The real tragedy of California is that Norcal and Socal are like two different states. The Northern half is rural, ranches and farms; but Southern California has the big population centers, Hollywood, and Silicon Valley. What I really LOVE about this documentary is it shows sooo much HOPE. The American dream has not disappeared, It has just changed. I don't see it as "I must buy property to fulfill that dream." As a child of the '60s, I'm very happy to see the "commune" style of living come back. With the housing crisis, it may be the most fiscally sound way for people to live. I am one who still believes it takes a village to raise a child. Communal living does that. Happy, healthy children, are the new American dream. A dream that can come true.

There are special taxes and programs that only exist in Cali. From what I understand, there are lots of companies and other places that have moved to another state with lower costs to continue operating. I don't live in Cali, but have some family that does. Not sure how they are doing the past few months.

I left the state of California some time around the time this was filmed. It worked out good for me. I'm glad i left. I've been back to visit a few times since including recently. "Summer of 2017" the problems didn't appear to get any better, infact it looked like it got worse. More homelessness, more disparity. One thing that surprised me was tent settlements on the side of the freeways that were not there when i left.... It was overwhelming and unfortunate.
If you happen to live near them you can expect to have your car stolen or at least broken into. The Meth heads ride around on bicycles in the area in the daytime casing things out.

In 2000, I left my apartment at 3;30 am, while my neighbors slept in. I was not making it, but the woman on state aid received everything, including an extra $1,200 for reporting her mom driving the kids to school, which she did not. Oh...And the dad ,fresh from jail, lived there, but that was not reported ,so she received more. And neither worked. I could smell the 'weed' burning next door.....I live in Arizona now. And it's WAY BETTER. If folks are going to vote demacrat, you should stay in that disaster called California.

They tell our officials what to do and we have no power to change their agenda. I learned this when our zoning board went after me for raising goats on my inherited farmland. I found out they are zoning farmland residential, forbidding raising livestock or working fields, raising taxes, taking complete control of our land . The UN is doing this all over the world. It’s really good to know so we can maybe stand up to it.

I was born and raised in southern California. I moved away when I was 19 yrs old. I'm living in Arkansas and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. This state is so different than other places I've visited in the past 20 or 30 yrs. We are extremely Blessed here, we are predominantly Conservative in our state, if you're not working, you probably don't want to work. After seeing what has become of my native state, I feel SOOOOOO Blessed By my Heavenly Father to live in this state, ARKANSAS!! GOD'S BEEN SOOOOOO GOOD TO ME!!

Most Californians get their electricity through PG&E whos rates are set by a commission selected by the Governor called the PUC. The rates are tiered and after the first few days in a billing cycle, the rate jumps to over .41 cents a Kwh. The highest price paid for electricity in the world. The National average is like .09 a Kwh. That rate is not just outraging it is criminal and liberals have granted them another rate hike later this year. Not surprisingly PG&E is one of the largest donors to the Democrats. The feds need to seize PG&E if not the whole state.

The real tragedy of California is that Norcal and Socal are like two different states. The Northern half is rural, ranches and farms; but Southern California has the big population centers, Hollywood, and Silicon Valley. The ranchers and farmers are stuck with the bad decisions Liberals make. I'd LOVE to return to Cali, but it's too expensive and drowning in ridiculous regulations.

What I really LOVE about this documentary is it shows sooo much HOPE. The American dream has not disappeared, It has just changed. I don't see it as "I must buy property to fulfill that dream." As a child of the '60s, I'm very happy to see the "commune" style of living come back. With the housing crisis, it may be the most fiscally sound way for people to live. I am one who still believes it takes a village to raise a child. Communal living does that. Happy, healthy children, are the new American dream. A dream that can come true.

There are special taxes and programs that only exist in Cali. From what I understand, there are lots of companies and other places that have moved to another state with lower costs to continue operating. I don't live in Cali, but have some family that does. Not sure how they are doing the past few months.

I left the state of California some time around the time this was filmed. It worked out good for me. I'm glad i left. I've been back to visit a few times since including recently. "Summer of 2017" the problems didn't appear to get any better, infact it looked like it got worse. More homelessness, more disparity. One thing that surprised me was tent settlements on the side of the freeways that were not there when i left.... It was overwhelming and unfortunate.
If you happen to live near them you can expect to have your car stolen or at least broken into. The Meth heads ride around on bicycles in the area in the daytime casing things out.
I left California in 2007, but shortly before I did, Ive seen poverty and tent cities unfold into places they werent there before.

I was not making it, but the woman on state aid received everything, including an extra $1,200 for reporting her mom driving the kids to school, which she did not. Oh...And the dad ,fresh from jail, lived there, but that was not reported ,so she received more. And neither worked. I could smell the 'weed' burning next door.....I live in Arizona now. And it's WAY BETTER. If folks are going to vote demacrat, you should stay in that disaster called California.

They tell our officials what to do and we have no power to change their agenda. I learned this when our zoning board went after me for raising goats on my inherited farmland. This state is so different than other places I've visited in the past 20 or 30 yrs. We are extremely Blessed here, we are predominantly Conservative in our state, if you're not working, you probably don't want to work. I left California, while being offered a 350k+ position if I stayed.. Good riddance. It needs to collapse, the unfunded pension obligations need to blow up and the real estate market needs to tank. Otherwise, they will never learn their lesson.

This is all over America! And now it is illegal in many states to be "homeless"...even to feed them is a crime... It is a shame...and the bigger problem is most people in America are only One pay check away from being homeless themselves! Most have no retirement plan ... more and more the class divide is getting wider...the middle class is almost extinct! In my opinion it is only getting worse. The most I can do is give them is a few bucks and maybe something to eat...I always give them kindness and listen to what they have to say... In my town we have a lot of elderly, and veterans. Its just sad..:/
