ugly huge rims on it lol
+me2456 I'm always in different cars and wouldn't say 99.9% have cup holders in the back, a USB port seems to be the most common in the back. Loads of cars still don't have cup holders in the front, my other car which I sold Audi s3 didn't have cup holders at all, apart from the glovebox. My Vw Scriocco did though, them are both on my channel. I see ugly ass rims all the time on Range Rovers, people just have zero taste, if I had the money I'd go buy a brand new 2015 model Range Rover Sport, I'm in love with them but the price tag at the moment is to high. What car you driving at the moment?
Mr.Craig's Video Channel i currently drive a 2005 ford f250, im glad there are ugly rims on that range rover this way no one buys it and its still here in a month when i can buy it haha i want the rims you have or the stock ones i think they're nice enough, if i had the 90k myself id go get one i drove my friends 2004 old i know but i fell in love man its a fast suv and it looks pretty nice with a 2-3in lift with off road tires
me2456 Ahh so your from America? Them F250's are big ass trucks, my friends dad has a Ford truck lightning or something its called over the the UK we don't have many big cars. The Range Rover is one of the biggest, Audi do one called a Q7 there nice machines.
I've even tamed it down for my subscribers, normally its strong and you wouldn't understand but I get that many views on here I try to talk the best English lol
Hamza The Gamer Its just so you can go through the gears yourself by pressing up and down. like more modern cars have that feature on the steering wheel with paddles
Hamza The Gamer No manual you'd need a clutch. this is semi-automatic. On the gearstick to flick over to M and push it up and down to change gears. If you check my other video my Mercedes had paddles on the steering wheel
I've just bought one of these, and this video told me more than the car salesman.!!
Thank you very much for taking the time to help other people.!
😄 maybe I should have the salesman's job.
Hope you enjoy your new car 👍
What you say after 2 years?Good car or no?
One of the best and honest regular people car reviews. I had 1998 Freelander then my girl got the 2007, very similar specs. Gonna get one of these I just love the stance and the ride.
I'd love a 2014 model or above, they look amazing. This shape hasn't ages at all I don't think, even though its about 14 years old lol
Brilliant video Craig , I’ve just bought one of these it’s coming to the north east for me tomorrow . Your video has helped me out a lot as I’ve never bought a RR before especially with all the controls very helpful , thanks Craig
What reg and engine you gone for 2.7 or 3.6? HSE?
If you get stuck with anything let me know.
I so want the rr sport and you've made me want it more...thanks for the walk round
Go get one 😁 awesome cars and still look great even though the newer shape is out. I always said I'd buy another but wrap it this time a different colour
I'm supposed to be getting some money soon and all I keep doing is looking at cars and I keep coming back to the sport....can't wait lol
Without being nosey how much you got to spend and I'll try thinking of some good choices for you. Also what other cars are you currently looking at?
Range Rover is a good call but something else might suite you better
Am I the only one who enjoys how he says "over here" 😂
I didn't realise I said it different to anybody else 😂
I love how he talk better then Liverpool talk
I've been asked if I am from Liverpool before, when people have watched my videos 😂
Im n deev seem like good lads. I enjoy the accent too ..I guess we all have one

My favorite car
@@carting9024 I had the 2.7 v6 and my friend had the 3.6 v8 his felt so much faster
My friend had the SC version, man was it thirsty on fuel 😄
Sounds like you've done loads to yours! Guessing your keeping it for a long time! I only owned this for a year, I don't keep cars very long, bought a Merc E class after this, which is also on the channel. I always said I'd get the newer shape Rangie but never did
what a monster car, love it
I just bought one the same as yours. Handy run through thanks.
I still think they look good all these years later, mind I do prefer the newer shape but that's the same with any car, new always looks better 😄
Which engine you gone for 2.7, 3.0 or 3.6?
@@CraigsChannel 2.7
@@bm7760 Just had a quick look online seems the tax on the 2.7 what I had is £360 I'm sure that's £100 more than when I had it, then anything on a 06 reg or above £630. That's a hell of a lot of money for tax
@@CraigsChannel I'm not in the UK but it's expensive here too. Knowing me I'll have long-since traded it by the time the tax is due. ;-)
really nice car craig. always see it out and about around my area. been waiting ages for you to do a review on your range rover and it looks in amazing condition like
+Caillin Greer Hey man, hows it going? Yeah I'm always out and about, I absolutely hate putting fuel in the dam thing. It's in ok condition, black is a really tough color to look after and with it being so big! My friends going to give it a quick machine polish before I sell it, so the odd scuffs are gone
Dave is the MVP
I never thought so many people would even watch this video when I made it lol, Dave just wanted to help out 😂
nice truck. i want one!
You forgot one thing to press the button down on wing mirrors to pull them in 😀
I try to cover as much as I can lol.
But 4x4's are becoming a lot more common, my shape is just heavy and bad on fuel, the newer shape get more than double the MPG
well done Dave....
Great review mate, very precise and descriptive in every detail you mentioned ✌🏼✌🏼
Thanks man, I didn't think so many people would view it bit it seems to be a popular car. The newer version I'd love to own
Craig's Video Channel give it a few years and the new ones will depreciate like mad, the other day I was looking at loads of 2013 range rover vogue's (all new face lift models) and they're now selling for about 45k .... only 5 years ago they were bought for 80k!
Thank you so much for beautiful video! I am gonna go tomorrow to check one RR Sport 2.7. I hope everything will be ok, I would like one.
Craig's Video Channel
My misses loved the scirrocco , at the time i was the only one around my way that had it . And would you advise some one to
Go for it ?
Jeep Grand Cherokee trailhawk
Nice. In such good condition, it's a credit to you.
+Sausage Thanks man, yeah it was is really good condition. To be honest all my cars are lol, I'm really picky when I buy a car. You'll probably like my other car videos Audi s3, VW Scirocco there on my channel
Might seem a bit extravagant for a first car I know but I’m buying one in November 😁😁can’t wait
For a first car I'd buy something a a little smaller and cheaper to run. Is there no other cars you like? I've had loads of cars over the years so happy to help if you need advice on any
Just bought the same, very impressive
What reg you gone for? The tax on the newer ones are really expensive. Did you get a HSE?
@@CraigsChannel agreed I just brought 2007 hse and tax is 600 a year

Ideal for the local dump run.. 1:54 No spare, great.. Ah spare underneath vehicle is it ok?
Spares underneath the car on these, same with a few French cars
@@CraigsChannel I didn't even get a spare when I got a Freelander 2.. Had to go to eBay..

@@CraigsChannel Yes and my tin of slim was 4 years out of date. Luckily I got a spare wheel and tyre off of eBay and I got a puncture outside where I live or I made it back home after only driving locally and got a puncture at car park. hi
could you tell me each model has brembo brakes? interested me 2.7 from 2006 but my friend told me MUST HAVE BREMBO BRAKES because is a heavy car ,brembo pack is much stiffer and prevents rolling of the car,but I did't see with brembo brakes.
please answer thanks
+rapidiot Mines a 2005 and didn't have the brembo's the brakes were find though I never had any issues, they are heavy cars but my standard breaks stopped me fine. My friends have the brembo 4pots on theres, they look cool but I thought they were an optional extra
I have one! Love it.
Yeah they're lovely cars, think I sold this one about 5 years ago, I keep saying I'll buy the newer shape but not 100% 😂
Im going to see this model on saturday :-)
PIXYBASHER Sport HSE? Make sure it is a HSE friend of mine bought one and it was an S with badges lol. You going for a 2.7 or 3.6?
Make sure the air suspension works, no knocking from the bottom arms on the front end and make sure both belts have been changed
Craig's Video Channel it's the 2.7. it's from a recognised garage so should be ok.
PIXYBASHER Just be careful as these cars do tend to break. Ask for a 12 month warranty. What reg and miles is it? Id love the new model but didn't want to pay £50k second hand lol
Do you still own it? And do you like this engine in terms of reliability etc.? Loved the video btw I enjoyed watching it.
Before I bought mine lots of people said I'd have problems after problems but touch wood in 12 months the only issue was a parking sensors speaker
You can how ever buy these tiny little lower hooks, there small and I mean small but a couple of hundred pound, they'll keep the car down without bringing it back up
i ve already paid the deposit. on weekend im gona pick up from the garage. one question i heard bad reviews abt 2.7. is it too slow or ok.
king Janjua 2.7 is fine 3.6 is a twin turbo and has issues. Just make sure the timing and alternator belt has been changed.

Cheers that is really good to know i will re think my choices. It will still be a sport though.
Really want to get an old model Range Rover like this L322, just for the weekends, too expensive to run all the time
Lelantos Mine was a daily and yeah it wasn't cheap to run at all. Great cars though
Craig's Video Channel I've always loved Land Rovers, however did you have any problems with it? As they're pretty infamous for breaking? haha
What you guys thinking about exactly this car with almost 190k kilometers ?
Buy it or not ?
Is that around 120,000 miles? As long as an engine has been serviced and maintained it could go until 500,000
When you get over 100,000 it's normally wear and tear on cars what happens, same with any car really.
But I got one wish, it should be automatic gearbox :) And what you think about Mercedes-Benz C-Class?
poison3x maybe a Bmw 520d or 525d you would be happy with?
OK, I will look after this car :) And what about Benz? You don´t recommend Benz? :)
Did you take the bottom strip off to plastidip it ? Or did you do it on the car mate ?
On the tailgate? That says Range Rover?
Just pulls off, it's held in my pop clips about 7 of them if I remember. Then did it in the shed
@@CraigsChannel awesome, so it should just pull off? 👍🏼

+Nutguy95 Thanks man, m3 is the only car I've really looked for, I was wanting a green Focus RS but there far to easy to pinch.
Plasti dip is really easy to use, as long as you make sure what ever your cleaning is 100% clean and dry you'll be fine

Nutguy95 If you were local I'd of shown you how to do it. It's an easy enough job just take your time don't rush and give each coat 10-15mins to dry
Best car👍👍👍

Really nice cars to drive, if I was to buy another I'd go for the newer shape though!
@@CraigsChannel I'm considering buying one, like a project car. With various errors and omissions. Just have to see if it is profitable.
Hey sir , nice car by the way, i wanna know what is the color of your front grill ?
It's matt black, I used plasti dip on it, same with the side vents and rear tailgate
Craig did you used to have an S3?
Yeah Ash, sold it to my mate who still owns it, sale he's not selling it unless a newer shape pops up for a good price lol
I've found a diesel 2006 range rover my dad needs to buy one but am not sure abt the decision
I still love them, but make sure you check everything over. my friend had a 2007 and hes just traded it in as everything kept braking
There is 2007 2.7 liters, the car has 118,000 miles. Good idea to buy? 18,000 Dollars
Proper gangster nice one
+lee m Lol yeah I think that's what people used to always think gangster or drug dealer haha. That many people have them now though there just a normal car on the road... Its not until you own a car you notice how many other people have the same one. When I had my VW Scirocco hardly anybody had one, then a few months down the line I seen them all over the place.
+Mr.Craig's Video Channel I loads of people's mams own a range now there cheap ☺☺☺☺☺
Have you still got the car I’m thinking about buying one around 2010-2012 ish
No I sold it about 5-6 years ago Kev. I'm guessing you're after the facelift version? They're much nicer inside
where are the rear cup holders...?
I like you accent. Where are you from? Very good car btw. Greetings.
I'm from the North East of England. Greetings 😁 and thanks for the comment.
My friends just bought the 4
2 v8 Supercharged version this week
@@CraigsChannel Thank you too😊! Land Rovers are my dream cars! I had Freelander td4 and i am planing to buy one this beautis .In my country( Montenegro) registration
for v8 engines is very expensive and v6 is my only option🙄😂Thanks for your video it is very usefull
@@Yespeace-ww3un You will be happy with the v6 engine, this is what I had and loved it. These are a really popular car now, well worth the money
im just down the rd in durham. i got one of these and mine has tv on the sat nav. i thought yours would have?
Mine had the Sat Nav mate, the TV featute was an optional extra like the fridge was so who ever bought mine new didn't go for them.
What reg is yours? I sold this car almost 3 years ago, had a few cars since then E Class Merc, New Focus RS and a little old school 206 GTi lol.
I'd love a new shape on say a 64 plate.
hi mate, mines a 2007. i know road tax is a bitch.lol
Tell me about it you'll be in the £555 bracket are you
I liked the Scirocco more. Never understood why people get 4x4 cars for the town/city.
They are hella popular though. Keep up the vids Craig.
I'm looking to get an e92 m3 next, see how that plans out.
how much do you need to fill up and whats the mpg?
The tank wasn't very big in this at all, strange with it being such a big car. Fuel is rubbish on these and even worse on the 3.8 TDV8 version. If it's fuel economy it's not the car for you lol
Compared to a prius
Nice one man
+LoveAudiA41998 Thanks man, even an Audi fan like yourself likes this lol
+Mr.Craig's Video Channel yeah lol i like watching the car vids you do you do a good job
+LoveAudiA41998 I was going to record my friend explaining the car and stuff, I hate being on camera lol. He's clueless with cars but I could always write him a script haha
+Mr.Craig's Video Channel haha i think ur quite good on camera explain everything well and that lol but fair enough
Whats plasid dip?
Its a spray paint that you're able to peel off when ever you want. You car spray small parts or full cars. Ive done a few full cars with it and small bits like grills and badges.
Plasti dip
When you plug the iPhone into the aux port does it charge the phone at the same time ?
No AUX is just an old audio port, it's really old school now and the quality's pretty shit. You'd be best off buying a one of them Fm transmitter you plug in the cigarette lighter socket, it links to your phones Bluetooth then you turn the radio to say 77.7fm to listen
@@CraigsChannel does it make the music better quality than the aux ?
I'd say so, you can pick them up from Amazon for a tenna, try one if it's crap send it back. AUX is super old now, you can connect your phone to the head unit but it's just for calls
Hi. Im lookimg to buy a 05 plate range rover 2.7. 86000 miles. How reliable do you find them?? Is there problems all the time???
Robert Gore - couldn't you find one with a good warranty, 12 or 24 months? At least then you know any apparent problems can be dealt with.
oh dear lol, maybe not for me then.
+Mr.Craig's Video Channel
I'm not after something super great on fuel.
Hi what sort of mpg was you getting?
+Richard Ayres There not really cars you get good mpg from Richard. I took it on a proper run yesterday 100miles and averaged around 30mpg when I filled up again. I pay no attention to the trip computer I think that said 26.4
I’ve got a 2008 rr sport 2.7 has it got aux n Bluetooth?
It's got Aux for audio which is located in the rear where the back heated seats are. Bluetooth is only for answering phone calls not playing music like modern cars.
The 2008 should have USB somewhere
@@CraigsChannel oh ok thx
Nice ride, but for such a lumbering giant with diesel, in my country the taxes are sky-high. Not an option for me :(
What country you from? Over in the UK tax prices are also crazy
I'm from The Netherlands. Road taxes would be £654 per 3 months for a Range Rover, so a car like this would be a expensive hobby :D
@@thomashollebrand8204 Bloody hell, no wonder you guys like riding your push bikes, you're all saving up for the tax on your RR's!
😂 I was thinking the same thing. Tax is so expensive
Lmao not everyone can understand a Geordie accent not that little buttons fault. Hahaha nice vid well presented nice motor also.
Is this my mate Johnny? If not you both have the same name 😂
Thanks for the comment
2.7 Tov6 HSE
Check the bottom arms. Try the gearbox in manual and slowly pull off make sure no judder.
Test the air suspension is working.
And both parts of the boot hatch open
Whats the top Speed and how many horses?
I believe 188bhp and top speed 130mph+ they aren't meant for speed though, it's nice to just cruise in them with the nice comfortable seats 😁
2005? I thought the first sport model was made in 2006?
No 2005 Davy, that's how it's the cheap bracket on tax, they facelifted it around 2010 with newer dash, headlight etc
You need to get facelift grill, facelift tail lights and halos put in the front and it would look really nice my dad was looking into buying one of these but a few years newer but then ended up buying a BMW e70 but now he is considering buying a facelift version of this
I've sold this now, on the look for something better :-)
+Mr.Craig's Video Channel have had a look at a few cls500's
Hassan Rahman I've been looking at c63 AMG's dude
+Mr.Craig's Video Channel make sure you get the facelift model it may cost slightly more but you get a lot more for your money
Good video!!! : Do you know a website where I can buy some English cars with good price? Thanks from France
AutoTrader, Gumtree or Pistonheads then type .co.uk if you're will to travel here I'm sure you'll find something really nice then either drive it home via the euro tunnel or ferry.

Do you still have the car?
No I sold it pretty much straight after I made the video around 5 years ago. Some guy from Wales bought it and I think he still owns it
Have you sold it yet ?
yeah sold it about 3 weeks ago
yeah it's great why u sell yours ?
Hi Mark, sorry for the delayed reply. I sell my my cars pretty quick as I like to change them and get bored, the Range Rover lasted me 10-11 months which is a long time for me
Mark Farrier great example well kept thinking of getting one just doing my homework on it
Beautiful motor ..love one just not reliable. Shame really. Cause they stunning vehicles.
Yeah there still lovely looking cars. I wouldn't believe all you hear, I had mine a little over a year and the only issue was a parking sensor speaker cost me something like £22 on eBay. When I first bought it the bottom arms were knackered that cost around £400 but was just wear and tear. The lad who bought mine in 2015 still has it and he's put boat loads of miles on lol
can you put a DVD in the front and watch movies?
Nope, same with the Audi headunit I had in my old s3 that wouldn't play DVD's. To be honest I've had cars that do play DVD's and never use that feature
Laughing at how you have to pull the bonnet release from the passenger side. LR was too lazy to mirror the mechanism from the LHD models.
When I bought it my first idea was black on black thats where Plasti dip came in 😁
@@CraigsChannel mine is the 4.4 NA V8 (petrol/gasoline)
I’ve had no issues at all with it over the near year I’ve owned it.
Is there anything Dave can’t doo?
I've never spoken to him for a few years. We had a little falling out over something he did so cut ties. But least he helped out in this video!
Craig's Video Channel thanks for the info mate really helped, I will check your other video mate
also what rims are those?

This diesel and is it automatic
Hamza The Gamer Yeah diesel auto. these only come in an auto dude, they don't come in manual
what is manual on gear box then thanks for letting me know
Hamza The Gamer Its just so you can go through the gears yourself by pressing up and down. like more modern cars have that feature on the steering wheel with paddles
how do you change gear then and does it mean it is kinda manual
Hamza The Gamer No manual you'd need a clutch. this is semi-automatic. On the gearstick to flick over to M and push it up and down to change gears. If you check my other video my Mercedes had paddles on the steering wheel
