I carry two cell phones when at work. A holiday does not include depending on carrying my cell phone around. A day at Disney sounds complicated, unpleasant, and another day tied to a cell phone. No thanks.
I live in Waynesboro, Georgia and the whole town is a tree-dropped mess with a lot of downed power lines since the hurricane passed over. Everyone's been out of power since Thursday morning. Comcast somehow got phone connections back up today. Stores and folks with generators are the only places with power and gas stations are running out of gas.
I’m in NC and blessed to be in an area not hit hard by the storm . . . And I have a full tank of gas. Hope Waynesboro didn’t lose any lives in the storm . . . And I agree, cash is necessary. Also, banks, governments, and businesses can instantly deny a person access to their money or ability to make electronic transactions, and the Canadian government has shown that they will do so.
That is why one should use cash and not debit and credit. That way you always have a way to pay for anything rather then being held hostage to electronic devices. Wait until a power grid goes out at some point (and it will) and so many have no access to their money. A few hours may not be real bad, but if it's a grid that goes out and it's days, people will freak...
Look at what Canadian government did during the truckers’ protest, they had the bank freeze a woman’s bank account. Yes, the government lost the court case afterwards , but they showed their willingness to cut off people’s access to banking without any court process.
A true mess for Disney but I guess it could be a win for Universal, Knots, SeaWorld or other parks nearby that could be beneficiaries from this. A great presentation on this topic regardless
As the house of mouse has been pushing no cash transactions, I have been waiting for this to happen. When it comes to electronic systems going down, it is when, not if
LWG has a lot of expertise, but technology and corporate decision making aren’t included. He has consistently bad takes on the problem and solutions that could be implemented.
cash will always be king. people need to stop depending on technology for EVERYTHING. I know its the way of the world but here is a prime example of when its not so great.
Lol you guys don't really know anything about tech. Granted, Disney has some tech challenges, but everyone does. Any place that uses credit cards or a payment processor have had this happen at least once.

The American consumer has a fetish for being stressed and ripped off.

As opposed to the normal level of park havoc, with rides not working, disrepair, filthy areas, rude and disrespectful cast members......

@@sorbabaric1 another reason to always have an on hand supply of cash.
Cash only works if the vendor still takes cash. A lot of the places including theme parks no longer accept cash.
@@spectrex5302 so when they get a power outtage or their system goes down, they're screwed.
Paper tickets and cash don't require electricity or a cell signal; just sayin'.
